Engine failure and metal debris and timing belt slipped time. Loss of power and we parked it flashing engine light. Massey Hyundai said it’s not a recall but when I research there’s a lot of engine failure recalls so I’m not quite understanding what the situation is and we still owe money on the vehicle. They basically told us to junk it. This has been the worst situation I have ever went th
... rough with a vehicle. I’ve never owned a Hyundai and I probably never will ever buy another Hyundai. I just wanna know why my engine failed and nobody can tell me why Massey hundai cannot tell me why. they just want me to remove it from their service center or they’re gonna charge me $500 to dispose of it. I’ve never heard of such stuff in my life. This is too overwhelming, especially when it happened. My daughter just had reconstructive foot ankle surgery and has pins in her foot. We were stranded an hour and a half away from home at a doctors appointment for a check up for her foot. Our Insurance towed it, but left us standing and hundred degree weather which was a complete nightmare, especially when you have someone that can’t walk and just had surgery not that that’s any of your fault. I just want to know why my engine failed why there was metal debris why can’t no one tell me. $10,000 for a new motor or charge you $500 to remove it from our lot. I can’t even lie about this stuff. It’s insane. I still owe money on the vehicle. I had to refinance it during Covid. If you could just like, give me some sort of information I don’t even know where to turn to at this point and if I can’t turn to the dealership, who do I turn to.Read more

Coolant leaking into engine destroying spark plugs and ignition coils and damaging the engine
Incident date: Jul 16, 2025
The first issue appeared when I came to a stop at a light. The auto start/stop feature malfunctioned and left my truck dead in the middle of a busy intersection and wouldn’t turn back on right away. Eventually it turned on and I was able to make it home safely. I thought this was a one time thing as the truck then appeared to be working fine after. But then it happened again after that where it
... wouldn’t restart after the auto start/stop function didn’t restart the engine. When I brought it in to the dealership they diagnosed the problem as a faulty etorque motor and replaced the unit in July, 2023, about a year and a half after I bought the truck brand new. Now 2 years later, the issue is happening again. This time the check engine light came on, then a few minutes later the battery low voltage light came on, all while I was driving at speed on the expressway. The truck never shut off and I was able to make it to my destination safely but I feared the same issue from 2 years ago was happening again. I immediately had the 12v battery replaced under the hood the same day and got an oil change to make sure it wasn’t either of those things triggering the check engine light. The check engine light remained on and so I was able to bring it to the dealership with the battery voltage gauge reading 11.2 at the lowest while on the way. They hooked up the code reader for the check engine light which showed error code: P0A78 - Drive Motor A Inverter Performance, leaving me unable to drive the truck home as it is unsafe to drive at this point for fear the truck would lose power while under way. As it stands, truck is at the dealership awaiting further diagnostics for the same issue that’s been happening since I bought the truck new in December, 2021.Read more

While test driving a 2017 RAM 3500 6.7L Cummins diesel at Cherry Hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, both the check engine light and the regen warning light came on simultaneously. I returned to the dealership, looked up the regen warning, then retrieved my BlueDriver OBD2 scanner from my own vehicle. I scanned the truck on-site and ran live data. The scan confirmed the diese
... l particulate filter (DPF) was 100% full, and the regeneration system was not functioning. Permanent fault code P242F was stored, and the exhaust backpressure reading was over 25 PSI at idle — indicating a severely blocked system. These faults were not disclosed by the dealership, and no inspection or documentation from a diesel technician was available. I later discovered the truck also has an open safety recall (Manufacturer Recall Number: C4B / NHTSA Recall Number: 24V-896) for a potential failure of the Brake Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). This recall involves the loss of ABS, Electronic Stability Control, and Traction Control, and the recall status is listed as incomplete with no remedy available as of the test date. I offered to purchase the truck for $35,000 out-the-door on the condition that the emissions system was repaired and certified. The salesperson spoke with the manager, then returned and told me the vehicle was no longer for sale. I then overheard the manager say they planned to wholesale the vehicle, likely without disclosing these active safety and emissions system failures. I am filing this report to ensure the vehicle is flagged for unresolved safety and emissions violations before it is sold or auctioned in its current condition. I have full diagnostic scan data, photographs, and written communication from the visit available upon request.Read more

Vehicle was in for routine service, oil change and tire rotation. Per the published engine recall bulletin [Manufacturer Recall Number N252494000] the recall directs the technicians to check for a DTC and if not present to drain and replace filter and oil using 0-40W oil, to replace the oil filler cap with new oil specification labeling, and provide a corrected page for the owners operating manua
... l. All very simple steps. There is absolutely no reason for this check and service not to be performed during routine maintenance. GM is dragging their feet on performing a critical recall and should be held accountable for slow walking this recall. Servicing dealer claims they had ZERO 0-40W oil in the entire dealership. I can go to Walmart and get cases of this oil. Replacement Filler Caps, which must be replaced can be quickly produced by the tens of thousands if desired, which apparently is a very low priority for GM. Servicing dealer was Heritage GMC, Rockwall, TX. Desired outcome is to require completion of all outstanding recalls if the vehicle is presented for servicing regardless of reason. Further, to specify a definitive timeline to complete any outstanding recalls and have that information communicated to each owner. Manufacturer Recall Number N252494000 has not been completed at this time.Read more

Our daughter observed a significant puddle forming under her vehicle and noticed a strong smell of gasoline. She sent us a video, which clearly showed gasoline leaking from the driver-side rear area of the car. Due to the proximity of the fuel leak to the exhaust pipe, we had the car towed to a mechanic, as it was too dangerous to drive. The mechanic diagnosed the issue as a severely rusted-out f
... uel line that required immediate repair. At no point did the vehicle display any warning lights or alerts related to this issue. Alarmingly, our daughter had unknowingly driven the car while the leak was occurring, unaware of the serious fire risk this posed. We believe this is a serious safety hazard that could lead to a fire or explosion and strongly urge an investigation. This failure occurred without warning and could have resulted in a catastrophic outcome. We are fortunate this was caught in time, but others may not be as lucky.Read more

The front windows on my 2020 Ford Explorer have an intermittent issue. When auto rolling up the windows they will bounce back and automatically roll down 2/3 of the way. This has happened in rainstorms and at the car wash creating a driving hazard. The dealer hasn’t been able to fix the issue as the issue does not generate an error message. They tell me without an error message they can’t fix
... it. Several calls to Ford Customer Service hasn’t resulted in them agreeing to fix the issue. The best they offer is for me to take it to another Ford dealer and pay another $160 and hope this time an error code is found If you google the issue you will see this is a widespread problem that Ford is apparently pretending doesn’t exist. So much for “Quality is job 1.”Read more
