Dealer failure to to remedy engine replacement under settlement. I am entitled under the March 1, 2022, Settlement Agreement (the “E2 Settlement”) due to recurring Theta II engine failures caused by the oil-starvation/connecting-rod bearing defect. Vehicle stalling on highways and heavy traffic, Repeated codes and failures of MAP sensors, VVT solenoids, camshaft position sensors, starters (×3
... ), batteries (×2), turbo wastegate, fuel pump, EVAP canister, thermostats/housings, etc. — all downstream symptoms of oil starvation and bearing failure Hyundai dealers (Hyundai of Palm Springs and others) have continued to misdiagnose and charge me for unrelated repairs while refusing to acknowledge the covered defect in the replacement engine. Relief Demanded Under the E2 Settlement Pursuant to Settlement ¶¶ 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, and 6, I demand the following within fourteen (14) days: Full replacement of the failed engine with a new or remanufactured long-block assembly at $0 out-of-pocket cost to me, including all related gaskets, hoses, sensors, turbocharger, and PCM reflash: Full reimbursement of all out-of-pocket repair expenses incurred since the 2022 replacement (approximately $8,178.50+ $150 for two maxed out Triple A cards, and a new rental car for this week at $1500.00 total to date $10,148.50— Reimbursement of all towing and rental-car expenses (receipts enclosed); Compensation for diminished value of the vehicle. Confirmation that the Lifetime Warranty remains in full force on any future engine. In the alternative, a cash buyback of $25,000 in full satisfaction of all claims. This vehicle has suffered two qualifying Theta II engine failures, the second occurring in a warranty replacement engine. Hyundai of Palm Springs continued refusal to properly honor the settlement has caused extreme hardship, safety risks (multiple freeway/intersection stalls), and thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenseRead more

I recently purchased a 2025 Honda Prologue. I've had multiple issues with the advanced driver assistance systems. The rear automatic braking will slam the brakes on when I'm backing up if it detects something like a pedestrian on the sidewalk (that I am in no danger of hitting). I've also had issues with it misinterpreting where the lane lines are on the freeway, and automatically trying to incorr
... ectly steer the car OUT of the lane, which is very dangerous, especially at freeway speeds. These systems can be disabled, but this must be done EVERY time you start the car. There is no way to completely turn them off and have them stay off. While I understand these systems were designed to improve safety, they are deeply flawed and actually make driving less safe. At the very least, there needs to be a way to permanently disable them. NHTSA needs to mandate that car companies, including Honda, offer drivers a choice to permanently disable these systems until the technology is much better than it currently is. Thank you.Read more

Now it's been a whole month that our car has been sitting at the mechanics. Engine was torn apart, everything was all broken and needed to be replaced. My mechanic called the dealership and said they will not pay for it even if it was their issue. Now I'm trying to get my warranty to pay for it since I purchased it. Dealer inspected my 2019 Honda CR-V on 12/18/2025 and informed me that 3 of my 4 fuel injectors need to be replaced. When the problem occurred, my safety was at risk, and others could have been put at risk because the vehicle stalled and smoke came out, indicating something was burning. I visited the dealer for this problem because they replaced the defective/recalled fuel pump in January 2025. T
... he smell of gas, stalling, and smoke indicated fuel problems associated with the original fuel pump recall. No warning lamps or messages or any other symptoms of the issue before the failure. This came out of nowhere. I had the vehicle serviced by the same dealer for an oil change during the Thanksgiving week, and the dealer did not report any issues to me. Shockingly, my vehicle is not on the recall list, since this is obviously a HONDA DEFECT and nothing I did. The car has low mileage, only 26,000 miles, and fuel injectors failing with this low mileage is unheard of. Shame on HONDA for not fixing this for free and sticking their customers with a high repair bill since the car is out of the original warranty period, and an extended warranty was not put in place by HONDA for this VIN. I contacted the HONDA corporate office to open a reimbursement case, but they said it could take months for a decision because there are so many consumer complaints. Please open an investigation into the failing fuel injectors to make HONDA responsible for their defective cars.Read more

The car's OBD (on board diagnostic) is not functional. This means that if a check engine light comes on it's impossible for the mechanic to know why. This means the car can never complete a state inspection and more seriously if there's an electrical problem, could result in a fire. I took the car to a Ford dealership and they verbally told me that lots of Ford cars are having this problem and
... that it is a manufacturing problem, not a specific problem only with my car. They want anywhere from $1600 - $4000 to repair/reprogram the OBD. They told me that they've done this "repair" for many customers and it's a manufacturing problem. In my opinion this should be a recall, not a repair customers have to pay for, most importantly because it could be dangerous bc mechanics can't access the car info if the check engine light comes on, and also the car can never be inspected which is not the fault of the car owner.Read more

“Charge system service now” came on the dash, battery lost power after about 10 seconds, screen went black, dash went black, car locked up, opened the hood and the engine was on fire, called 911 who came quickly and put the fire out without the entire car burning, insurance later total losses the car. I don’t know if it was the battery or the engine responsible for the failure, because the
... flames were on the engine and not the battery, but the incident was triggered by a battery warning. I was on the interstate driving 60mph when the car shut off and everything including my headlights and even hazard lights went black. Not only could I have been struck by a car on the interstate, I could have died in a car fire. Because the car locked up, I couldn’t open the trunk or use any electronics. The door could have just as easily locked and trapped us inside a burning car. The car is on a salvage yard, no attempt to replicate has been made. Progressive insurance, and Columbia fire inspected it and found that it was undetermined. “Charge service system now” was the only warning before the infotainment screen shut down to reduce battery usage. This 2021 Kia Seltos car’s engine has randomly seized up 4 times over the last year causing very serious safety concern. Fortunately, these 4 seize-ups happened when the powerless Seltos car could be safely directed to the shoulder of the road while driving in slower paced traffic. Each time this occurred, our 2021 Kia Seltos had to be towed; towed twice to a mechanic shop and twice to directl
... y to the dealer. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as the vehicle using excessive oil resulting in the vehicle safety sensors shutting the engine down. However, in those instances when we towed the vehicle to the dealer, the dealership always obfuscated and gave us the impression that they were not taking our safety concerns seriously. They never adequately addressed our concerns and often conducted some minor repairs seemingly to placate us to get us down the road. None of their minor repairs worked or solved the problem. In each instance after their repair the problem repeated. We expressed our extreme frustration and concern for our life safety. We communicated to them that this vehicle’s engine has proven unsafe and that has randomly seize-up several times We have researched the 2021 Seltos and found that these Kia models have many serious recalls for multiple items including the problem that we have experiences with excess oil usage. It is our experience that our KIA dealership will not adequately address our concerns and will not take necessary measures to adequately address our very serious safety issues. We believe that our 2021 Seltos is a "Lemmon" and needs to be replaced, or at least its engine replaced. We hope this complaint results in serious action and that I'm not writing again indicating that this 2021 Seltos “Lemmon" vehicle has again seized up and has resulted in a life-threatening safety issue.Read more

On December 15, 2025, driving on a highway in low temperatures, my 2024 Subaru Solterra (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced a progressive loss of power. At 9:20 a.m., I departed NYC for Amenia, NY (91 miles). ... , the range buffer diminished rapidly. By 10:52 a.m. (approx. 85 miles in), the vehicle stopped responding normally to the accelerator. Speed became limited to 36–40 mph. The panel displayed: “Traction battery empty, Output power reduced.” However, immediately next to this warning, the dashboard displayed "7 mi" range and 4% battery. Relying on this data—which indicated sufficient range to reach a safe location—I continued. This contradictory information prevented an informed safety decision. Vehicle behavior became unstable. At 11:01 a.m., I pulled to the shoulder and called roadside assistance. After this stop, the vehicle appeared to recover traction, so I attempted to reach destination (6 miles away). However, unreliable power delivery persisted and the vehicle eventually failed completely at 11:25 a.m., leaving me stranded. Towing arrived at 2:00 p.m. This incident involves a critical range estimation failure. The vehicle promised 130 miles but failed after ~85 miles of conservative driving—a ~35% discrepancy. Furthermore, erratic behavior and conflicting data (showing available range while warning "Empty",) misled me into believing the vehicle was safe to operate, leaving me stranded in winter conditions on an active roadway. Today there is a very noticeable prolonged hesitation during acceleration and an odd revving noice coming from TPU. This should be a

While driving in approximately 10°F weather after the vehicle had been parked outside overnight during snowfall in Chicago, the vehicle displayed a warning that said “Do Not Drive — Maximum Speed 43 MPH.” At the same time, the brake pedal became extremely hard and the vehicle had significantly reduced braking ability, requiring much longer stopping distance. This occurred without any brake
... warning lights beforehand. After the vehicle warmed up and was restarted, the message eventually cleared but then there was a new transmission warning and the check engine light went on. After driving for a long commute, eventually all warnings disappeared. I personally know another 2023 Yukon owner who experienced the exact same message and braking loss under similarly cold conditions, which suggests this may be a broader safety issue affecting this model year. Because this involved a sudden safety-system activation combined with temporary brake loss, there was a real risk of being unable to stop the vehicle safely or avoid a collision. My vehicle is within the year range of GM’s brake-system software recall N242447990 (eBCM brake fluid loss detection issue), and it is unclear whether my case is related, but the symptoms point to a potential systemic braking or electronic brake control problem in the 2023 Yukon. This issue warrants investigation due to the combination of: • Hard brake pedal • Reduced braking performance • Speed-limiting safety warning • No prior diagnostic warning • Occurrence in very cold temperatures A sudden loss of braking ability is a serious safety defect.Read more

In the middle of driving, multiple warning lights came on in the car and the steering became very stiff, which made it difficult to steer the car. We brought the car to the dealer service station and they identified that the crank pulley system had a failure and the vibration damper needed to be replaced. Apparently, this issue also resulted in the engine not properly charging the car battery, w
... hich also resulted in battery failure. This car only has about 38,000 miles on it and has been plagued by safety issues. The difficulty steering the car could have resulted in an accident on the road. This same car also had a water pump failure at approximately 35-36k miles that was separately reported to NHTSA previously.Read more
