This has now happened 8+ times. While traveling on the highway towing either a boat or trailer, my engine shuts down. This has happened at 75 mph. I pulled off the highway and did some research and disables the Auto Start/Stop feature, which seemed to alleviate the issue. Unfortunately I cannot permanently disable the feature. I did stop at a Ford dealership and showed them a picture of the error code. The dealership did not have a fix, and stated it was not a known issue. The last instance was in November, I have not towed since then. Today another mechanic flashed the PM module that controls Auto Start/Stop for another issue, an emissions recall, but did not know if that update would also clear up the towing issue. While on the same incline as incident #1, after removing my foot from the accelerator, the vehicle continued to accelerate, even during braking. Total time was approximately 2 sec. There was no damage to the vehicle, and no physical injury. I checked, and the floor mat was locked in place. Both incidents were reported to Volvo, and permission was given to extract data from the vehicle. The data was extracted at a Volvo service center. Unexpected Acceleration Incident #3 (after data extraction, before Volvo report). While turning right and into a parking space in front of a sidewalk and coming to a stop on an uphill incline, the vehicle quickly moved forward approximately 2 ft after my foot was removed from the brake. I was able to brake again to regain control and put the car in park. Unexpected Acceleration Incident #4 (after data extraction, before Volvo report). While traveling on an uphill incline, after removing my foot from the accelerator, the engine remained at a high enough RPM to sustain forward motion. Even after full-stop braking, the vehicle would move forward on its own, on an uphill incline, without depressing the accelerator. After incident #4, Volvo reported that they concluded that the vehicle was operating as designed at the time of their inspection and during a test drive, that no fault codes were found, and that no unintended acceleration was observed.Read more

Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the engine oil consumption failure was widely reported. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer as instructed, and the contact was informed that the engine had not consumed enough oil to be considered a defect. The contact was advised to purchase a factory-made oil filter from the dealer because the independent mechanic had not used the proper oil filter on the oil change. The contact stated that at the follow-up oil change, the independent mechanic used the factory oil filter; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall or warranty. The vehicle remained with the independent mechanic unrepaired. No warning lights, car ran normally until those terrifying moments, no check engine lights on before or after the above experiences. My husband and I's safety was put at risk due to the road's travelers and Deadmans curves and cross sections, it put us at risk with a higher chance of crashing into a vehicle or accelerating before being able to make a turn safely. At only 1600 miles on the odometer, I took the car in for oil service and ABS recall. Dealer inspected, said I was OK. They then Flashed the EBS module with new firmware. 4 day's later (less then 6 miles since dealer visit and arriving home after a brief 45mph, 6mile trip, the check engine light came on. Finally after several minutes, and many presses, engine finally stopped. Car would not restart, and could not be moved out of the street. Finally a tow truck arrived and he pulled the emergency manual neutral strap, located by removing a panel by the left drivers side knee. Dealer has had the car for over a week, no loaner or rental car, and are very bad at keeping me up to date and returning phone calls. Last I heard was "waiting on approval and ordering parts". As I described via various work orders to VW Centennial service since 05-15-2024 (5 service orders ago). I am seriously concerned about the sensor ability to prevent and effectively work when needed. Today, 02-26-2025 I am documenting a clear scenario where ACC failed. On Freeway 215 driving 60 MPG with ACC engaged. Traffic on the freeway came to a standstill, the ACC engaged and stopped my ID4
... from 55 MPH. This is the ideal outcome. However it failed few moments later. ACC showed ready when at standstill. When traffic resumed, ID4 accelerated to commensurate with the traffic at 25mph and ACC kept on par with the car ahead which is intended with the ideal distance. 5 seconds later, cars stopped again. This is where ACC should have stopped my ID4. However it did NOT. ACC did not stop my ID4 only to find myself facing a red collision alert second later within car length away. Had to hit the brakes hard and swerve to avoid collision with the car in front. I was led into a false sense of security as ACC worked minutes prior. This is not the first time ACC failed, and based on my accounting, it only works ¾ times. Even failure to engage ¼ times this can result in a serious collision. Many times I’ve discussed with the service asking them to replicate the same issue reported here. I also gave service exact scenarios where this happened. ACC also consistently fails 100% on highway off-ramps as the sensor does not see off-ramp barriers. As such you can always find ID4 ACC accelerating into increasing elevation off-ramps. A clear example of such you is on Freeway 215 and 95 off-ramp. This is a severe safety flaw that is 100% reproducible that I’ve explained to my service department time and again.Read more

This happens every time I have lane keeping assist turned on and cruise control activated. The truck will periodically pull all the way to the right of the lane, to the point that the tires are on the right line and I am looking down the center of the lane. ... ng lane keeping, is to let the truck wander over to the right while barely touching the steering wheel. It will eventually return to the center of the lane. The dashboard graphics show a blue circle around the truck to indicate that the truck is in the center of the lane. When too far to the edge, it will change to show you are not centered. At no time while the truck is pulling to the right does the truck indicate it is out of position. Therefore, even though I am correctly centered in the lane, both by my own observation and the truck's indication, the system still pulls the truck to the right. This appears to be a systemic issue with the system. I have an invoice regarding multiple leaks on the engine, and loud rattling noise from the cam phasers. This engine is notorious to have these leaks from every forum I have read. It doesn’t seem to have a mileage relation either. If the cam phasers are in charge of timing control and valve train manipulation and if they fail they could throw the engine out of timing and cause a massive malfunction, bent valves, connecting rods, damaged pistons etc. this needs to be addressed as it is a lengthy and expensive repair. This effects all ecoboost engines. After multiple online chats, phone calls and 6 emails, ford is not willing to budge and help their customers with this issue and offer any compensation. Also, I had the oil pan replaced 2 years and 5 months ago due to it leaking. I think this stems from it being made of a plastic compound. About 2 minutes after I started driving, I got a "Stop Vehicle and Check Power Supply" warning. The car slower to about 20 mph and would not go any faster. After returning home, I had the car towed to the dealership. Hyundai said that the ICCU unit failed. This was days after the same dealer performed recall work that was supposed to address ICCU issues.

I have called Kia multiple times about my 2020 Kia soul burning oil. The car is only 5 years old and should not be going through oil like it is. My car takes 5 quarts of oil. I do an oil change every 3,000 miles. When I drain the old oil it’s only at 2 quarts. The car burns 3 quarts of oil every 3,000 miles.
