The rear passenger control arm broke off of the subframe due to severe corrosion despite Hyundai applying a corrosion preventative under recall 17-01-013 on 12/1/2015. During all service work following the preventative in 2015, corrosion was never brought up as a concern by the dealership (we have all service records since date of initial purchase). Thankfully we had just reached our destination a
... nd were parking the car when the failure happened. Had the part failed 5 minutes earlier, we would have been on the highway at over 60mph and could have been seriously injured or worse. We had our Tucson towed to the dealership for repair as well as additional recall work under Campaign 952 for corrosion of the fuel band. We were contacted by the dealership on 8/22/24 and told that the new subframe could not be installed as the corrosion was so severe, the body mounts had also corroded away so there was nothing to attach the new subframe to. The dealership advised us that our Tucson is now totaled and it is SOLELY due to corrosion that Hyundai has been aware of and has been subject to multiple class action lawsuits over it. This is absolutely unacceptable. This car is still in perfect mechanical condition and the exterior has absolutely ZERO rust but now it can no longer be driven due to Hyundai’s shoddy subframes.Read more

Will driving on the interstate, using the adaptive cruise control feature, vehicles were slowing down to a stop ahead and my car accelerated instead of slowing down. I then pressed the brake and simultaneously, the car breaks locked down (automatic braking). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to avoid an accident as I rear ended the vehicle in front of me. My vehicle has been turned over to the insur
... ance company to assess damage. I’m sure it can be inspected by nhtsa. Mine and others safety were at risk due to the malfunction of the cruise control accelerating instead of stopping. It caused an accident. Luckily no one was extremely injured. I have neck and back pain from the collision that will hopefully heal in a few days. Time will tell. But this could have been much worse had I not reacted as quickly as I did. This could cause a fatal accident. The care isn’t drivable so it has not been reproduced by anyone. I have notified the insurance company about the issue and It is my hope that they will inspect this. There were no warning lights or messages displayed prior to the incident.Read more

Issue: Post-Airbag Deployment PCM Lockout Description: I am reporting a critical safety concern regarding the 2024 Mercedes-Benz C300. After an airbag deployment, the vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is designed to automatically lock, preventing the engine from being restarted. While this feature is intended to enhance safety, it poses significant risks in certain emergency situations.
... For instance, in scenarios such as a landslide, attempted robbery, or a collision with wildlife in a remote area with poor cell signal, this design could leave the driver stranded without the ability to restart the vehicle and drive to safety. The inability to restart the vehicle could result in life-threatening situations where immediate evacuation from the scene is necessary. Recommendation: To mitigate this risk, I strongly suggest implementing an emergency override function that allows the driver to restart the vehicle after airbag deployment if they are in a clear state of consciousness. This could be achieved by incorporating a method such as long-pressing the ignition button, which would allow the driver to force-start the vehicle and improve their chances of survival in critical situations.Read more

In May 2024 my Hyundai Tucson died in a middle of an intersection with no warning. Worse than that is Hyundai motor USA informed me that the car was on a recall list for an engine failure issue that was apart of class action suit . Ans further told me that that were obligated to have the highway transportation safety dept notified first consider cause of the issue. They told an inspector from your
... department was required to inspect vehicle before repairs could be started and or returned fo me. That has not happened and they are using your office as the reason for delay on my vehicle. They have systematically m supplied the same answer to my case with no resolution. I have done everything I can as a consumer to handle my case and believed that they were going through the correct process but the dealer has informed me their own manufacturer and corporate is not following guidelines and handling recalls. This is soo dangerous as this vehicle was Already on a list for recall repair and they did NOT inform me the customer when it was brought in for repairs before this incident.Read more

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander that I financed through your bank. Since purchasing the vehicle brand new in 2022, I have encountered numerous issues that have caused significant inconvenience and concern for my safety. In the past two years, my vehicle has experienced multiple problems, including: 1.Randomly Shutting Off: Last year, my car began rando
... mly shutting off. The dealership attributed this to sensor issues and claimed it was due to me pumping gas while the car was on. Despite this explanation, the problem persisted, and the mechanic only reset the computer system without fixing the underlying issue. 2.Fuel Pump Issues: Recently, on August 11, 2024, my car stopped working for several hours while I was with my daughter. I replaced the battery at a cost of $300, but the problem recurred the next day in traffic. After extensive delays and towing, the dealership identified a fuel pump issue, which is covered under the powertrain warranty but not the connecting parts, costing $1500 each. 3.Safety Recalls: I discovered that the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has several recalls related to faulty fuel pump wiring. Although I was initially told my model was not affected, the dealership later confirmed the fuel pump issue. Additionally, the hood of my vehicle was not welded correctly, causing it to flutter and posing a safety hazard. Despite bringing my car to the dealership last year under the original warranty, no effective repairs were made. I have been without a reliable vehicle and have faced significant inconvenience and safety concerns. Given these ongoing issues and the lack of resolution, I am requesting a voluntary repossession of the vehicle. I believe this is the only viable option given the circumstances.Read more

The engine stopped while driving with no warning and provided no opportunity to exit the travel lane of the road. No warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard and all gauges appeared normal leading up to the event. This event is extremely frustrating, but I am thankful that it didn't happen on the interstate as there is no telling what the outcome may have been......... Leading up to the
... event, I had been driving on the interstate around 70mph for about 180 miles since the last restart. I exited the interstate and made it about 3/4 miles on a secondary road and the engine died without warning and the truck came to a quick stop in the lane of travel. No abnormal sounds were observed, just a sudden unwelcome deacceleration that did not provide enough time to exit the lane of travel. It was like stepping on the brakes. I attempted to restart the truck and the starter would not crank the engine and briefly pulled enough voltage to kill all the electronics. I attempted starting it again with a jump box attached and met the same result. The computers freaking out from the low voltage during the starting attempts wouldn't allow me to put the truck in neutral to move it out of the lane of travel. A police officer called for the tow truck on rotation since I was stuck in a live travel lane. The truck was towed to the Dealer on 8/19/2024 after the service department had closed and still would not turn over when removed from the tow truck. There were no signs of any fluids leaking from the truck after the event........ The next day the Service Advisor called and advised there were only 3 codes stored related to low voltage. Truck is waiting for a tech to become available to further investigate.Read more
