I WAS TRAVELING ON U.S. 30 TO GREENSBURG, PA AND I WENT ON TO THE OFF RAMP ON TO WEST PITTSBURGH STREET AND THE TRACTION CONTROL, STABILITY LIGHTS LIT UP. I LOOK DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD TO SEE WHAT GOING ON. THEN, MY CAR JERKED SUDDENLY BACKWARDS I HIT MY HEAD TWO OR THREE TIMES OFF THE HEAD REST. I HIT THE ON STAR BUTTON TO REPORT WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO VERIFY THE CODES AND TOLD THEM THE SITUATION.

THIS VEHICLE HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHER YEAR MODELS IN WHICH THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND THERE WAS A RECALL. THIS ISSUE RESULTED IN AN UNDRIVEABLE VEHICLE AND A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING GEAR BOX, RACK AND PINION STEERING, ETC. THIS YEAR MODEL WAS NOT RECALLED AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY. *TR

THE SAFETY AIR BAG IS A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM. MY DRIVERS DASH WARNING LIGHT FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM ILLUMINATED. I TOOK IT TO THE GM DEALER WHO SAID AFTER A 100 DOLLAR DIAGNOSIS THERE WAS A RESISTOR FAILURE IN THE DRIVERS AIR BAG WHICH WOULD COST 1200 DOLLARS. THE AIR BAG IS A PASSIVE NON MOVING DEVICE. I WAS HEADING TO WORK DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY. MY STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY STARTED TO SHAKE,I LOST SOME POWER STEERING MAKING IT HARD TO KEEP MY CAR STRAIGHT.
