I have always felt the vehicle stalling and I thought it was normal since I have mentioned to dealer service on occasion if it is normal to require oil change before the recommended oil change date/millage on the dash. The answer I got was it's just an estimate and it's normal. Recently I have been searching online and there are forums with complaint from other 2017 kia Sorento owners of similar issues. There seem to have been class action settlement on 3.5 Lt engine Sorento about consumption issue. My concern is if this is a difect, I dont want to risk driving on a highway and I have sudden reduction in speed without breaking indication for other drivers to react. Fortunately I work at night and it was not much vehicles on the road. Vehicle is currently at the dealer debating warranty coverage and testing for cause. I will upload the repairs and findings when complete. God forbids I get new engine and I deal with the same issue on the wrong time of the day. The van started with very jerky shifting around 70,000 miles. The car would, at times, lurch hard forward when shifting. Eventually, a Chrysler dealer looked at the transmission and determined it needed replaced. The replacement transmission started with the same problems after about 20,000 miles. Van currently has only 115,000 miles.

When stopping at a red light and or stop sign the engine shuts off as designed. But intermittently on restart after taking foot off the brake and pressing the gas, the engine will stall and not start. It acts like a weak battery but other times it starts perfectly fine. Within in the past year I have had to have my entire rear brake system repaired and they keep stating that the emergency park brake is malfunctioning and getting stuck. I have had those parts replaced and now I being told again that the same problem is occurring. ... as still in Drive. With no engine-transmission torque against the wheels. The car is proximity-keyed, but does not require the transmission to be in the Park position, to turn the engine off. This has happened twice in my driveway as well. In retrospect I'm lucky not to have been struck or run over by the car or clipped by the door. -------- Yes I 'should' have put it in park. But every regularly keyed vehicle I have driven won't let me remove the key until it is in Park, and as I said this has happened when I was doing other things in the car in my driveway. Cracked Fuel Injector. I went on the Ford Website to find the vehicle I wanted. The website stated "dealer ordered." I put a deposit on it in August and my vehicle was delivered the second week of October. I noticed several times that a gas smelled filled my cabin so when I was mailed the recall... ... from under the hood after it was parked. I initially thought that is was because it was very cold out and I had the heat on. I thought at first it was steam but it happened again on a normal cold day. When I went for my recall, I told the service tech that I smelled gas in my cabin several times and mentioned the smoke. They scheduled me for the recall repair. After the recall was done, I asked them why they didn't replace the fuel injector, my truck had 5000 miles on it. They said the recall will fix it . It is April now and I do not smell gas but I seen smoke come from under my hood definitely once, maybe twice since then. I am not convinced the recall fixed the problem. I also contacted ford when I had the recall done and I was given a case number. Since I read about this issue coming up again for Ford and you investigating on why they are not replacing the fuel injects, I now have another case open with Ford. I wanted the fuel injectors replaced the first time... They were under warranty...The recall did not solve the problem.Read more
