As I lifted my foot from the brake preparing to drive into the street, the car lurched backward, up the downramp. Fortunately there was no car behind me and no pedestrians walking by. We reported this to the dealership and VW. They immediately took the car in again and kept it another week. Ultimately one of the techs at the dealership did experience the issue. We have a written report from the dealership that says, "Verified customer concern. Vehicle slightly rolled back before moving forward." (report uploaded) However, neither the dealership nor VW could trace this to an "error code" or a root cause. With confirmation of the issue from the dealer, I formally asked VW to cover the costs of the repair. VW said they would not, because there was no "error code" that pointed to a manufacturing fault. I argued that if we have confirmation that the car is doing something it shouldn't be doing, the fact that VW doesn't know why doesn't mean it's not their responsibility. However this was intermittent and the light would go out after turning the truck off and then on again. Dealers could not diagnose the problem unless there was a code showing. The tires did not appear worn or distressed prior to any trip This year I left Cave Creek, Az for Wilmington De. in early May . On my trip home, just outside Rifle, Co., one of the front trailer tires on the driver side blew. The tire was changed to the original spare. About 15 miles down. the road in Glenwood Springs, Co., second tire blew (second original driver side rear). I purchased a new tire to replace the blown tire as well as a new wheel to serve as a second spare. So at this point, the trailer has 1 original tire, original spare and two new tires. The next day, just outside Vail, Co., a third tire blew (passenger side rear), I called a tow truck and the tow truck driver took me to a tire store Given 3 of the original 4 tires blew, I had no confidence in the remaining original tire. So, I purchased 2 new tires (replacing the one original passenger side that had not blown along with the blown tire)and put them on the RV. All original tires had been replaced. I have since also replaced the original spare.. First, I know the tires were made in China. Service center technicians say nothing is wrong and releases the vehicle back to me. I have invoices of the vehicle taken in 3 times. Vehicle is currently in the service center as of 10 June 2023, for the same problems indicated above. Problem is unpredictable and occurs at random. Vehicle hasn’t been inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance representatives. Warning lamps, messages and symptoms started prior to September 23, 2022 can’t remember actual date. The contact owned a 2015 Kia Sportage. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle decelerated, and the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle shut off. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound, and the vehicle would not accelerate above 20 MPH. The contact stated that while driving up a hill, the vehicle shu+t off. The vehicle was towed to the parent's residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that because the knock sensor detection system was not replaced, the dealer was unable to replace the engine. Thermo control valve needed replaced. Check engine light and all safety lights turned on. All safety features were disabled when light came on. Subaru has has a recall on 2019 but not 2020 .
