There is currently a NHTSA recall on this vehicle (NHTSA recall 23V604, 2019 Jetta manufactured between Sept. 3, 2018, and Dec. 21, 2019) however Volkswagen says our VIN number is not included in their recall (VW recall number 28H7)

Collision warning system has malfunctioned more than 3 times and has been brought into the dealer. My vehicle is equipped with collision warning and active braking. Typically when the collision warning occurs if I do not manually hit the brakes immediately it will brake the car for me. The first 2 times it occurred in a residential area at low speeds with nothing in front of me. The system flashed

The dealer was not able to replicate the issue or find an error with the system. The 3rd and most recent time it occurred on the highway at a speed of around 65MPH. During this occurrence there was NO braking system warning on my dash the car system slowed rapidly and almost entirely on the freeway out of nowhere with no cars immediately in front of my vehicle. During this instance there was a car directly behind me and they had to swerve into the shoulder to avoid rear ending me after my car slowed to a speed of nearly 30 mph on the freeway. This put not only my safety at risk but the car behind me as well as we both would have been involved in an accident if the shoulder had not been next to the lane we were in. I brought my vehicle in again and they again were not able to duplicate or find any issues with the system.Read more

They took a deeper look and checked all tires and came across the rear left side tire upon removing it they were shocked to see that the axel was riding only on the caliber, the lock that is supposed to be on the axel was there but just dangling it wasn’t properly on where it should have been. They let me know it’s something rare they don’t come across it was their first time and definitely could have been a safety issue and could have put my family and myself and other pedestrians around if my axel would have fallen off on the highway or anywhere. I was very concerned and do not feel my truck was put together properly. It’s only a 2020 and it’s my family vehicle it does not get driven heavy at all just for pleasure my axel should not be holding on by a string. People should feel confident in driving their vehicles. I have only had this truck for a year and a half it was bought at Shamaley Ford. I did report this incident to them but they don’t seem to care. Mazda vehicles currently have an infotainment system that that is touch screen when the vehicle is stopped or below 10 MPH. Above 10 MPH, the touch screen disables and can only be used with the control console. The 2018 Ford F150 truck came with a cap less fuel fill. What seals the fuel refill area is the gas cap door. The door is equipped with a seal on the gas cap door for when the door is closed, it keeps the weather elements from entering into the gas fill area that is equipped with a cap less mechanism for the gas tank filling. The hinge spring on the door is of poor quality and design and the swive
... l pin that holds the gas cap door in place fails by the pin working out of place. This now causes the gas cap door to not fully close allowing weather elements to make their way into the cap less gas fill tube. From internet research, this is a common problem with the 2018 F150, as well as other years with this type of cap less gas door. I had to pay out of pocket expense for the gas cap door replacement. The replacement gas cap door was of the same design as the one that failed and I expect the replacement to fail with time.Read more

2nd report Had Timing cover replaced for a second time. Only has 17500 miles. It has started to leak again after 35 miles and has to go in for repair again. total of around 50 days in shop for just this issue. It seems to be a VERY common Problem and Ram needs to be held accountable for this

Problem with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). I'm driving on a road with 2 lanes in my direction at about 35 mph. Approached a curve that makes a slight left turn in the road. There happens to be a bicyclist on the curve. The activation of the AEB lasted only a second or two until the bicyclist was no longer in my direct path, but the noise from the brakes activating and the sudden deceleration scared the devil out of me causing me to panic momentarily. If a car was tailgating at the time, they may have hit me. The AEB system should recognize that I was on a turn/curve at the time and not have activated.Read more

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle hydroplaned as the contact lost control of the vehicle. As the contact struggled to regain control of the vehicle, the rear of the vehicle crashed into the left of the highway retainer wall. As a result, the vehicle spun out across three lanes as the front end of the vehicle hit the right retainer wall
... . The air bags deployed upon impact; however, both the front driver and front passenger seat belts independently unclipped during the accident. The contact stated that once the vehicle came to a stop after hitting the second wall, both seat belts were unbuckled. Both vehicle occupants were taken to the hospital via an ambulance. The contact was treated for a concussion, pain in the left shoulder, and a torn LCL on the left knee. The passenger suffered a broken right hand, concussion, pain in the neck, and bruising on the torso. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure; the manufacturer gave the contact a case number. The manufacturer then referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.Read more
