I experienced a concerning incident while driving recently, and I would like to bring attention to several issues with my vehicle. Firstly, while turning onto a main street at a speed of 35mph, my vehicle's automatic emergency braking system unexpectedly activated, despite there being no obstruction in front, beside, or behind me. This occurred at a green light as I approached the beginning of the
... intersection. Additionally, I have been facing multiple problems with my stereo, including glitches, turning off unexpectedly, and the brightness becoming engaged and freezing. I had previously reported these issues to the dealership within the first two years of purchasing my vehicle in 2019. However, the technicians only unplugged and replugged the stereo, assuring me it would be "good." I’m still currently dealing with the problem of the stereo glitches in 2024. Given these concerns, I am worried about the possibility of future issues arising and the potential for a collision due to my vehicle stopping itself randomly while driving. As a responsible driver with a family to consider, I kindly request immediate assistance in resolving these matters. To address the specific questions: 1. The component or system that failed or malfunctioned is the automatic emergency braking system. 2. Yes, the vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. 3. The safety of both myself and others was put at risk due to the sudden activation of the automatic emergency braking system. 4. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. 5. The vehicle and its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. 6. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure of the automatic emergency braking system.Read more

After starting my vehicle with foot on the brake and putting the vehicle in gear it will move forward and occasionally roll for 4 or 5 feet before the brake engages. This is extremely dangerous as I'm pulling out of a parking space and merging with ongoing traffic !This has been going on for approximately three weeks. The vehicle literally has no brakes for four or five feet despite the fact
... that my foot being pressed all the way down on the brake pedal!! Last week I came very close to a major accident when I couldn't stop for an on oncoming car. Thank goodness the operator of the other vehicle stopped in time to avoid a serious accident! I immediately took the car to a local garage to have my brakes checked. They found no issues. I then took it to the Buick dealer,BICAL, and they found a serious issue. The brake vacuum pump had frozen and had actually disintegrated and no longer was functional. Parts from the pump entered the valve shaft area also. The end result was a $3,000 repair bill. The important issue here is the driver safety on the road.Although this was only occasional and at low speeds left unattended would lead to a total brake failure with major consequences and major fatalities!! God only know how many major accidents occurred with major consequences without anyone knowing the true source of the accident details. I have read online that 1996-1997 Cadillacs also have this same issue!! This is a very poor design and a major safety issue. After all there is no such thing as a minor brake issue!!! I'm avail to discuss this issue issue at your convenience. I can be reached on [XXX] [XXX] cell. Repair bill available. On several different occasions my car has stalled in traffic and idled down for I couldn't drive had to pull over and turn it off and turn it back on to go again the check engine light then stability light will come on. ... imes very dangerous. Now my step button on the steering wheel and the horn quit working all of a sudden. I found out on the site of mopar that it is the electrical connector and terminal both cam sensors and crank sensors on certain vin numbers, all 2016 jeep patriots should have been included as others are having the same issues. I cannot afford to keep on putting money into this problem. This can be confirmed by my mechanic which replaced it twice. The dates this has happened are April 2023 worked for awhile then February 2024 happened again changed cam and crank sensors again. April 16 started failing again, limp mode have to pull over turn engine off turn it back on to go again. Every week at first now every few days. Engine light then traction stability light can't go over 10 miles per hour, pull over turn engine off turn it back on stability light goes off but engine light stays on for a day goes off the next day. I do not feel safe driving long distance anywhere and this can wear down your engine and vehicle life. I bought this car paid a lot of money for it for the comfort of knowing I would have something Dependable in my old age and can not keep on putting money into a problem that should have been on the recall list also. It only has 115,000 miles on it. I'm going to the Jeep dealer next week to see if Mopar can resolve this and pay for this issue. Also this happens if you're going 1 to 55 miles per hour reverse or forward doesn't matter.Read more

While driving our vehicle (Hyundai 2015 Sonata Hybrid) around 25 MPH speed in city road... the vehicle stopped completely by itself in few seconds. Got the message "Hybrid System Warning! Safely Stop and Do not Drive" in dashboard and beep beep sounds. Thank god, no accident, the vehicles behand able to stop and avoid the collision. This is serious SAFETY issue, as this could cause accidents if ve
... hicle stops by itself while driving. This is 3rd time in last few years with this vehicles. The recent incident happened was on 5/1/2024 morning around 8.00 am. We went to the Hyundai Service Center and they did looked at the codes and ran some scans and they found nothing wrong. And they said it could be some wrong system warning and can be ignored, as they can't reproduce the issue. And told us to report if this happens, but the worry is that, if this happens it could be serious life threating accident or injuries. They said they also got similar other Sonata Hybrid got same issue reported same day, but they can't find root cause. Same issue was happened last on 9/30/2022 and one before in that same year. They can't find the root cause that time too. They just updated software that time...and hoped that will fix. But the issue repeated again. While searching on the internet, found many people reporting this same error message and suddenly stopping the vehicle by itself. Very scary safety concern. So that's why we are reporting this to NHTSA. To take action on this with the Hyundai and investigate more. Now worried when we drive this vehicle. I have all pictures taken when this issues happened on 5/1/24 and also 9/30/22. I will share those here. Let me know if you need more information on this.Read more

During Moderate Braking, while driving over a bump, the entire drivetrain and braking system with "let go", and it feels like a surge in the drivetrain. During this time braking is unresponsive until it re-engages the system. If attempting to replicate, and viewing the driver's information console, sometimes you can see the "transmission" switch between Drive and Neutral and back to drive again.
... I have reported this to Fisker only weeks after receiving the vehicle in Sept 2023. They met me in a parking lot in San Diego, where "Taylor" a Magna Styer Engineering Technician for the ADAS system stated this was a known issue. Then in Dec 2023 or Jan 2024 the NHTSA reported that Fisker had fixed the problem - they have NOT, but since moving to Utah, the roads are a bit better than my original purchase location. On [XXX] while driving to work and when running over a very small bump in the road service on an exit ramp from [XXX], the regen braking and manual braking system released while driving, and my vehicle was propelled and continued through an intersection on a red light. This is becoming a common occurrence since the OS 2.0 update. Thankfully, there were no vehicles in the intersection and I made a sharp right turn and could not come to a complete stop. Today, I went to pick my son up from preschool and noticed the entire piece on the roof was hanging outward, right off and over the side of the vehicle. Had I not noticed, it could’ve caused further danger to others. I hopped up to look at my roof to realize the rear trim is the piece that flew off, and the following straight part is what was now dangling over the side. On top of everything else, on the same side, the trim along the side my of windshield is upraised and I am absolutely torn. How dangerously this could’ve ended had I not noticed. I’ve seen other pilot-owners discuss how their trim pieces have caused trouble and even further dented some trunks. This needs to be brought to attention, I didn’t spend $$,$$$ on a vehicle that is not safe.Read more

Noticed a whirring/hydraulic sound that occurred every 5-10 seconds. Could only hear sound if no music was playing and not driving at highway speeds. Sound was noticeable upon parking or exiting vehicle. Only noticed sound because it occurred more frequently than usual. Spouse who is hard of hearing could not hear sound at all. My understanding of sound was that it was normal for vehicle, how
... ever, within the time span of approximately 2 weeks, sound became more frequent. Researched noise, and found it was the brake booster assembly pressurizing. Took vehicle to dealership to have it confirmed. Per dealership "Accumulator inside brake booster has internal leak causing accumulator to constantly run." Brakes did not show signs of loss of function and there was no indicator lights on dash to warn me of problem with vehicle. When I inquired with dealership of how much longer they would last, they informed me they could not say, and that it was likely they could go out at any time. Called Toyota Customer support to see if they could provide any assistance. They stated a support program had been issued back in 2021, but is now expired. According to support program 21TE01, Toyota was willing to replace brake boosters that had already failed and could be confirmed with diagnostic code. However, as the part had not failed or showed signs of failure at that time, vehicle would not have qualified, and it was prior to current ownership. Owners should not have to wait for their brakes to fail in order to recognize they have an issue. If I had not heard the noise and brought it in BEFORE an accident occurred, it could have been very dangerous indeed. Now I am left to pay $2500 out of pocket for repair of a faulty/failing brake booster assembly.Read more

At 25,837 miles back to the dealership for another replacement, this time paying out of pocket, over $300 for part and over $600 for labor. It’s only been a short time but so far, no warning about a faulty abs. I do have the old part if inspection is necessary. There is an FCA service bulletin out #S2005000004; NHTSA #10181550 It says if the HCU doesn’t fix the problem, replace the ECU, but that is not available and no ETA. Lucky to get the HCU because that is a very limited part. This is a safety issue because not only does the ABS and traction control go out but you also lose cruise control and 4wd while driving. There should be a recall with all the complaints. Not sure what good a recall would do if parts aren’t available anyway. Telling someone who just spent a fortune on buying this truck not to drive it because of this, is not an option.Read more
