LEAKING ENGINE COOLANT FROM BACK OF CYLINDER HEAD. TOOK CAR IN TO HAVE HEAD GASKET CHANGED WAS TOLD THE GASKET WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WAS THE ENGINE BLOCK THAT THE THREADS IN THE ENGINE BLOCK WERE STRIPPED. WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA THAT IT WAS A BIG PROBLEM AND IT WOULD COST BETWEEN 1500-1700 TO FIX THE HEAD BOLT THREADS. CEL WAS ON WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR, AND THE CODES P043E, P043F, P2401, P2401, P2419 INDICATED THE SAME COMPONENTS WERE DAMAGED AGAIN. I REPLACED THE COMPONENTS AFFECTED BY THE TSB, WHICH INCLUDED UN UPDATED PART NUMBER FOR THE FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE COVER HOLDER (77248-5

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO CONTINUE REPLACING THE CHARCOAL CANISTER EVERY TIME THESE CODES REAPPEAR. I CANNOT FIND ANY NEW INFORMATION TO INDICATE TOYOTA HAS A PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS RECURRING ISSUE, AND I HAVEN'T COME ACROSS ANY ALTERNATE FIX ON THE INTERNET THAT RESOLVES IT. THE RUBBER PIECE THAT COVERS THE SWITCH FOR THE REAR HATCH HAS MELTED FOR THE THIRD TIME. I HAD IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME AND THEN AGAIN WHEN THE WHOLE GARNISH FELL OFF AND WAS REPLACED UNDER A "WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT".
