The vehicle hit a patch of ice at about 55mph, spun out, and left the road. It rolled onto its right side (a total roll rotation of 90 degrees), and the side airbags deployed at some point during the roll. The way the airbag deployed actually exposed the passenger to much more danger, and caused more more injury, than if it had not deployed at all. The passenger was awake and upright in her seat at the time of the incident. A county sheriff reported to the scene, and the vehicle was towed to a lot. The vehicle is otherwise untouched and available for inspection. No inspection of any kind has taken place yet (the officer at the scene did not examine the vehicle at all, and insurance has not seen the vehicle yet). There were no symptoms of the problem prior to the incident. Passenger seat lumbar inflated out and won't go back down. It has also popped off the back plastic on the seat. This is a known issue as we have found multiple incidents online. This safety recall has been open for quite some time. I feel unsafe driving with anyone in the passenger seat. When I contacted VW, they simply informed me that a remedy is not yet available. I was traveling on a local street around 35mph and braking for a red light. The braking felt funny in that it didn't slow the car down like normal, but it felt like the car's accelerator was still engaged. Waited about 10 seconds and started the car again. I was able to put it into drive and was able to drive home. This was normal braking for a red light, not a panic brake when I might have hit the accelerator. I also check the pedal positions and when the brake is pressed, it is about level with the accelerator, so I doubt that I was pressing both pedals at the same time. I don't have an extra floor mat and the mat I have is an OEM mat that is secured down. Brought the car to a Honda Service Center and they could not reproduce the problem. They refused to complete the recall on the starter without us paying $189.00 for a vehicle diagnostic and I am sure that would have resulted in more fees. My vehicle has been nearly underivable since purchased. Several times I have taken the car in for things like: No power. The car will drive, but slowly and with no "get up and go". It takes quite a bit of time to get to legal driving speed. This has happened on a highway at least once, and multiple times on regular roads. My electrical system has failed, and all components, including my battery,

My gas tank cover refusing to open/my gas tank refusing to accept gas. My electric battery getting too hot and burning through wires, including my coolant tubes, which in turn, shut my car down. This happened on a major road. All of these things have caused immediate safety to myself and others that have been in my car when it stopped working. I have thankfully been able to get myself off the road in all of these instances without causing an accident. There have been several break downs where I had to have someone come get me, and I have had it towed several times to the dealership as well. I have broken down entirely on the highway several times, slowing to a stop and having people needing to drive around me, or stop to help. I have taken the vehicle in many, many times and have been without my car for over 40 days (if I counted, it would be over 60 days). The dealership has told me it's a 4xe problem, but then lists the problem on paper as various things (coolant leaks, high voltage battery problem). At this point, I am afraid to drive it, as I have 1 active recall with no remedy available and a few alerts. My check engine light came on again this morning with no reasoning behind it, and the Jeep says to check ABS braking system and electrical systems. It's my very expensive daily driver. It has been inspected by two dealerships, with me taking into one dealership at least 12 times for recalls and repairs.Read more

Vehicle began to shake when approaching 40mph or greater. Mechanic at dealership stated bolt from driveshaft to rear coupler was missing with two other bolts loose. Missing bolt threads were rusted as if bolt was never installed from factory as vehicle only has 12,000 miles. No warning messages displayed, only symptom was vibrations when approaching 40mph or greater.

Driving during heavy rain in Texas, vehicle lost power intermittently, causing engine failure, loss of steering, loss of braking, loss of control. This event was apparently due to BCM failure due to moisture getting to the BCM. Upon inspection by a certified Mechanic , BCM and wiring was wet. BCM also had apparent corrosion.11

The engine had burned through the oil and that was why the engine failed. There was carbon build up inside the engine, causing it to fail. The oil had just been changed 1000 miles before it failed.
