I NOTICED A STRONG GAS ODOR COMING FROM MY VEHICLE AND EVEN INSIDE MY VEHICLE WHEN I WAS PARKED. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS I HAD PUT INTO THE TANK THE PREVIOUS DAY. HOWEVER, WITH MY CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE AT MY HOME, THE GAS SMELL BECAME OVERWHELMING. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MAINTENANCE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED REPLACING AND NOTIFIED ME OF THE COST. I CONTA
... CTED PONTIAC AND THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON CONFERENCE CALL TO CLARIFY FOR ME WHAT WAS NEEDED. ON THE CALL (WITH PONTIAC ON THE LINE) THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT A PLASTIC PIECE OF THE FUEL PUMP WAS CRACKED AND COULD NOT BE REPLACED SEPARATELY SO THAT IS WHY I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT HERE, IF THEY REPAIRED THE RECALL CORRECTLY AND IT WAS A EFFICIENT METHOD THIS SHOULD NOT OF STILL HAPPEN. THE FIX THEY DID IS EITHER ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AND/ OR THE METHOD THEY ARE USING IS NOT EFFECTIVE. ALSO A POSSIBLY THERE MIGHT BE OTHER PARTS OF THE CABLE THAT ARE DEFECTED. GM WAS VERY INCOMPLIANT AND DID NOT CARE TO EXAMINE OR SEE THIS MATTER ANY FURTHER, BUT IF THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME IT COULD ALSO BE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH OTHERS STILL.
