I kept all of the maintenance records for the oil changes. The engine blew a piston and I will need a new engine. Driving down the road, it just lost power and died. Local mechanic looked at it and said I needed a new engine. When I began looking for a new engine, the cost would have been $3500.00 plus labor. When looking for a used engine, the salvage person said there was a recall on the engines
... . I took it to the local dealer, said I was over the mileage. and would probably cost the dealer $9000.00. The car is almost 10 years old. It was a good car. It was a standard, which should mad it last longer.Read more

#### The ABS Defect 12. Within seven (7) days of purchase, and with fewer than [NUMBER] miles driven, the subject vehicle experienced a catastrophic failure of the ABS pump containing the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) [citation:1 from previous analysis]. 13. This failure caused the ABS warning light to illuminate and completely disabled the ABS functionality, reducing the braking system to non-p
... ower-assisted, pre-ABS technology. 14. The failure occurred with no warning and despite the vehicle being operated under normal driving conditions. 15. Upon information and belief, the ABS pump/ECU unit contained manufacturing and/or design defects that existed at the time the vehicle left Defendants' control. #### The Airbag System Defect 16. On or about [DATE OF CRASH], Plaintiffs were involved in a motor vehicle collision while operating the subject 2026 Toyota Corolla. 17. Upon information and belief, the crash forces were of sufficient magnitude that the vehicle's Airbag Control Unit (ACU) should have deployed the front airbags. 18. The airbags failed to deploy, causing Plaintiffs to sustain enhanced injuries that would have been prevented or mitigated had the airbags functioned properly. 19. Upon information and belief, the Airbag Control Unit in the subject vehicle is of the same type or design as those implicated in prior class action litigation against Toyota involving defective ACUs manufactured by ZF-TRW Automotive . 20. Defendants have previously settled claims regarding ACUs that were vulnerable to "electrical overstress," which could disable the airbag system entirely during a crash, for $78.5 million . 21. Defendants failed to warn Plaintiffs that the 2026 Toyota Corolla might contain an ACU with these same vulnerabilities.Read more

The vehicle is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler with a 3.6L engine and approximately 124,000 miles. The engine has experienced a failure involving multiple components, including suspected head gasket failure, significant oil loss with no visible external leak, low oil pressure, and engine knocking. Diagnostic trouble codes P0365 and P06DD were present, indicating camshaft position sensor issues and oil press
... ure control failure. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a safety risk due to the potential for sudden engine failure and loss of power while driving, which could occur without warning and increase the risk of an accident. The problem has been confirmed by an independent repair facility, which identified low oil levels, coolant loss, and symptoms consistent with internal engine damage. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. Prior to the failure, warning signs included a low oil pressure condition and engine performance changes. These symptoms developed rapidly over a short period of time. The vehicle is currently not safe to operate due to the risk of further engine damage or sudden failure.Read more

The vehicle exhibits multiple critical safety defects that pose a severe risk to my life and the lives of my children. Most notably, the steering system performs sudden, unintended maneuvers and the steering wheel moves with dangerous abruptness without driver input. Additionally, severe electrical failures frequently prevent the doors from opening or the vehicle from powering down, creating a hig
... h risk of entrapment. The seat belts frequently jam, making it impossible for passengers to release them in an emergency. Power windows operate spontaneously, and the car often refuses to lock or unlock. This vehicle has been out of service for a total of 63 days across 5 separate repair attempts. As of today, the vehicle has been at the dealership for 8 consecutive days with no updates or progress reports from the manufacturer. Despite these repeated failures and the car being unusable for over two months, Audi refuses to provide a buyback, claiming the vehicle is 'operating as designed.' This is a blatant disregard for public safety, as the vehicle remains unpredictable and prone to total system failure while on the road.Read more

RE: NHTSA Recall Number 25V668 Defective Unsafe 2025 Toyota Sienna 2nd row seat rails. I purchased a brand new 2025 TOYOTA Sienna Hybrid on May 20th, 2025 as a family vehicle to transport my grandchildren in their car safety seats. In July, Toyota discovered that the 2nd row seat rails were defective and posed a serious safety risk. Dealers were sent a DO NOT SELL notice on October 7th for the un
... safe Siennas. I was not notified until December 12th that no one should occupy the 2nd row seats while the vehicle was in motion due to a serious safety risk, so my grandchildren were strapped into unsafe seats without our knowledge all that time. Since then, the vehicle has been unusable for its intended purpose due to this significant safety risk. I have been waiting for months for the vehicle to be fixed without any update of any kind from Toyota on when this will happen. I have called the Toyota Brand Engagement Center several times and they have had zero information to provide beyond that listed in the Interim Notice. This is completely Unacceptable. Toyota has continued to produce new 2025 Siennas and 2026 Siennas with corrected seat rails since July 25th 2025 without supplying any replacement seat rails to remedy the recall and end the hardship it has caused for the families affected. This needs to be addressed and Toyota needs to be compelled to put their pursuit of profit on hold and fix these vehicles NOW.Read more

The driver seatbelt latchplate binds and continually cinches tighter during normal driving. The issue occurs where the seatbelt webbing passes through the latchplate slot where the shoulder belt transitions to the lap belt. There appears to be insufficient clearance in the latchplate slot, allowing the webbing to slide easily in the tightening direction but not easily in the loosening direction. A
... s a result, the belt continually tightens and specifically pulls the lap portion tighter, while slack cannot be easily fed back through the latchplate without excessive force. This creates a driver distraction because the belt must be forcibly loosened while driving to relieve pressure on the lap. When slack is created to restore comfort, the slack must be maintained because the belt will not easily slide back through the latchplate. This creates a safety trade-off between driving distraction from repeatedly loosening the belt or maintaining excess slack in the restraint system. Two Nissan dealerships inspected the vehicle and declined repair, stating the system is operating within specification.Read more

We took delivery of our 2024 Prius XLE (Gen 5) on 09-05-2024. It came with Toyo 19" Low Profile tires (195/50R19). On 04-17-2025 we had to replace a tire at 10,848 miles due to sidewall damage. On 05-05-2025 we had to replace a second tire at 11,749 miles due to side wall damage. Our dealer stated both side wall failures were most likely due to potholes. We did not remember hitting any major
... potholes. However, we live in Wisconsin were potholes of all sizes are prevalent. Both tire failures happen at night. Toyota does not provide a spare tire for the Prius. On the second tire failure, my wife had to drive a few miles to get to a safe spot to stop. On 11-25-2025 I replaced these Toyo tires with 19" Michelin tires. At that time I was told one of our wheels was damaged. I expect that happen when my wife had to drive on the flat to get to a safe location. In researching these tire problems, I found many other Gen 5 Prius owners had similar problems with the 19" Toyo tires. Interestingly, most owners reporting these tire problems lived in cold climate areas as we do. My Toyota dealer refuses to cover the wheel damage under warranty. In addition, Toyota refuses to cover the wheel replacement under warranty. These are the expenses I have encountered addressing this problem. First tire: $216.81, Second tire: $233.48, Replacement set of tires: $952.92. The cost for a new wheel is estimated at $781.93. In my opinion, the 19" Toyo tires are Unsafe At Any Speed on cold climate roads. Can you provide me with assistance in getting Toyota to cover my replacement wheel under warranty? In addition, I feel Toyota should face a RECALL for the 19" Toyo tires on the Gen 5 Prius. I have all the documentation for these charges. In addition, if you want more data on other owners that have faced this problem, I can reach out to them on social media and get them to contact you. Thanks for your assistance. Consequently, the vehicle initiated an unwarranted "fail-safe" maneuver and suddenly applied the brakes while traveling in the flow of traffic. The dashboard displayed multiple critical fault codes including "Brake System Failure," "Service AdvanceTrac," and "Check Brake System." The vehicle software triggered a safety interlock, refusing to shift out of Park, rendering the vehicle completely disab
... led. This failure is a direct match to the defect described in NHTSA Campaign 25V488 (Ford Recall 25S77). Ford’s official filing for that recall admits the EBB module is "susceptible to normal but infrequent voltage disturbances" which causes the EBB motor to enter a "faulted state" or shut down. My 2023 Lightning is currently excluded from this recall despite experiencing the exact same "voltage disturbance" failure mode upon waking from a sleep cycle. This is a critical safety defect that resulted in a total loss of power braking assist and vehicle immobilization. Ford is currently refusing to cover the $2,800 repair cost under the recall, despite the identical nature of the failureRead more

Check engine light was flashing and the car wouldn’t accelerate up to speed, wouldn’t turn over when tried to start.

As I was driving my vehicle to my residence, the car lost all power. The engine remained ‘on’, and the engine revved if I pushed the gas pedal, but there was zero acceleration. Fortunately I was able to maneuver/coast to a side street and stop my vehicle safely. I also felt fortunate that no car was following closely behind me which could have created a potential rear-end collision threat. I h
... ad very little warning that anything was wrong with the car. Approximately 20 minutes prior to the vehicle losing all power, I was driving to a store and parking in its parking lot. The vehicle warned me to not turn it off and the instrument panel showed a warning of ‘Electrical Fault Detected’. Because the car gave me the message to not turn it off, I decided to drive home. I had no idea the car would suddenly lose all power. I still do not know what ‘Elctrical Fault Detected’ means. When I tried to investigate this fault, I was surprised to see that Land Rover Range Rover Sport models from 2023 and 2024 were recalled for this problem. My vehicle is a 2022, and I did not receive a recall notice.Read more
