The system that failed was the wire harness for the internal brake control. This is a well documented problem on YouTube and Reddit. I was driving home from the mountains, with my 7K lb camper, and I started receiving incessant messages alternating between "Trailer Brakes Disconnected" and "Trailer Brakes Connected". The messages made it impossible to see the speedometer and hear music or calls. M
... ost importantly, I lost my trailer brakes in the mountains of North Carolina. Meaning the only way I could slow down was with my truck brakes, while a 7,000 lb camper was pushing me. I took my truck to the dealership today and paid $166 for a diagnostic. The stated the issue was with my camper. I tried to explain that many owners were having this problem and it is well documented. They stated there was no recall on my vehicle and gave me a print out of what to check on my camper. I checked my camper and there are no issues and no issues when i connect it to my other vehicle.Read more

I own a 2016 Honda Odyssey. This past summer ,while driving the vehicle began to lose power and shake. I had it towed in where I was told that the piston rings needed to be replaced, however, the first step would be to replace the spark plugs. They knew exactly what was going on because numerous individuals have had the same issue with their Honda Odyssey. Now just last week the same problem happe

Honda then did nothing to fix the issue with the next model of the Odyssey. It is frustrating that their is a known issue that they are doing nothing about. We literally lost power while driving down a busy highway putting us and others at risk. Luckily we were able to get off of the road safely without causing any issues. After slowing down to the breakdown lane, I inspected all four tires and found that tread had separated from the middle of the drivers side rear tire. I was able to slowly make my way to a nearby rest area, when I got help changing the tire out to the spare. The tread separated and caused the van to be unstable. The flying tread pieces were a danger to other vehicles on the road. If I had continued driving, the tire could have exploded causing damage to my van and to other vehicles on the road. Ford has been fully aware of its DPS6 transmission design flaws and failures for many years. A formal recall was appropriate and they have not done so all this time; therefore, a consumer is not warned of the problem through the tried and true channels of BMV lookups during new registrations, dealer records resulting in notices sent, or other lookup tools. This causes the problem to present its
... elf unexpectedly and progressively, and it causes quite a bad hazard by affecting the ability of the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate as expected. These transmissions slip into neutral unexpectedly as well, and it shouldn't be accepted that that is considered not a hazardous situation. Especially on the interstate, it can cause a crash. Support and responsibility by Ford is very bad. An auto transmission that isn't a flawed design may cost $2,000 to fully replace. The dual-dry clutch in Ford's PowerShift design is prone to failure. Even despite that Ford says it extended coverage for PowerShift transmissions, this can result in a $3600 repair bill, promises to cover it defaulted on, and factory warranty dishonored. I've been told by Ford it will make the defect right, but the repair estimate was $6800, twice what the car is valued for and impossible to afford to fix.Read more

Since I have bought my car, I’ve had continuous problems. The car has stalled multiple times the most recent time that it stalled. ... to the dealership since it stalled they weren’t able to find a problem I’ve had a valve replaced on the car I’ve had tires replaced on the car i’ve had the brakes changed multiple times even though I’ve only had the car for three years my windshield wipers have been randomly going off on the car for the full three years of me having it and the service center at Volkswagen has not been able to find a diagnosis for the issue and to me that’s really unacceptable to tell a paying customer that there’s no way to fix a problem on their car I’ve also had issues with the coolant level, always going below the max amount and even after checking, they weren’t able to find issues with it. Also, my gas cap randomly opens. Also, this last time a couple days ago when my car stalled the steering wheel and gearshift both locked and I was not able to move it, and there was no proper response as to why that happened when I picked up my car from being serviced. Overall, I’ve continuously had problems with this car since I bought it and I’ve contacted Volkswagen customer care back in 2023 and now again at the beginning of 2025 and they have been very unhelpful and I want this problem resolved somehow because I do not feel safe driving such an unreliable vehicle and my family bought two of the same exact cars on the same exact day but my car is the only one that has had all these problems, but the other car is perfectly fine and it doesn’t have such extreme issues. After speaking with the maintenance manager at Ford, I have been informed that it is not uncommon that the sunroof drains get clogged and this is something that should be checked or cleaned out periodically. My vehicle has been at the dealership for 3 months now because the parts are on back order. Despite having paid for OnStar services when we purchased the vehicle, they refused to cover the towing charges because she was on a private highway, forcing her to pay out of pocket for a service we had already purchased. During this time, it was extremely cold and windy. My 5-year-old daughter and wife waited about an hour and a half for the tow truck to arrive, and then an additional two hours while the driver secured the vehicle onto the flatbed. Since the car was completely dead, they had no heat the entire time. When they stepped out of the car so the tow truck driver could load it, they discovered they couldn’t get back inside—the doors wouldn’t open due to the lack of power. This entire ordeal was not only frustrating but incredibly unsafe for them. Having the vehicle shut down without warning on a busy highway, especially with our young child in the car, was terrifying for them. After our vehicle was at the dealership for a week, we were informed that the engine needs to be replaced. We were shocked to learn that this is a common issue with GM’s 6.2 engines. To make matters worse, there is no estimated timeframe for the repair because the engine is on backorder. For reference, the truck only has 24,000 miles on it and has been exclusively serviced by authorized Cadillac dealers. This experience has been both disappointing and deeply concerning.Read more

While my wife was driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, her vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. Since there was no shoulder, she had to coast to find a safe place to pull over. All the dashboard lights came on, indicating what appeared to be an electrical issue. She attempted to restart the vehicle several times, but only received a message stating, “Battery low, needs charge.” She con

She waited a total of 45 minutes just to speak with someone, only to be transferred to another representative. Steering sticks and does not return to center in sweeping turns. Clicking noise over bumps in very cold weather (may or may not be related--steering issue most concerning). Most prominent at higher speeds (for example, getting off of the highway) but occurs at any speed. Once you turn the wheel, it will return slightly then stick in place. It takes a small amount of extra force to correct it back
... towards center. During these occurrences it may continue to stick or may begin to act normally after the "correction." I would be alright with providing the vehicle for inspection and/or demonstration if requested. The first time this happened, I was driving along twisting roads in northern Michigan. The occurrence caught me off guard, and I traveled over the lines. Personally, I was not in danger but if there was no shoulder or more traffic I feel this issue has the chance at being very dangerous. I am now aware of the issue and can keep it in mind while driving, but I've also noticed recently that the small "jutt" from correcting the wheel could cause an issue on snow and ice. I have not had a dealership look at the vehicle, as it seems to be a very common complaint about the Chevy Bolt, with a new part number being sold for replacement steering racks. I am willing to have it confirmed if needbe. There are no warnings of this occurrence. If the conditions are right, there is a very high chance it occurs. It started roughly around the 60,000 mile mark, and has been getting slightly worse over the past year. My vehicle is now at 98,000 miles.Read more
