While driving at approximately 20mph, the front passenger-side steering knuckle suffered a catastrophic structural failure, snapping completely in two. This resulted in an immediate loss of steering and suspension control. Inspection of the fractured part by a mechanic revealed significant orange oxidation (rust) inside the metal cross-section of the break. This internal corrosion on a 2-year-old
... vehicle indicates a manufacturing defect (casting porosity or inclusion) that allowed the part to weaken and fail prematurely under normal road stress.Read more

This vehicle experiences multiple recurring safety-critical system failures while driving, creating a dangerous operating condition for both the driver and the public. 1. Dashboard / Instrument Cluster Failure While Driving While the vehicle is in motion, the dashboard display intermittently shuts off completely. When this occurs, I cannot see my speed, warning lights, battery status, or any othe
... r gauges. This creates a severe safety risk because I am effectively driving without any instrument information. The issue occurs while actively operating the vehicle on public roads. 2. Navigation / GPS Location Failure The vehicle’s built-in mapping system frequently shows my location several states away from my actual position. Even though the location is incorrect, the system continues to provide turn-by-turn navigation instructions based on the incorrect location. If these directions were followed, it could cause a driver to make unsafe maneuvers or become distracted while attempting to correct the navigation error. 3. False Automatic Emergency Braking Activation The automatic braking system frequently activates even when there are no vehicles, pedestrians, or obstacles present. The vehicle abruptly slows or brakes on open roads with nothing nearby. This creates a significant safety hazard because it could cause a rear-end collision if another vehicle is following. Repair History / Ongoing Issue: This vehicle has been taken in for repair multiple times for these issues. Despite attempted repairs, the problems continue to occur. The recurring nature of these failures indicates a systemic defect that has not been corrected. Safety Concern: These failures create multiple hazardous driving conditions: Loss of dashboard information while driving Incorrect navigation location and directions Unintended automatic braking events Allowing this vehicle to remain in service with these unresolved defects places both the driver and the public at risk. Since taking possession of the vehicle, I have experienced two incidents involving the automatic emergency braking system activating unexpectedly, despite no obstacle or hazard being present. During one of these incidents, the vehicle braked abruptly and forcefully enough to cause an injury to my wrist. On March 7, 2026, I brought the vehicle to the dealership for inspection, where it was confirm
... ed that there is an issue with the front right camera, which appears to be affecting the forward collision and automatic braking system. In addition, the vehicle required premature brake pad replacement due to persistent squeaking. Experiencing brake component issues on a brand-new vehicle raises further concerns about the integrity and reliability of the braking system. Brakes are a critical safety component, and premature wear or abnormal behavior so early in the vehicle’s life undermines confidence in the system designed to protect drivers and surrounding traffic. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the failure. The first instance occurred within 30-days of taking possession of the vehicle. The second two months later.Read more

No warnings or anything until it happened that day leaving the grocery store. There is absolutely no notification it was gonna happen. It ran fine when I parked it to grocery shop Come back out & I could barely back out to leave. I can lift up my had fatboy if needed so I’m sure turning a steering wheel…. lol Thnx a lot If I could figure out what part needs to be changed out or you could cover the parts needed. I do work in cars or have in the past, I don’t like the new ones, but this seems simple enough if I knew exactly what part I needed to pull out change out or I see that there’s recalls on previous vehicles and GMC after2020- 24 but I don’t see 2018 didn’t happen so I like to say whoever created that electronic steering can take that module along with the harness and they know exactly where they can put it don’t they I’m just saying as a used to be not sure now a GMC supporter, but I’m starting to think twice now if IRead more

When driving the car this winter, noticed the smell of something burning. After that, the heated steering wheel stopped warming. Finding Confirmed customer concern. Attempted to activate the heated steeri
... ng wheel and found the light to come on for roughly 4-5 seconds then shut itself off. Scanned the vehicle and found 2 fault pertaining to the heating element and steering wheel having an open circuit. Removed the airbag and visually inspected all connectors for the steering wheel. Found the 2 pin connector from the steering wheel to the clock spring to be stuck in the clock spring. Further removed the steering wheel and trim pieces around the steering column and visually inspected the clock spring. Found the 2 pin connector between the steering wheel and the clock spring to be melted together and noticed the wires were getting hot to touch when activating the heated steering wheel. Back probed the connector between the clock spring and the heated steering wheel connector and found less than 2 volts present. Monitored and found while the steering wheel was being moved left to right the voltage would fluctuate dramatically. Recommend replacing the air bag clock spring and steering wheel due to melt damage and further monitor voltage and functionality of the heated steering wheel and other accessories. Highly recommend not operating the heated steering wheel until repairs have been made. Could cause more damage to the surrounding components.Read more

I am writing to formally submit a safety complaint regarding my 2018 Porsche Macan. I have experienced a significant issue with the vehicle’s headlights, which I believe poses a serious safety risk. Description of the Issue: The headlights on my 2018 Porsche Macan have failed without any prior warning or indication. There were no dashboard alerts or error messages to notify me of a problem. The
... failure occurred suddenly while driving at night, resulting in a complete loss of forward illumination. This created a hazardous situation, as I was unable to see the road ahead and other drivers were unable to see my vehicle clearly. Safety Concerns: The headlight failure happened unexpectedly and without any warning. This issue significantly increases the risk of a crash, especially when driving at night or in low-visibility conditions. Upon inspection, I was told the entire headlight assembly would need to be replaced, which is costly and concerning for a relatively new vehicle. Request for Investigation: I am aware that other owners of the 2018 Porsche Macan have reported similar headlight failures. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter, as it appears to be a widespread and potentially dangerous defect. Reliable headlight operation is essential for safe driving, and sudden failure without warning is unacceptable. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please let me know if you require any additional information or documentation.Read more

My vehicle's right driver seat buckle assembly is failing. My seat belt will not latch making my vehicle unsafe and unlawful to drive in the State of Florida. I first noticed this problem on Friday, February 13, 2026. There is currently a safety recall on my vehicle (2018-2029 Honda Accord). I registered my car through [XXX] and noticed that there were two recalls for my vehicle. The two recalls
... are the seat belt malfunction and fuel pump, which neither repair has been completed on my vehicle. I contacted the dealership on Monday, February 16, 2026 and advised them that i have a failing seat belt on the driver side. I provided them with my vehicle VIN and they advised that I only qualified for one of the repairs (fuel pump). After speaking with the dealership the seat belt recall was removed from my account. I also contacted the manufacturer and they told me the same thing regarding the recall needed to be associated with my VIN number. The Service Bulletin 23-016 was issued on March 10, 2023 and updated on March 24, 2023, I purchased my vehicle on December 8, 2023. The dealership is refusing to repair the seat belt and requiring me to pay out of pocket because the recall is not attached to my VIN. However, the recall is for all 2018-2019 Honda Accord Models. Due to a current recall in place, I should not have to pay out of pocket. I reviewed the Service Bulletin in detail and I am having the exact problem with my vehicle. I would like to escalate this issue to require Honda to cover the charges for this repair. It is not normal for seat belts to fail, I have seen cars 15-20 years old that do not experience these issues. Even those in the junk yard have working seat belts. So, this is not some random incident it is due to the recall. Due to this being a safety hazard I am seeking your assistance regarding the matter. Intermittently for the last year, car will show 3 dash lights: 1. AEB light 2. Slip indicator light 3. Master warning light When this occurs, the car can be slow to accelerate. When the three lights are on, the problem will persist until the engine is shut off for a period of several minutes. It does not occur every time the car is driven. In the last 3 months, there have been 3-4 instances
... where the check engine light has come on as well. The code every time has been P1010 or no code displayed. We tried changing out the MAF sensor with a third party part, and the issue occurred even more frequently. We then went back to the first sensor after cleaning it with MAF sensor cleaner. This seemed to resolve the issue for a month, but then it started to reoccur. The last two occurrences of the check engine light have occurred after rapid acceleration. - Yes original part is available for inspection. - Safety is at risk for self and others as car can have issues accelerating, which makes it dangerous to enter freeways and highways (which are necessary for my commute). - Dealer has not reproduced the error, however they have not seen it with a check engine code (taking the car in tomorrow). - no inspection by insurance, police, or manufacturer. - before the 3 error lights started to come on fairly regularly (several times a week) I had a few issues of intermittent sluggish acceleration over the course of 1-2 years when this issue first started, but no lights came on at first.Read more

Purchased used via Carvana in Sept 2025, check engine light came on while driving it home indicating a pre-existing mechanical defect. We submitted the claim through Silver Rock (Carvana's warranty company) and brought to their approved mechanic. The recommended the following repairs, several that were denied by Carvana/SilverRock: spark plugs, alternator, serpentine belt, fuel injection service,
... electrical ignition coil. A month later check engine light illuminated again and through further diagnostics the mechanic found that 2 of the faulty spark plugs were an incorrect model/fit for our vehicle and reported that information which resulted in replacement being approved (a month after initial request). Fast forward to January 2026 we experienced the widely reported knocking noise while driving coming from the engine and had it towed. The damage is a thrown rod and damaged bearing, which is consistent with the current oil consumption litigation, requiring engine replacement. Our 2017 Tucson 1.6 L turbocharge is not included in the recall. Furthermore, Carfax report shows last oil change reported was 2023. Carvana confirms an oil change is part of their 150 point inspection before a sale, however unable to provide me with documentation and failed to report a record of the work to Carfax. There are many instances of negligence on Carvana's part from failure to provide record of maintenance, which is also failure to adhere to their standard policy, and declining recommended service directly from their approved mechanic, knowing that this vehicle could be impacted by the well known defects through Hyundai. We are requesting assistance with engine replacement meeting safety standards and ensuring consumer protection.Read more

The car was driven from Cheshire, CT to Old Tappan, NJ about 90 miles, just under two hours drive time. Combination of highway and back roads. The car was in drive in comfort mode proceeding slowly (approx 20 mph) down a street within a condo complex. As I approached the driveway I lightly braked, turned into the driveway then lightly pressed the accelerator to bring the car up the driveway apron
... onto the single car length driveway. At that point the car accelerated to what felt like max power. The car accelerated uncontrollably causing the car to advance in a right turn through the closed garage door striking a garaged vehicle in the right rear quarter and the right wall of the garage.

I purchased a 2020 Newmar Dutchstar RV on [XXX] and first noticed the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sytem (TPMS) start to malfunction shortly after. The first indication of the malfunction were nuisance warnings stating tire overheat conditions, followed by constant communication warnings and multiple tires not indicating anything at all. The current state of the TPMS as of today [XXX] is it does not f
... unction at all with a constant communication error displayed on the dash panel. I received SF644A-C from DTNA in March 2022 stating the TPMS controller software required an update and some antenna modifications were required. I received FL935A-C and NHTSA #22V-379 in July 2022 stating the same information as the previous notification. I contacted my Freightliner service center, Transwest Truck Center in Fontana California (909) 770-5170 to request an appointment to have the safety recall completed. They stated they were waiting on software and parts from Freightliner. I finally got an appointment on 1-23-2023 to have the recall completed. The recall was completed the next day and when I picked up the vehicle the TPMS was still malfunctioning (same Issues) so I left the vehicle for additional repairs. I picked the vehicle up again on 1-27-2023 and the TPMS was still malfunctioning, but I could leave the vehicle for additional service due to a scheduled trip. My opinion only: The software update appears to ignore the low/high pressure and over temp warnings. Every year during annual service, I ask Transwest to look into the TPMS issue and they stated that Freightliner has not provided any additional guidance. I have called Freightliner 24/7 and they stated they are not aware of any issues. I don’t know what else I can do to get this issue resolved so I am attempting to file this claim with NHTSA. Numerous RV blogs have hundreds of comments from Freightliner owners who are experiencing the same issue.
