My 2022 Ram 5.7 with etorque (25k miles) decided to park itself in the middle of a state Highway. I was coming to a stop at a light and heard some beeping noises from the truck, I looked down and it was trying to put the truck into park while my wheels were still turning. The truck almost didn’t seem to want to turn back on and when I put it in drive, the engine started sputtering and the battery light remained on. I gassed it and barely managed to make my turn without stalling into oncoming traffic because the engine kept acting like it was going to die. I stopped in a parking lot for a few minutes, kept the truck running and started back home. While the engine stopped sputtering it still didn’t seem to drive quite right- the truck was surging a little when it shifted and it still had the battery light on. Once I got home (like a mile away) I turned it off and back on a few times with no further issues. Possibly unrelated but I have also been to 3 Ram dealers to try and fix my engine tapping/knocking noise (and sometimes rough idle - maybe lifter related). It’s so loud I can hear knocking from inside my truck and from 15-20 feet away in a parking lot. All three dealers stated it was normal, which (obviously) it is not. I’ve also had issues with electrical burning smells coming from my engine bay, as well as a leaky rear window (probably over the battery pack). Ram needs to acknowledge the safety issues and mechanical failures and fix them immediately before someone gets hurt, or worse. I have read dozens of reports from this site of trucks parking themselves in the middle of the road and so far nothing seems to be done about it. I am lucky the cars behind me were paying attention and did not hit my car when it abruptly stopped like that with no warning at all. I am really concerned about this car's safety. This issue occurred to the same car in 2021 and I made an incident report then as well. The dealership said it was due to a faulty hood sensor which they replaced but the same exact thing happened a few times in 2021. I think there is some problem in the car's wiring or electrical system that is not being addressed. This is unsafe and a safety hazard for me and other cars on the road. My lug nuts have swollen and cannot be removed using the proper size socket. The chrome outer coating is separating from the inner steel lug nut. This means that the chrome coating could fall off and cause an imbalance on each wheel which could lead to disastrous effects including the lugs breaking off and causing a tire to come off.

Rear passenger doors: can not be opened without power. The car manual briefly describes how to open them (pulling up the carpet, finding a secret cable, and pulling it).

They EyeSight continuously disables. Dealership cannot find any codes or issues with it. They say it is the weather, dirty windshield, clouds. It has been happening since week 3 of ownership. I clean the windshield all the time, there is no clouds. I have another Subaru with EyeSight and it doesn’t disable like this one. 90% of the time the system disables itself as soon as I turn it on.

I was driving on interstate when I suddenly lost the ability to accelerate and was forced to get off of the highway. I was able to make to my next complete stop in a left turning lane to cross a two lane busy highway that is coming downhill towards me at an intersection that does not have a traffic signal. However the car was stuck in gear 5. I was the first car in line. At this point I put other cars in danger as they swerved back into the high way to get around me into the intersection to make that left turn across busy highway. I turned the car completely off and after a minute turned it back on. I put in drive, waited until I couldn't see any cars coming down the hill and I pressed the gas pedal to test. It jerked forward and I managed to get across the highway as it shifted into the second gear it jerked violently and made a loud popping noise and there after every single gear change was loud and jerky. Thank God I did not lose the ability to accelerate in that left turn because those cars are coming at 70+ miles per hour Down that hill or my family would have been t-boned on their passenger side. I am also lucky that I was able to get off the nearest exit when they problem originally happened as I was going downhill on the interstate and the next exit was very close so my momentum got me there. I lost the ability to control the vehicle as I ordinarily would putting myself, my family, and other motorists in danger had we not been able to get off on the exit or make it through that left turn.Read more

I just contacted my dealer, and was told that the parts are extremely constrained from Ford TO the dealers, with them stating they are only getting 2-3 repair kits per week. I was placed on a list, and apparently am number 65 in the waiting queue and

... engine struggles to move this heavy AWD vehicle. The vehicle is so aggressive when it comes to shifting up to the next gear, I find myself doing 38-40 mph and the vehicle would be in 8th gear. When I would try to accelerate naturally the vehicle growls and vibrates and makes crunchy sounds as it struggles to accelerate against 8th gear. It's gotten so loud it can be heard over the AC and low volume radio. It's across the board as well, this issue occurs at highway speeds down to neighborhood driving. It will wholistically shift into too high of a gear whenever its possible, and the only way to prevent this experience is to manually shift the vehicle. This demonstrates that the driver is smarter in shifting requirements over the TCU. Furthermore, the gas milage for the first 12-to-15,000 miles failed to meet the specified expectations, additionally, the computer is aggressive in its calculations for the achieved MPG, and hand calculations tend to show they are off by 2 to 3 mpg consistently. I took the opportunity to change the oil in the vehicle early (1,500 miles) knowing that break in periods could have small metal build up as components seat and find their mark etc. To my Suprise, I was met with a substantial (in my opinion) amount of rolled metal material and metallic material in the oil. I took pictures and videos and decided to continue to change the oil every 2,000 miles to document changes. Currently the vehicles last oil change was at 25,000 miles and there is still a concerning amount of metallic material and occasionally rolled pieces of metal during oil changes.Read more

When the vehicle has the auto start-stop activated it will randomly kill the engine entirely when you go to drive forward from an auto start-stop stop. You then need to put the vehicle in park and restart the engine. My car has stopped working while driving 70 mph on the interstate in so separate occasions. Both times it has been driving fine, with fuel in the tank, and all of the sudden it shuts off and completely loses power. I’ve had certified Subaru mechanics tear this thing apart trying to figure out what causes the issue but they can’t find anything wrong. I’m scared this is going to happen again and will put me in a dangerous situation in the middle of a highway or on the side of the road. This is definitely an issue putting myself and others at risk. It seems similar to other issues Subaru crosstreks have had in close model years to mine (20 where recalls have been issued for fuel pump malfunctions etc. Please look into this, this could cause a terrible wreck and needs to be resolved ASAP.Read more

... fic but my engine and transmission falls under the classification of the recall “1.0L Fox GTDI engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.” Recall is for 2016-2018 and mine is a 2018. The condition and symptoms of just under 49k miles has these ongoing, Non-repairable issues as it’s since had its Clutch motor replaced, Transmission Control Module that was on a National back order because thousands of other vehicles identical to mine have the same issues but some do and some have “no recalls on their VINs” but after even this part was replaced, my vehicle still being in the service center, just like other past and pending lawsuits have stated - one part is replaced and the other malfunctions because now, after 5 months and four clear diagnostics - after the TCM was replaced, my vehicles Clutch Levers have malfunctioned all while still not operating the vehicle. The battery was also completely dead after being tested and fully replaced less than 3k miles ago. These Clutch Levers part is apparently not covered under any warranties and the manufacturer is not willing to pay for out of pocket expenses nor am I in the position to continue to invest in repairing, diagnosis, insurances, transportation, etc., but I don’t want to sell a vehicle that’s not safe to drive. I’d like some sort of an arbitration or buy-back option with the manufacturer but they’ve declined accountability because they’ve stated my VIN has no recall, and they’re administered from this department. I’ve filed several ongoing claims and I really hope this could be investigated internally as time is of the essence!Read more

The airbag sensor light is indicating a sensor needs replacement. I have replaced airbags on both the driver and passenger side due to recall. Diagnostics state it is the sensor, passenger side. I have attempted to have repaired, and after 5 weeks and 4 mechanics, no one can seem to get the new sensor to connect to the system and work properly. I did not have a vehicle for weeks! I have purchased a 2022 Evoque as a certified preowned vehicle. Only a few days after the delivery, the car had to be towed back to the dealership due to multiple error messages that caused the vehicle to shift into Neutral on its own, and it did not allow changing gears after that -- it was not possible to move the vehicle. The dealership reported the vehicle was "dead" on arrival, and they said they had to replace a sensor module, which was found faulty. The car was delivered back to me as "fixed". However, I started to get the same messages again about a week later with additional errors of "Hill Descent Control not available", "ATPC not available", "OK to drive with caution Stability control not available", and "Driver Assistance features not available" messages. As mentioned above, the car places itself in neutral position every time this happens, and does not allow the gear to be changed. I got stranded in various locations 3 times in 3 months. I took the car to the dealership to take a look at the car again to find out what the problem is, which apparently was not fixed through the previous attempt. However, they reported that the problem cannot be replicated and considered the case closed. I reached out to Land Rover corporate, who contacted the dealership to assist with troubleshooting and review the car's "black box". They again said that retailer has not been able to duplicate the issue, nor have they been able to capture any stored fault codes in the vehicle pertaining to the event. Even though, all 3 occurrences are documented with date/timestamped videos and pictures, dealership cannot identify why vehicle randomly shifts into Neutral and becomes inoperable. They are selling new fully equipped vehicles with computers chips just fine. Can you handle and have GMC install their backlog of computer chips? There are many safety features that DO NOT work, like parking assit and basically all warnings like when backing up etc.

I was shocked to see that others complained of this same issue and also the engine smoking and now not functioning. I would like to file a complaint and/or generate a Class Action Lawsuit because Kia knows that most of their engines are no good, yet they only opted to cover those three cars who’s replacement engines were the cheapest. What about those of us with these Cadenzas who are now stuck with a non operating car, especially after working hard for over 6years to pay it off to have the engine blow or head gaskets, when this matter could have been taken care of years ago. My car stopped on February 16, yet I cannot even get a diagnostic appointment until March 21, 2023. I am the second owner of this vehicle purchased 2017, via a trade in of my paid off Kia Sorento so it makes me now wonder if the Kia dealership sold me a vehicle that they knew had a faulty engine and or had already replaced the engine with a remanufactured one?
