Air bag light will not go out. Had it “repaired” twice by Nissan dealership in past 2 years. Light again on and will not go out. I saw a couple of recalls pertaining to air bag sensors (16V911000, 16V244000, 22V024000) but was told these do not apply to my VIN. Also, since August 1, 2023, the rear hatch back door will not stay up and came down unexpectedly on my head. I saw there was a re
... call for my year car for the hatch issue (recall #16V219000) and notified Nissan on 8/8 but I was told my VIN is not part of that recall either. This hatch is a very real hazard as it will not stay up for loading and unloading items. I feel both of the air bag light and the hatch pose ongoing hazards if not remedied. Having these two items addressed and repaired at Nissan’s expense is desirable since my vehicle is within the recall years and is exhibiting the issues noted in the recalls. Your helping in getting this to Nissan’s attention would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Read more

ODI #11516361 I bought this 2009 Toyota Tacoma with 20,990 miles on it on 11/22/2019. Then the pandemic hit the USA and the truck sat for many months. Then in April 2023 I brought the truck in for repairs and the mechanic told me t

I brought it to Toyota of Watertown Dealership on 4/07/2023 with 33,348 miles on it and they said there was nothing they could do because the truck was over the 12 years of manufacturing recall date. My truck was manufactured on 8/20/2009, so my recall ended on 8/20/2021. I owned the truck for 19 months during the recall and I never received a recall notice from Toyota. If I had known I would have had it inspected before the 12 years were up and Toyota would have been responsible for the rusted out frame. Toyota is negligent and liable for not informing me of the recall. Now I am stuck with a rusted out dangerous vehicle.Read more

While driving the vehicle it will start shaking. This has happened at different times and speeds so it I am unsure what the cause is. The check engine light will also come on. The shaking is very concerning and scary. The first time it happened I immediately pulled over and turned the car off. When I turned the car back on the problem was gone. When it happened again at a later date, I made
... an appointment to see a mechanic. The Hyundai dealership mechanic was not able to find the problem since the error code was not there when the card had been turned off and turned back on. They could not trigger the issue either. Even though they could not find the exact problem with the car they charged me over $700 to 'fix' what they *thought* was causing the problem. They said if the problem occurred again to return the car. The problem did occur again and this time I took a video of the check engine light. The check engine light and shaking stopped while driving and not me turning the car off this most recent time. I made an appointment to go back to the Hyundai dealership mechanic and they asked me "are you sure it's the check engine light that comes on." This was very frustrating, and I felt that they were gaslighting me as a female at their dealership since they could not find an issue with the car. I showed the video to the mechanic and he said, "oh yes that is the check engine light." Once again they could not figure out the issue or trigger the shaking. They said if it happens again to drive straight to the Hyundai dealership and sent me on my way.Read more

Repeated front brake failure, motorcycle is available for inspection. Front brake failure is an unsafe riding situation, prevents the motorcycle from stopping and exposes the rider, passenger and drivers of other vehicles and pedestrians to potential serious injury or death through loss of braking and loss of control of vehicle. Problem was confirmed by independant service dealer. Many reports of
... similar problems have been reported in the USA, Australia and Europe since 2012 and for model years up to 2017. Common cause is faulty ABS and/or it's related control components/modules. Motorcycle has approx 2500 miles from new. Brake service perfomed according to manufacturers recommendations by qualified service dealer. Motorcycle has not been in a collision or crash. No modifications to brake system, electronics, sensors etc. Motorcycle has not been raced, abused, used for hire etc. Riding at posted freeway speed (55-65mph) I applied the front brake in preparation for a curve, front brake lever would not move. Applied rear linked brake which did work. 3 times within less than 10 miles of travel at posted freeway speeds the front brake lever would not move when trying the front brake. Exited the freeway and while on a straight portion of road at approximately 35 mph in tried to apply the front brake. The lever would not move. On the second attempt the front brake lever pulled toward the handlebar but the brake did not release when the lever was released. The front brake then applied maximum braking without applying any pressure to the brake lever. Traffic to the rear was closing very quickly so I applied throttle to increase speed. The engine power was able to overcome the braking effect. I pulled into a fueling station after which the front brake released. I was able to stop the motorcycle using the linked rear brake although with reduced braking performance. Many publically reported ABS module failure affecting the front brake on the VFR1200X and VFR1200.Read more

I've experienced problems with the center Infotainment screen about 2 months after purchasing a 2022 Outback Wilderness edition. It seems to happen when I use Apple CarPlay (as this is the only way I listen to music and must plug in my phone using the USB to start CarPlay). The Infotainment screen has a long lag time to respond to clicks on the center screen, will freeze, and crash the system sudd
... enly. The most extreme effect of this is that when the Infotainment screen crashes/freezes, the EyeSight safety features of the car such as Lane Keeping Assistance, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Crash Warning also stop working. I'll see all of the dashboard signals and notifications on the dashboard screen indicating the features are disabled. Additionally, I'm unable to control the AC when the screen crash happens. This happens while the vehicle is in operation and the vehicle user manual doesn't provide any troubleshoot options. Sometimes the screen will remain on after I've turned the car off. I can only hope the screen will shut off and restart after I've completely shut the car off to "fix this". There have been many times I've had to keep driving without the Eyesight safety features or AC when the screen crashes. I've tried to update the Infotainment screen myself with the supposedly "over the air" updates Subaru offers. It says my system is up to date even though I've found online Subaru service bulletins saying there are new software versions released. At my first six month dealer service, I asked about released updates and the service manager denied the newest updates can be installed on my car (which is STILL less than a year old). I brought my vehicle to another subaru dealership with this issue and they said they are aware of it. The service manager also said that the software update only fixes about 20% of vehicles that have this issue and a full replacement of the center screen unit is likely needed. Why has the NHTSA not directed Subaru to issue a recall?Read more

I noticed that the airbag light was continuously illuminated on the dashboard of my Subaru Forester. I promptly took my vehicle to a certified Subaru dealership to have the issue diagnosed and resolved. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that the passenger seat bottom occupant seat mat required replacement to rectify the problem. Otherwise, my airbags would not inflate in the event tha

I have never exposed the seat to moisture or allowed any foreign objects to be shoved under it. Furthermore, I am the primary driver of the vehicle and rarely have passengers, which makes it highly unlikely for any undue stress or wear to be placed on the seat mat. Considering the circumstances, it is evident that this issue is a result of a manufacturing defect or premature failure, rather than any negligence or misuse on my part. I find it disconcerting that a critical safety component such as the airbag system would fail within a relatively short period of time and with minimal use. There was a significant repair cost as well.Read more
