This CHEAP fix is abhorrent! It calls for welding an adjustable part of the steering linkage rendering it non- adjustable when having the front end aligned in the future. Not to mention the effect of welding, potentially causing a problem with the integrity of the metal. The correct fix for this SAFETY issue is to REPLACE this steering linkage component, the entire Drag Link! NOT do a "back yard,
... shade tree mechanic" weld job on the steering linkage of all things! I am appalled that NHTSA approved such a thing. PLEASE revisit this issue and do the right thing. Require Chrysler (FCA US LLC) to REPLACE this defective part with the proper part. Note.... Chrysler is not welding the nuts on the drag links on trucks coming off the assembly line! They are coming off with proper, safe, adjustable drag links! I contacted FCA and they said they cannot redo the recall because it's out of the window to get it repaired again. This is not a safe fix. The recall says after this welding, the vehicle can still get a proper alignment from dealer, which is not true. I contacted the dealer and they said I should contact FCA, but that sent me back to my original issue. I can't get an alignment even though the recall fix says I can. I dealer refuses to do it. I bought this truck used from the dealer and they wouldn't fix it at the time either. I pull a fifth wheel trailer with my truck and I need an alignment. This recall weld fix is just not right, a cheap fix for a long-term problem and very unsafe. Please help and please point me in the right direction. Thank youRead more

The power assist has gone out. It became very hard to drive the truck. I was coming home from work when it happened. It’s obviously a danger to cause an accident, it’s very difficult to steer the truck. It has not been to the dealer or mechanic yet. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the incident. Yes it is available for inspection upon request. The problem continues today.

The electronic power steering system randomly cuts out. While turning on the on ramp, speeding up to get up to highway speeds the power steering randomly cuts out when hitting small bumps. This is especially scary because I regularly drive on snowy roads on i70 in the w

I purchased this new ram in 2023. About 18 months just over 36k miles on vehicle drivers side seat belt quit retracting leaving it loose on my chest. I reported this to dealership and apparently Ram would not warranty as it was over 36k miles. I got a quote to repair, and it was over 500.00 dollars to replace the retractor. Now obviously this is a safety concern because my seat belt is loose fitti
... ng. I didn't repair as i was upset and felt taken advantage of. Then about a year later my passenger rear seat belt quit working where my [XXX] son rides as it is the safest place in the vehicle. I called my dealer again and same response now the quote is over a thousand dollars. I paid 73K for this vehicle and how is it the most basic safety equipment required by law to wear isn't covered by the Manufactures. I called Ram made a complaint and was given a claim number for cost assistance to replace seat belts only to later get a call back by case supervisor saying there would be no assitance as it was against strict guidelines that RAM was not responible and would not help. Im super frustrated and am looking for any avenue to get help bringing justice to the consumer. THIS IS NEGLIGENT FROM RAM and i will not stop until this is dealt with in a fair and professional matter. I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving a high-pressure fuel system failure that occurred shortly after recall service was performed by an authorized dealership. The failure created a significant risk of engine compartment fire and potential loss of vehicle control. On March 25, 2025, my vehicle underwent recall service at Hall Ram Dealership for replacement of
... the high-pressure fuel pump. This repair required removal and reinstallation of the high-pressure fuel supply lines. These lines are torque-to-yield, single-use components that must be replaced once removed to ensure proper sealing under high operating pressures. On April 7, 2025, while driving at highway speed, the high-pressure fuel line connected to the pump suddenly ruptured. This resulted in an uncontrolled release of fuel into the engine compartment, creating an immediate safety hazard. Atomized fuel was exposed to high-temperature engine components, significantly increasing the risk of ignition and fire. The failure also posed a risk of sudden engine power loss. The vehicle required emergency towing. A review of the March 25 service invoice shows no documentation that the high-pressure fuel lines were replaced. This strongly suggests the original single-use lines were reused, contrary to OEM standards and accepted repair procedures. Reuse of these components can lead to sealing failure, fatigue, and rupture under pressure. This incident raises concerns regarding compliance with federal safety regulations, including 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301 and FMVSS No. 301 governing fuel system integrity. A fuel line rupture under normal operating conditions indicates a critical safety defect and possible improper execution of a recall remedy. I request that NHTSA investigate whether authorized repair facilities are properly following required procedures during recall repairs, including replacement of single-use fuel system components.Read more

Electronic Power Steering just stopped all of a sudden while I was going up the mountain into North Carolina that almost caused an accident the only reason it didn’t is because of the pull off right after the curve I was going through when I lost all steering! With the truck already in the pull off I stopped to see if I had lost a serpentine belt unaware this Ram is equipped with the EPS System.
... I had no phone service luckily someone came by when they did because of the snow storm seeing vehicles was few and far between! After letting the truck sit for about 20mins with the positive cable unhooked I started the truck and had steering again. So the nice gentleman that stopped said he would follow me to the nearest cell service area so I could call someone, No warning light the first time at all the second time the only warning light was service ABS system which shouldn’t affect having power steering. So I repeated the steps as I did the first time and had steering again the service ABS System light was gone and we made it 11 Minutes up the mountain before it happened again only this time all kinds of service lights came on all at once, Service Electronic brake system,Service ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, SERVICE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER, SERVICE POWER STEERING SYSTEM, traction control was disabled which isn’t good in snowy weather conditions and i had no choice but to continue 3mins to the next town with no power steering no traction control and all these other warning lights because it wouldn’t fix it anymore temporarily by in hooking the positive battery cable and waiting 20 minutes which I attempted 3 times with no success once we reached the town I was able to call and have someone come pick me and my truck up and brought a scan tool I cleared the codes only for them to come right back as soon as I would crank the truck! Hello, my name is [XXX] , and I had a recall performed on my 2016 Ram Eco Truck 3.0L (FCA US Recall ID 66A) at Dewey Dodge Chrysler Jeep in [XXX] , following a recall notice dated June 28, 2023. On March 17, 2026, while driving on the interstate, I experienced a sudden and severe loss of engine power, which nearly resulted in an accident; the dashboard displayed a "Service Electronic Throttle Cont
... rol" warning, restricting my speed to around 40 miles per hour with low RPMs. I returned to Dewey Ram that same day and was informed the next day that I needed to replace the crankshaft position sensor tone wheel, which was quite expensive. I had assumed this issue was resolved during the previous recall, but the service department clarified that the recall only involved a software update and did not cover the tone wheel replacement. However, the repair description indicated that FCA US would conduct a voluntary safety recall to update the powertrain control module software or, in some cases, replace the tone wheel. Further investigation led me to Safety Recall W68 / NHTSA 20V-475 regarding the loss of crankshaft position, which I believe pertains to my truck based on its year, model, and circumstances. I shared this information with the dealership, but they stated they could not assist me since my VIN did not show any current recalls. I expressed my concern that the previous recall may not have been completed to the necessary standards to address the safety issue, but they advised me to contact Chrysler. I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter. Thank you. I can be reached at [XXX] or by phone at [XXX] . This is a defect or poor design that needs to be recalled before someone get seriously hurt.
