I received Safety Recall 68C for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe stating that the high-voltage battery may become damaged during normal operation and could lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and states that no remedy is currently available. In addition to the recall, I am experiencing a major safety issue inside the vehicle. The rear driver-side passenger sea
... t (directly above the high-voltage battery) becomes extremely hot during normal driving, hot enough that my family members cannot sit there comfortably. The heat is abnormal and appears to be coming from the battery area. I have small children who ride in this vehicle, and I no longer feel it is safe to transport them. FCA has no fix for the known battery defect, and the combination of internal heat from the seat and the fire-risk warning significantly impairs the safety and usability of the vehicle. FCA advises owners to avoid charging, but this makes the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose as a plug-in hybrid. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because this appears to be a serious battery overheating and potential fire hazard affecting the passenger cabin. Please investigate. I need guidance, as the manufacturer cannot repair the defect, and I am concerned for the safety of my family. If there’s no cure to this problem, please ask FCA to purchase the vehicle back from me. It’s a three year lease and I have about six months left on it.Read more

I own a 2025 Subaru Ascent Limited. At approximately 20,000 miles, one of the original tires (factory-installed) developed a straight split along the tread/shoulder area. On 9/2/25, I gave my car to my local dealership to complete routine maintenance and to remedy a safety recall that had been initiated a few months prior. It was supposed to take one day to complete, but I was told that they were having trouble with a certain scan tool and would need technical assistance on their end before they could complete the recall. In short, it is now more than 3 months lat
... er (12/5) and I STILL do not have my car back. To the best of my knowledge, this is the problem: there is a scan tool that is necessary to complete the recall, and that this tool is malfunctioning. What the dealership keeps telling me is that they “continue to send tickets to their IT department, but don’t hear anything back.” A couple of times, they have heard back and have tried different updates or workarounds, to no avail. On multiple occasions, my service advisor has said that they “send tickets to IT daily in order to bother them enough actually do something.” I finally called VW customer care after my car had been with the dealership for 2 months, and the case was escalated to an RCM. She has tried following up with the dealership, as well as reaching out to the QTRL and QTM to see if there was any way to try to suss out the issue. To my knowledge, both of those have been fruitless. In fact, when the QTM visited the dealership to look at my car on November 26, all were hopeful there would be some movement. My RCM told me that the QTM was looking for updates to my case that “just weren’t there.” And that “the QTM on multiple occasions had looked for updates, but none were available.” To top things off, I spoke with my RCM on 12/2, and she said that my ticket had been closed due to “no updates in 5 days.” Infuriated, she reached back out that day to reopen the ticket. I was told today, 12/5, that the ticket STILL hasn’t been reopened. There is more, but I’m out of space. This many miscommunications and complete inaction is absolutely inexcusable at this point.Read more

The car has a strange thump when driving around 70-75. This is always and the dealer says it’s normal, which is not true! This weird thump is now happening at lower speeds and also a weird shuddering at speeds around 25-40. Shudders are more random Also starting at about 8-10,000 miles randomly while driving highway speeds 70-75 the vehicle shudders /vibrates for about 20 seconds and then stops.
... I do not use lane assist so it’s not that. It feels like when you run over the rumble sticks on the highway but amplified x20. Also since almost purchase I have had several alignments because the car continuously pulls to the left. In Florida the roads crown to the right for rain water run off. If anything the car should pull to the right but it pulls to the left consistently even right after an alignment. Other complaints I’ve made are how unstable and wobbly it drives and this has gotten significantly worse to the point that the ability to maintain control of it on the highway is not pleasant and feels very unsafe Any cat that randomly shudders at highway speeds is not safe And needs to be fixed. However,14 service trips and several manufacturer complaints and still nothing… they promise things and give it a car wash instead. They are not saying much about their own product to tell me it’s running as designed. I’m tired of hearing I can’t duplicate it. Absurd excuse. At this point it’s been very scary at times… so I’m selective with where I use my vehicle. So I’ve been renting when I need to go on the highway. This is costly but at least safer for myself and others. I wish they would just fix the carRead more

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding repeated, severe, and dangerous malfunctions of the vehicle's engine Start/Stop (Idle Stop) feature. The system is failing to operate as intended, resulting in the engine stalling while the vehicle is in motion or under crucial driving circumstances, creating significant safety hazards. History of Incidents I have experienced four separate inciden
... ts where the engine unexpectedly stalled or shut down, creating extreme risk: Incident 1 (Railroad Tracks): The engine stopped while I was actively driving over railroad tracks. The car stalled on the tracks, and within seconds of the engine restarting, the crossing gates came down and a train passed. I narrowly avoided being hit by the train, missing the impact by approximately ten seconds. Incident 2 (Heavy Traffic/Bridge): During heavy, back-to-back traffic as a bridge (PGA bridge) was opening, the car momentarily stopped and then resumed movement. The unpredictable stopping motion created a severe risk of being rear-ended, as the following vehicle would have had difficulty anticipating the sudden, unintended stop. Incident 3 (December 2025): While taking a right turn, the engine stopped suddenly, with dash lights blinking, during only a slight pause in vehicle movement. This occurred while the vehicle was still maneuvering. Incident 4 (The following day): The engine stopping malfunction described in Incident 3 occurred again the next day. Attempted Repair and Ongoing Concern Two years ago, the dealership installed a new battery following the first two incidents. However, the problem has now recurred this week (December 2025). The dealership has informed me that using a third-party device to permanently disable the Start/Stop function would void the powertrain warranty. Causing Mechanical Stress: I believe the continuous, potentially faulty activation is putting unnecessary stress on the battery, electrical system, and engine components, which may ultimately shorRead more

On four separate occasions, the truck has suddenly decelerated in traffic without warning, would not shift out of gear, and in some cases would not shut off even when pressing the start/stop button. During the most recent incident, I was unab

My wife and I as well as a good Samaritan stranger almost got ran over while checking to see what's wrong. Police showed up and called for a tow truck, since the incident was happening in a state hwy. Each time I brought the truck to the dealership, I showed photos and videos of the issue, but the dealership claimed they could not reproduce it. Now the dealership is telling me I must pay $1,127 just for them to look inside the transmission, and potentially $2,800–$11,000 for repairs. This is a safety-critical defect that began well within the warranty period and has progressively worsened. A sudden loss of power and inability to control the vehicle is dangerous and could result in a crash, injury, or death. I believe this issue should be investigated for a recall or manufacturer responsibility due to multiple reports of similar failures in Ram 1500 models. I have videos of the incidents in 2025 at 80k miles, and a video in 2024 at 43k miles that show the live incidents.Read more
