I have a 2018 RAM 3500 with ONLY 20,000 miles on it. ABS and HUC critical parts are faulty, and I have no way to even purchase one until a recal is issued. ... he left most lane doing around 70 mph, suddenly I lost power to the engines. Within seconds, I managed to my pull over my vehicle to the shoulder. After few trials of restarting my vehicle, I couldn't get it to start. So, I ended up calling the Jeep Roadside Assistance. Due to the concern of the safety of my family on the freeway, I called 911 seeking assistance for protecting my family inside the car from the fast moving vehicles. Within 15-20 mins of my call, the Roadside assistance personnel as well as the Iowa State Highway Helper arrived at the scene to assist us. The Tow truck person and the Highway helper both tried some steps to get my vehicle to start, but they couldn't. So, the tow person offered to tow my Jeep to the nearby Jeep Dealership (Kimberly Car City) at Davenport, IA (whom I called around 5:10 PM to alert them of my situation). The Tow person towed the vehicle and also rode me and my [XXX] to the Jeep dealership, whilst the Highway Helper rode my wife and [XXX] to the same dealership. We reached the dealership around 5:45 PM and they were closing at 6 PM. So, the dealership had a technician look at my vehicle the next day (XXX) and he found that my fuel sensors malfunctioned and wasn't displaying the correct fuel reading. Whilst the fuel gauge indicated that I was still having about 100 miles of fuel left to go, I was actually completely run out of fuel. Had I not acted within seconds, my vehicle would have come to a complete stop in the middle of the freeway posing severe danger to our lives. The transmission suddenly failed on this vehicle. I was later informed that it was the clutch piston. Fortunately, the failure occurred at a stop light when I attempted to accelerate from a stop. The vehicle initially did not move as expected. If this had happened when turning into traffic, or merging onto a highway, it could have been dangerous. There was no warning light or indication at first.

Upon getting a flat tire on the front passenger side tire, two of the vehicles wheel studs and lug nuts were seized together and broke off when using hand tools to remove the lug nuts. The metal was extremely soft and broke off easily. All 5 lugs and nuts needed replacement.

At the given time of engine failure, I was driving on a fairly busy highway with my two toddlers where we were forced in a dangerous situation to be struck by a vehicle. Hours later, I went back to start the vehicle where I was able to get it started and drive approximately 15 mph to a safer area for the vehicle to be parked. The vehicle has been at the Hyundai Bowser Chippewa location in Beaver Falls, PA. I was denied for any assistance through Hyundai and the BBB-Hyundai due to 3 open recalls, mainly the engine knock system not being updated. All issues and diagnostics were conducted at the dealership where the vehicle is being stored. No police report has been filed, nor was an insurance claim conducted. The vehicle has been taken to two different dealerships at least three different occasions. Sometimes they find diagnostic trouble codes that refer to loss or low engine power. But they have not been able to replicate the problem when dropped off. The problem has occurred during the winter months but also the summer months, so it seems that temperature is not the sole cause. But it seemed to happen more during winter time. The concern for safety is that the vehicle will shut down at a low speed of less than 3 mph. When letting go of the break and expecting the engine to restart the vehicle May slowly roll forward into an intersection if it's in a downhill before the parking brake is able to engage itself. Another concern is for the person behind might assume that the vehicle will drive forward but due to the engine failing to restart and applying the e-brake, the person behind might not see the brake lights engage and could cause the vehicle to get rear-ended if the driver behind is not able to determine the vehicle in front of them has stalled. The problems will appear with no warning whatsoever. And they seem to mostly happen during the initial few miles of the day. Seat Belt Tensioner: Seat belt tensioner is not retaining tension. Inordinate amount of slack when taking off belt coupled with slow retraction. Also have noticed lack of tension during sudden stopping. The belt will also not retract up exiting the vehicle. I’ve reported to the dealer and they commented they’ve seen this plenty of times. This seems like a major safety concern.

I had driven 150 miles from my home (via U.S. Interstates XXX and XXX), when I stopped at a rest area near Gila Bend, AZ, to stret
... ch my legs. When I exited my truck, I observed the carrier support system had failed. My two "Specialized" brand bicycles, weighing 30 lbs. each, were leaning back at a 45-degree angle from their original vertical position. The carrier is rated to support up to 80 lbs. For unknown reasons, the steel "Y-base" (aka Stem) arms had failed (i.e., the steel arms bent/twisted backward), allowing both bikes to lean backward, causing them to repeatedly bang against the aluminum roof of my trailer, resulting in damage to the trailer. Fortunately, the bikes did not fall off the carrier. They were secured with the carrier tie-down straps and my cable locks. I have contacted both Let's Go Aero (original designer) and Lippert Components on multiple occasions seeking compensation for the damages caused, pursuant to the implied warranty of merchantability. But, I primarily wanted to inform them of the failure and safety concerns. Both companies denied responsibility, relying on the one-year product warranty having expired (which I did not deny.) Neither expressed any intent to investigate further to determine the cause, or to report my concerns to the CPSC, NHTSA, or consumers. I am unaware of the same specific failure being reported by others, but I have read multiple online reports (some with photos) of weld and steel split failures (generally b/w 2018-2020.) The transmission started to fail at around 65k miles. There were no warning signs, it just began shifting hard and then began slipping. It was taken to a transmission shop and the fluids were replaced, but this did not change anything. ... blems started and the transmission is still in the vehicle and we drive it daily. It continues to slip going up through the gears and progressively gets worse during the day. By the end of the day you cannot pull out in front of anyone for fear of it slipping and not grabbing the next gear. This is an obvious danger to us and other drivers around us. The problem has been evaluated by the Chevrolet dealer and two other independent shops. The fluids have been changed but this did not help. Only the dealer has been able to provide a solution which is to replace the transmission. This was quoted to cost $11,000. I received a letter in the mail that my Jeep had a recall for some type of sensor that affects the brakes and brake lights. I’ve read that a malfunction in this sensor can cause my brake to not work and can cause me to crash into someone or something. The fact that this issue hasn’t been resolved yet is beyond me. Second occurrence: July 23 2024 Mileage 45907 ABS pump not replaced as of yet, parts out of warranty by one week. OEM warranty out by 25 months. ... have a life expectance of 100,000 miles, minimum.. Two failures at less than 50K miles in my mind is not acceptable, especially with a safety related part. From the research I have done, additionally talking with other owners and dealership technicians, this is a common problem especially with the 2017 - 2018 year model vehicles. The vehicle, without any warning, suddenly stopped. I was unable to restart and unable to put the vehicle in Neutral for pushing to a safer location. Had to be towed to the dealership.
