My car is a 2019 Subaru Outback. It has less than 20,000 miles on the odometer. This morning is wouldn’t start. I called for a jump and when the service person arrived, they told me the battery was dead. They gave it a jump and I let the car run for an hour. After parking the car a couple of blocks away, I tried to start it again. Nothing. Now I have to have it towed to the dealership.

In March 2020, I took my 2016 Subaru Forester to the dealership to fix the issues associated with the Subaru Safety Recall WUM-98 / NHTSA Recall 19V-701 (unstable electrical connections causing issues with the occupant detection system in determining the correct status of the right front seat occupant, which would prevent the front passenger-side airbag from deploying in the event of a crash). In August of 2021, I took my Forester back into the Subaru dealership (where previous service was performed) because the “airbag warning” light and the “Passenger airbag off” indicator began to illuminate, however this occurred somewhat inconsistently. Sometimes both warning lights illuminate when someone sits in the front passenger seat, sometimes they do not illuminate at all and everything seems fine. Other times, the lights illuminate when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. Additionally, sometimes the seatbelt alarm sounds when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. However, this is also inconsistent. In August 2021, the Subaru dealership told me that the issue is likely caused by water damage (a spill) on the front passenger seat that has caused the sensors within the seat to malfunction. I told them that I did not recall spilling any liquids on the front passenger seat. Now the dealership is telling me to replace the passenger seat bottom assembly sensor for $1,211 USD.Read more

I chose electrical problem above, however to be specific, the issue is with the battery life. I’ve read numerous complaints online of other customers of Subaru outback and Ascent, and they are reporting the same issues that I am having. Premature battery drain. I am not misusing the car at all. This is happening with normal usage of the car. I have been left stranded in several places because of
... this issue. It’s gotten to the point where I had to purchase an electric charger to carry around with me. The last battery that was purchased for the car last year is now completely dead. It is ridiculous to have this amount a batteries replaced in such a short period on a newer model car. My car is only three years old. This is the third battery that I am replacing. I cannot count the number of times happen to me. So the date below will be the most current date when the battery died. The worst part is, Subaru knows about the issues, but they just keep giving me excuses for why it’s dying. Furthermore, they keep replacing it with the same type of battery. It’s not just me. These complaints are numerous throughout the Subaru ascent owners that I read online.Read more

Immediately upon diving off lot, the car stopped and I had issues. The salesman told me I had to get used to the start/sytem. This is a dangerous situation. The passenger airbag occupancy sensor in my care is broken and has been since I purchased this vehicle in 2016. It is the same issue that caused the recall of 2012 Impreza models, however, my 2013 model is not covered under the recall despite having the same occupancy sensor for the airbags. If the passenger airbag sensor is exposed to moisture, whether from a wet seat, a sweaty bum, or even an e
... xcessively humid environment like Charleston SC in the summer or western Washington, the passenger airbag will switch off even when there is a passenger present. . The warning lamp on the driver dash lights up, and the passenger airbag display reads "OFF". The airbag will shut off at any point, even if the vehicle is already in motion, should the moisture levels reach a certain level in the environment. This is an expensive, cost prohibitive repair that I believe Subaru consumers shouldn't be responsible for. This malfunction puts passengers in my vehicle at risk should an accident occur when the airbag is shut off despite the presence of a passenger. I have documented this on MANY occasions- from 2016 to 2021. Subaru should step up and expand this recall to other models that use the same passenger occupancy sensor as the recalled sensors in their 2012 Impreza's.Read more

I get that, my assumption when I had the car serviced that the bolts on the seat bracket just needed tightened. I was told by the service advisor that the seat bracket would cost over $800.00 to be fixed. How is a weld defect a consumer issue? That is why I’m contacting you.
