I own a 2017 Honda Odyssey that is currently covered under an extended warranty related to the torque converter, specifically addressing Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0741. I experienced symptoms twice—once in January 2025 and again in May 2025—using an OBD-II scanner. I documented these occurrences with independent scan results in May and confirmed communication via text message at the time
... of the first incident. Following the second occurrence, I had the transmission fluid changed, which cleared the error code. I later received an official notification letter in June 2025 regarding the extended warranty coverage for the torque converter issue. At that point, both incidents had already occurred. I scheduled an appointment with my local Honda dealership (Serra Champaign) to have the issue addressed under the warranty. However, the dealership stated they were unable to retrieve the P0741 code from the vehicle and would not proceed with the required teardown or submit a warranty claim unless the code was actively present in their system. Despite providing the dealership with third-party documentation clearly showing that the P0741 code had occurred, they advised that American Honda policy requires a current fault code before any repair or investigation can begin. I then contacted American Honda Customer Support and opened a case, but was told that the dealership has full discretion on whether or not to proceed with a warranty repair. The dealership, meanwhile, maintained that they cannot move forward without current code data due to Honda’s policy, leaving me in a circular situation with no resolution. This issue was clearly experienced during the warranty period, but due to the delayed arrival of the warranty notification and the policy requiring a current DTC, I am now at risk of missing the opportunity to have the problem properly repaired—even with documented proof. My Odyssey is currently within 9,000 miles of the extended warranty mileage limit.Read more

The following is a letter I sent to Ford. I've yet to hear back from them. This is a picture of what happened in my 2017 Explorer on Thursday, June 5, 2025. As I unlocked and got into my car, I realized the seat was moving forward. I tried to get out of the seat, but it was difficult because the space was closing in. I managed to squeeze out of the space before it totally closed me in and pinned
... me between the seat and steering wheel. As you can see from the picture, the seat is as close to the steering wheel and console as possible. The steering wheel was 7 inches from the seatback and 7 inches from the seat bottom. The seat was 2 inches from the console. This is extremely dangerous. This is not the first time this has happened. This has occurred at least ten times. Sometimes it is when I get in the vehicle as happened June 5. One time I was pinned between the steering wheel and seat and my legs were jammed into the console. Fortunately, I was able to extricate myself with only a few scrapes and bruises. While it is happening, I try the side buttons that control the seat and other ways to stop it, but nothing I do stops the movement once it begins. The only way to avoid being pinned in is to get out while the seat is moving. Other times it has happened when I am not in the car. I unlock and open the door to get in and the seat has moved itself and is as far up to the steering wheel as physically possible. The first time this happened; I told the service desk at the dealer when I was having work done on the SUV. They checked and said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it.`Read more

Owned the 2021 Honda Passport for 4 years and have had multiple issues over that time. 1st. Electrical issues. Randomly while driving the center/head unit will continuously restart on a loop until vehicle is turned off and turned back on. 2nd. The speakers make crackling noises randomly while driving. Even when the audio/speakers are turned off the crackling continues. (Very loud and annoying)
... 3rd. The Passport sometimes shuts off completely when stopped at red lights and has difficultly turning back on / restarting. This showed an error that there was a battery issue, which the battery had just been replaced a month or two earlier. It said something about being in accessory mode. 4th. The sensor that tracks oncoming traffic goes off sporadically. There are times on single lane roads that the car forces the breaks on because it senses cars on the other side. 5th. There has been issues while accelerating that feel like the car is having trouble shifting. It continues to rev but not go, when letting off the gas it almost feels like its doing an engine break to get back down to a certain rpm or something. Had the whole car bouncing, had to pull over and turn off the car to get it to start working properly. *** All of that said, this car has been and continues to feel unsafe to drive for multiple reasons listed above. I'd be more than happy to go into more detail for them if needed. ***Read more

On Friday, June 13, 2025, while (thankfully) in my driveway, the transmission broke on my 2021 Subaru Ascent in my driveway. I simply started my car, put it in reverse, and my car jerked and stopped. NO prior warning. I was on a slight slope. I thank my lucky stars I did not have my kids out on the road when it happened. I had to have it towed to the closest Subaru dealership (a $395 charge).
... Upon inspection, my transmission (the CVT model) was no longer working. My car was bought in December 2021 and it has around 80,000 miles on it. In researching, I saw that the 2019 and 2020 models with the CVT had been recalled (or had their warranties extended to 100,000 miles coverage) for the EXACT thing that happened to my car. If I am correct, my car was manufactured in November of 2020 from what I was told. I find it so hard to imagine that a transmission should fail due to "no reason" at this point, my car is not even 5 years old! The fact that this has happened on cars right in the timeframe of when mine was made, it's hard to imagine I should have to pay almost $10,000 for a new transmission when the history of these transmissions failing have been quite newsworthy! It was not fixable, the only choice I was given was to buy a new transmission. In today's economy, I just find this unacceptable.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this complaint to formally alert the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to what I believe is a recurring and potentially dangerous defect in the Polestar 3 — specifically, a failure of the air conditioning system. In my case, the A/C began malfunctioning just one month after I received the vehicle. The system frequently fails to cool, blows warm
... air, or cycles inconsistently — even in extreme heat. This creates a safety and comfort risk, particularly in regions with high summer temperatures. While Polestar has pushed multiple software updates that claim to improve HVAC performance, none have resolved the issue. This is only one of several problems I’ve experienced with the vehicle. There has been a litany of other issues, including software instability, unreliable app connectivity, and system behavior that seems inconsistent with expected performance for a new vehicle. However, the A/C failure remains the most significant and dangerous problem. What’s more troubling is Polestar’s lack of responsiveness. I have attempted to resolve this through customer service and even escalated the matter to their legal department. I’ve received no reply. Most recently, I attempted to have my vehicle towed to the Costa Mesa, California service center using Polestar Roadside Assistance. Despite repeated efforts, I was unable to reach anyone at the service center to coordinate the tow. I was left stranded with no resolution or support. I have now exhausted all reasonable avenues with the manufacturer. Given the combination of a critical HVAC failure, unresponsiveness from the manufacturer, and what appears to be a broader trend among other owners, I urge NHTSA to investigate whether this issue warrants a safety recall or broader intervention. I am happy to provide documentation, including my VIN, service history, and records of my communications, upon request. Subaru has released a service bulletin regarding concerns with the Thermo Control Valve in specific vehicles. Despite evidence indicating that the issue with the engine area is unrelated to the vehicle's rebuilt title, Subaru has chosen not t

This unequal treatment of titled vehicle owners is unjust, especially considering that these vehicles have passed all necessary local inspections and regulations to be deemed roadworthy. All vehicles falling within the designated mileage and age parameters should qualify for assistance. In the accompanying service bulletin, Subaru acknowledges fault by stating that they have developed a more reliable and durable component. A P26A3 check engine light code.Read more

Immediate Attention Required – Vehicle Left in Dangerous, Inoperable Condition by Krietz Auto Dealership in Frederick, MD. I am writing with extreme urgency to request your immediate attention and intervention regarding a critical issue involving Krietz Auto Dealership. I have been a loyal customer of Krietz Auto since I purchased my vehicle from them in 2020. Recently, I brought my truck in d
... ue to a loud noise coming from under the hood. I was told the rear differential needed to be replaced. To my knowledge, there were no other major issues at the time. After the dealership had my vehicle in their possession for over a month, I was shocked to receive it back in far worse condition. Upon picking up the vehicle, it could not idle without overheating. I attempted to drive home with my young child in the vehicle, only to realize it could not travel over 30 miles per hour without the temperature spiking dangerously high. Tragically, the vehicle has now completely broken down and is no longer drivable. I am being forced to have it towed to another repair shop at my own expense. What was originally a routine service appointment has now escalated into a situation that has left me without transportation and has put the safety of both myself and my child in serious jeopardy. This level of negligence is unacceptable. I trusted Krietz Auto with my vehicle and my family’s safety. I now fear the damage was either worsened or created during the time the vehicle was in their care. I am respectfully requesting that this situation be thoroughly investigated and immediately rectified. This is no longer just a service complaint — it is a matter of public safety and accountability.Read more
