Both front tires have premature wear to the outer edge. Additionally, all four tires have warned to 3/32" with less than 30,000 miles on them. Vehicle has been serviced by Toyota every 5,000 miles. They keep pointing the finger at each other leaving the customer with zero resolution. Others have replaced the tires but having the same issue reoccur. Then, a few hours later at around midnight the neighbor saw the windshield completely cracked through and it looked like an explosion occurred. The fire department then came to extinguish the car.

As I was sitting at a red light, I tapped the “comfort” button on the center screen to try to adjust the air conditioner. ... painful and jolting. I tried turning down the volume using the volume dial. It didn’t work. Nothing would turn it down. The volume setting showed it was already at zero on the screen. It continued to blast us until I saw I could push the volume button to power off the screen. That stopped it but my daughter and I were both very shaken and upset. It was the loudest sound we’ve ever heard and it went on for at least 5-6 seconds. She was able to cover her ears, I was not because I was desperately trying to find a way to turn it off. I am thankful it happened at a red light or I’m afraid it would have caused an accident. I reported it to the rental agency immediately upon getting to our hotel. I was scared it would happen again and cause an accident, so I tried to do what they suggested, which was to try the volume controls behind the steering wheel. It did not work. We were exposed to this horrible volume at least 3 more times for closer to 10 seconds each before we were able to figure out how to turn off surround sound, which stopped the noise but enabled us to still use the screen. I returned the rental truck on 11/22/25 and reported it again to another agent. He confirmed the note was still in the system from when I first reported it and assured me they would look into it. My ears still hurt and my hearing is still muffled. I keep having to ask my daughter to repeat herself. Loud sounds, like announcements in the airport or on the plane are painful. These failures disable several integrated safety systems and create a serious safety risk due to changes in braking performance, loss of stability control, and disabled collision-avoidance functions. Diagnostic scans from both the dealership and an independent mechanic repeatedly show: P1578 — Brake System Malfunction P265B — Rocker Arm Actuator Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1) Both codes reappear even after being cleared. The vehicle was with Loving Toyota Lufkin, TX multiple times over seven months. They received over $7,100 in insurance payments for repairs, $463 towing cost (due to the negligence of Loving Toyota) and almost $1,500 in rental cars (Paid by State Farm) but were unable to diagnose or fix the underlying failure. Loving Toyota also provided a courtesy rental for 7+ weeks while they did no repairs to the car. The safety warnings continue to occur. Toyota Corporate is now involved but the vehicle remains unsafe to drive. The same code P265B is present that was present back in April 2025. This car is not safe! The failure began with the water pump, which caused coolant loss and intermittent overheating that was not accurately reflected on the dashboard temperature gauge. ... chain tensioners lost pressure, allowing the chain to slacken and eventually jump. This caused catastrophic internal engine damage, including piston-valve contact and metal contamination, requiring a full engine replacement. This sequence — water pump failure → overheating → timing-chain tensioner collapse → engine destruction — is known to occur on Jaguar’s 3.0L supercharged V6 engines. Multiple owners have reported similar symptoms (water pump failures, chain rattle, chain slack, engine ticking, and full failure). Jaguar’s own Technical Topics documents acknowledge timing-chain slack due to tensioner issues on these engines. This is a safety defect because the engine can shut down suddenly while driving, which puts the driver and others at risk. My engine failed unexpectedly, without sufficient warning on the instrument cluster, creating a dangerous situation. I request that NHTSA investigate this defect pattern to determine whether a recall or manufacturer action is necessary to prevent further engine failures and safety risks.Read more

... control module need to be replaced. The control module has been out of stock for 3 years according to the parts department. Reconditioning is an option but the chip to fix the module is no longer available. This one dealer has close to 20 trucks waiting for this part. The 2017 and 2018 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 were recalled for the ABS, but not the 1500. From my research it seems like the same parts were involved in that recall. I have been in contact with Ram Customer Service and they are attempting to find a part, which I appreciate, but they admit that many are looking for the part and some have been waiting years. They tell me there was an issue with the original manufacturer and they had to redesign and remanufacture the part. It seems to me that this was a defective part and similar parts to this were involved in a recall of other models by the same manufacturer. I am willing to pay for the repair just to have a reliable and safe vehicle, but I would think a defective brake part should be involved in a recall. The other problem is the lack of available parts for multiple years.Read more

I am reporting a serious coolant system defect on my 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with about 13,500 miles. The vehicle develops an internal coolant leak while driving. ... arning, forcing me to stop driving. This has happened multiple times and makes the vehicle unsafe. When I checked under the hood, coolant was at a low/empty level after overheating events. The car becomes undriveable once the alarm appears. I took the vehicle to a Hyundai dealer, and even though the vehicle is only 2 years old, they told me it was “out of warranty.” I had to pay about $1,500 for repairs, and since the dealer refused a loaner, I paid $250 for a rental car. I called Hyundai USA on 9/13/2025 and opened Case Number XXX. Hyundai acknowledged they are aware of coolant issues on the Sonata Hybrid but said no recall exists. This issue appears widespread. Many other owners report the same symptoms: white exhaust steam, coolant smell, coolant loss, no interior heat, and engine overheating. Hyundai released TSB 23-EM-009H, describing a failure where coolant leaks internally in the Exhaust Heat Recovery System (EHRS), causing white smoke and overheating—matching my symptoms exactly. This defect is a safety hazard because overheating can occur suddenly while driving, risking engine damage or breakdown in traffic. I request NHTSA investigate this issue as a potential recall-level defect on the 2023 Sonata Hybrid.
