Detailed Description of Failure & Safety Risk (Chronological) Component/System Affected: I have not taken the vehicle to the local Honda dealership as yet as I plan to schedule an appointment during the week of 17 August. After researching this issues it is found that many other consumers have experienced the same issue and confirmed that it was the ADAS front-facing camera and radar sensor failure. Due to the failure this causes the following safety systems to cease functionality: Auto High Beam, ACC, LKAS, CMBS, and RDM. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: All affected systems are critical for maintaining lane position, speed, collision avoidance, and visibility. Not having these critical safety features creates a heightened risk of collision or unsafe maneuver. Inspection: Only an authorized Honda dealer will inspect/diagnose the issue. To think that my airbag may not go off, from no fault of my own, due to an issue with the PASSENGER airbag, is unacceptable. Subaru claims this is out of warranty, will not pay for it, and is charging me over $1000. This is no cosmetic issue; this is incredibly dangerous, and Subaru is aware of this. There needs to be some warranty in place for this part in particular, considering it is a model-wide issue among all Subaru vehicles. This is NOT something that the vehicle owner should need to pay for when it could end their lives. Some diagnostic codes claim the sensor got "wet" after their cars were just detailed! Unacceptable! If the airbag sensor cannot withstand daily wear and tear, then it should not be allowed to be produced and purchased. Not only can the part be damaged way too easily, but it also impacts the safety of all passengers involved. I am so upset with this outcome, in all honesty. Ford has acknowledged the defect in the recall (25S65/25V404) in early June. They said to expect an update by the end of Q3, which is nearing and I haven’t heard anything yet. In the winter time the light of forward collision comes on, and I have no control over my vehicle at all. I then assumed I needed better tires and purchased them, however it made no difference. This SUV is very dangerous, and I am terrified to even drive it. The airbag light has now been on also, and in addition to yesterday's break down, the engine light is also on. Again they just kept saying it was nothing they can do. Now they say it needs to be replaced after my warranty has run out. DEF system is failing conveniently after the warranty has run out. It's dangerous because they programmed the truck to go into limp mode when anything emissions related fails stranding me anywhere at anytime. Emission failures like sensors should not restrict travel. This is a major issue with the diesels in these trucks and they need to be forced to remove anything that's not dangerous to the health of the engine or drive train from the software or hardware from being able to restrict travel. In every situation I've been restricted to limp mode by dirty particulate sensors, but the code that pops and puts my truck in limp mode says that the NOX sensor is bad. This is false and is just a way for GM to get service at their dealers. Then they charge customers a fortune to replace parts that don't need to be replaced when you can just remove and clean the four particulate sensors and the restrictions will clear themselves shortly after. EMISSIONS RELATED ISSUES SHOULD NOT RESTRICT TRAVEL BY ANY MEANS! It is dangerous to be stranded on a trip because your emission sensors may be malfunctioning.Read more

The car is available upon request, it is at the dealership at the moment and I am scheduling it to get an engine replacement. I contacted Honda because this is a Honda Ridgeline 2018 and they denied my request for goodwill consideration, I stated that this is surely apart of the ongoing investigation "RQ24013" as it sounds extremely similar and there have already been recalls issued under "23V-751". They stated the vehicle was not taken to dealers for maintenance before I bought the truck 5 months ago and that the truck has too many miles at 90k miles so therefore they will not help. This is an extremely dangerous car to own when the engine can die on you like that after only 1 day of a clacking noise, if you are on a bridge with no shoulder or like me in a construction zone, you will be a foot away from traffic moving at 70+mph next to you and stranded with no Hvac system. I was personally in my car for an hour and a half in the deep south in the middle of summer, so 90+ degree temps without A/C. Also I bought this from Carvana who did a "150 multi-point inspection" of the car and missed this and refuses to help in any way, they just stated "Oh sorry to hear that" and then closed the chat, so don't buy from Carvana, they won't help you at all.Read more

Purchased the 2024 Trax in April 2024 and immediately received a critical engine and transmission notification the same day we took delivery. Returned the vehicle to the dealership and was told it was an faulty oil sensor issue, which they took care of. The car now has ~9,500 miles and the engine failed yesterday. ... gine and tail pipe, the engine light and oil light came on, and a message on the dashboard said to turn off the engine immediately. The engine seized and began leaking all of the oil/fluid out onto the pavement. We had to pull onto the left shoulder of the freeway because the engine seized, which is extremely dangerous (the tow truck driver was nearly hit trying to load the vehicle onto the flatbed tow truck). The Trax had just been serviced at a local dealership for scheduled maintenance (oil and filter change, tire rotation and 27-point vehicle Inspection) on Friday, August 8th. The car was towed back to the same dealership, at which time we were informed that a rod was loose inside the engine and created a hole, which caused the engine to run on 2 cylinders and fail. The dealer claims the damage is unrelated to the recent oil change and confirmed that they did NOT inspect the engine during the scheduled maintenance appointment. We pay for OnStar and receive monthly vehicle health reports. Besides the critical engine and transmission notice we received when we first picked up the vehicle and a recall notice - which we had resolved - there have been no other messages or symptoms before yesterday's engine failure.
