I first had this happen months ago and now I found another place to post about it. The locking and unlocking motor on the passenger sliding door is making a horrible noise and buzzing sound. This happens every time you lock or unlock it. It also happens when it locks automatically when you drive. It is horribly loud that it wakes up the baby and toddler every time. My mechanic has looked at it a
... nd knew exactly what was wrong right away. The motor is just and needs replaced. He said it's very common for the dodge motor in the sliding doors to need replacing. He's shocked it hasn't been recalled yet. He's also had many people have kids locked in the vans due to the motor basically burning out. He said it definitely needs replaced and should've been recalled by now. Also be prepared to climb over seats to get the baby and toddler out when they finally stop working all together. The fact that my small mechanics shop has seen many issues with the locking motor definitely tells me dodge isn't putting safety first at all.Read more

While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power and could not accelerate normally. The speed dropped and got stuck around 12–25 mph even when pressing the accelerator. The dealer has inspected the car

I own a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze, and the infotainment touchscreen system has completely frozen with the same error screen that many other Cruze owners have reported online. This is not simply a case of an unresponsive touchscreen — the system locks up with an identical error screen across multiple Cruze vehicles (different years and trims). The issue disables all touchscreen functions, including B
... luetooth connectivity, media, phone integration, and certain vehicle settings. While FM radio may continue to play, the rest of the infotainment system is unusable. This creates both a safety concern and a defect pattern, because many modern vehicle functions are tied to the infotainment system. This is not a random failure — dozens of other Cruze owners have posted identical photos of the exact same frozen error screen on forums and complaint boards. That suggests a common underlying software or hardware defect, not isolated damage. The fact that it fails in the same way for so many vehicles indicates a systemic flaw that should qualify for a recall or manufacturer fix. General Motors has not provided any support or recall notice for this issue. Owners are being told to replace the entire infotainment unit at high personal cost, even though it is clearly a widespread design or programming defect. Approximate date of incident: [Insert when your screen froze first] Mileage at the time of incident: ~[Insert your odometer reading, e.g., 121,000 miles] Additional Notes: •Disconnecting/reconnecting the battery does not resolve the issue. •The error persists across resets, and no software update is available. •This is well-documented online, and the failure is identical across different Cruze vehicles, pointing to a recall-worthy defect.Read more

As we drove on I70, our bike rack's locking system to keep the rack upright failed, causing the rack with 2 bikes strapped on to drop and drag on the highway. As I moved into the shoulder, the rack snapped off the back of the car, flew 10 feet up, flipped with the bikes, & crashed on the pavement. We were lucky that the rack and bikes didn't hit a car behind us. The impact was so hard it bent the
... metal of the hitch. Upon researching what others said, and it seems that there are many reviews online where people mention that the rack is not secure. I found lots of cases where someone said their rack fell from the upright position while driving. And of course these are only the people who chose to post their comments. Our rack had only been used a few dozen times over the last few years, so was in new shape, so it's not that the rack was old or damaged. It's simply that the rack has a flawed design making it unsafe: 1. The rack is too wobbly for the weight of ebikes (ours were both under the limit) - many users mention this which probably contributes to the rack falling down. 2. The twist type locking mechanisms obviously are flawed and must strip somehow even when fully locked (there are many, many reviews online mentioning this) 3. The pin that engages with the hitch is too short and should go all the way through the hitch and lock (the small curved tip obviously can come loose with the wobbly rack) Thule says this happened because we used a hitch 2" to 1.25" adapter, but neither the hitch receiver or the adapter came loose from the car, and they allow either size to be used for the rack. The root cause is the locking mechanism holding the rack upright which failed, for us and lots of others. Thule says this should be retightened every 200 miles - we had only driven 50. Thule says this happened because our hitch metal was soft, which is crazy - it's rated for 3500 lbs towing.Read more

In other words, transmissions due not wear out based upon an arbitrary time schedule. Follow-Up Complaint – Engine Failure on 2020 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] ) I am following up on a previous complaint regarding a complete engine failure in my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. I purchased the vehicle from CarMax in 2023 and was never made aware of any known engine issues. I also signed the required Lemon Law disclosure form at purchase, which did not indicate any concerns with the engine
... . My vehicle experienced a sudden and total engine failure, despite being properly maintained. This failure mirrors the symptoms of engine problems that have led to multiple Hyundai recalls in other models with similar engine configurations. Although my VIN is not included in the current recall list, my engine failure is consistent with those affected, indicating a broader issue that Hyundai has not fully addressed. The engine failed prematurely and unexpectedly, which is both a serious safety hazard and a financial burden. I am now stuck with an inoperable vehicle and costly repair needs due to a failure that appears to stem from a manufacturer defect. This situation reflects a pattern of engine-related issues across Hyundai vehicles. I urge NHTSA to investigate whether the 2020 Palisade should be included in Hyundai’s ongoing or expanded recalls. Hyundai must be held accountable for engine defects—regardless of whether a VIN is currently listed. I am requesting that this matter be escalated and reconsidered. I was driving on a highway when my car began to stutter. It felt like the vehicle was struggling to accelerate, so I attempted to pull over to a side street for safety. However, before I could do so, the car completely lost the ability to accelerate and gradually came to a full stop. I managed to get it onto the shoulder just in time, but this occurred on a bend in the road, where visibility was l
... imited and traffic was fast-moving. Multiple vehicles had to swerve suddenly to avoid hitting my car. Because the road was narrow, I couldn’t safely exit the vehicle without risking being hit. Police were called to the scene and had to park with emergency lights to protect me and other drivers from a potentially serious crash. A tow truck was dispatched, and the vehicle was transported to a Nissan dealership. The dealership confirmed that the CVT transmission had failed. This failure placed my safety and the safety of other drivers at serious risk, especially due to the sudden and complete loss of power in highway conditions. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms, the failure was immediate and catastrophic, transitioning directly from stuttering to full power loss. The vehicle has since been inspected by Nissan, and the diagnosis confirmed a total CVT transmission failure.Read more

While driving to work on I-26 in the far left lane at approximately 55 mph, my vehicle suddenly and completely shut off without warning. The engine power was lost instantly, forcing the car to come to an abrupt stop in live interstate traffic. I had no prior indication of a problem—no warning lights, no messages, no abnormal performance. It took three attempts to restart the vehicle. When it fi

I had to cross multiple lanes of high-speed traffic to reach the right shoulder, nearly causing several accidents in the process. Other drivers had to brake hard and swerve to avoid colliding with me. This situation could have easily resulted in a multi-vehicle crash, severe injury, or death. After pulling over and shutting the vehicle off, I checked the oil dipstick and found it completely dry. The engine had failed with no warning whatsoever. The vehicle was later inspected at an independent service center and I was told the engine must be replaced, and that the vehicle is not safe to drive. I am now left without reliable transportation due to this sudden failure. This incident represents an extreme safety hazard. Losing all engine power in the far left lane of an interstate at highway speeds placed my life, and the lives of countless other motorists, in immediate danger. My local dealership did the reprogramming but in 2025 the vacuum pump totall
... y failed and left my vehicle stranded on the interstate. I had to have towed to a mechanic shop and the inside of the pump had broken into 3 pieces. So I had to have the vacuum pump replaced. During this time my car did not have brakes and put me and surrounding vehicles in a very dangerous situation. The mechanic gave me the broken part to show the dealership. The dealership said there isn’t anything they can do for assistance as I am out of warranty. There was a message that came up that said to service the braking system right before they stopped working.Read more

Complaint Summary: The passenger-side airbag sensor in my 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS has been malfunctioning continuously since I purchased the car as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Park Place Porsche Dallas. The car displays repeated warnings to “Contact your dealer for assistance,” and the passenger-side airbag has been confirmed as non-functional. Details of the Defect: Porsche has acknow
... ledged that this issue is part of an official recall, but there is no repair available and no timeline for when one will be provided. I have had the vehicle in service multiple times (over three months cumulative downtime), yet the defect persists with no remedy offered. Porsche has informed me the vehicle is still “drivable,” but the passenger seat is unsafe to use, and there is potential systemic risk to the driver and other passengers given the nature of the defect. Safety Concern: The fact that the passenger-side airbag does not function makes the vehicle unsafe for occupants. Returning this vehicle to me without a remedy places me, my passengers, and the public at risk. Manufacturer Response: Porsche has refused to provide a fix, a replacement vehicle, or a buyback. They continue to return the vehicle to me in this unsafe condition, stating only that the car is “drivable.” Requested Action: I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Porsche’s handling of this recall, specifically: Why a known safety-critical defect has not been repaired for over two years. Why Porsche continues to return vehicles with disabled airbags to customers without remedy. What steps Porsche will be required to take to protect owners and ensure compliance with federal safety requirements. Owner Impact: I cannot safely use the front passenger seat of my car, and I have no assurance that other airbags will function correctly. This situation has caused significant inconvenience, financial loss, and safety risk to me and my family.Read more

I have a 2019 Nissan Altima SR 2.5. I have currently had the car for about 3 or 4 years now. For most of the time I have had the car, the check engine light stays on. I have had it tested, and it always states that it is the Mass Air Flow Sensor. When sitting in park idling, it will "malfunction" and state that the engine is reducing power. During this, the automatic emergency brake warning light
... and the VDC light will come on. It's rare that it happens while I am driving but it has happened. I recently had the vehicle checked again and again it stated that the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the Grille Shutter Actuator were throwing codes along with some other minor items. I purchased the MAFS and replaced it in hope that this would correct a lot of the idling issues, however after a few days of driving the vehicle, it again has started to malfunction and idle harshly. I do know it typically happens in the morning recently, but I was also having issues with my battery draining for no reason. This car is a certified lemon. I currently don't know what to do, as this sight states I have no unrepaired recalls for this vehicle, and I currently owe too much money to trade it in.Read more
