During rain and snow storms I will get warning lights that the power tailgate isn’t working. Last year when I took it into the dealer they said the tailgate would open and close randomly and there was water in the rear fuse box. By the end of the day the tailgate completely stops working. I take it back to the shop that had originally fixed it and water is getting in. Not from the tailgate but through some unknown opening. The fuse board is completely corroded and we have to replace it again. They could not determine where the water is coming in from. I do not want to be driving down the road and have my tailgate randomly open and have items fall on the road causing injury to someone. Changing the gear to Drive while car is already in Drive is the normal way to put the car on cruise control at highway speeds. This should not be permitted when car is under a certain speed. ... y tapping the gas pedals causes car to suddenly lurch forward in a highly disproportional manner to any light pressure applied to the gas pedal. Car then continues to increase speed from 0 mph at an alarming rate as if cruise control is on. This is extremely unsafe. One can accidentally shift the gear into drive more than once while at 0mph, and cause the car to unexpectedly lunge forward into someone or something. Moreover, the current gear is not clearly displayed at any time in a large enough font. The gear indicator is only displayed in tiny font on a small screen atop the steering column, and the gear indicator can be easily blocked by the spoke of the steering wheel when wheel is turned. At no time is the current gear indicator displayed on the larger head unit. Furthermore, there is no audible chime or indication that gear has been switched like in other cars. Without the chime, one can easily put the gear into to Drive twice, entering this dangerous condition where car can lurch forward as if cruise control is suddenly on.Read more

This moment was psychologically damaging, as I feared for my life. Eventually, the car regained speed slowly and I continued on my way. Then, at stoplights, the car continued to jerk and shift gears. Once I reached my destination, the car slammed into park, throwing me toward the steering wheel. My husband towed my car home. It has been taken to a local dealership where I received a quote for a new transmission and an oil leak repair, totaling over $11,000. This car at trade-in value is worth a similar amount. The transmission fluid was tested and found to be burnt and containing traces of metal in the fluid. The dealership has been helpful in diagnosing the repair. But from Ford, this low-standard is unacceptable. I could have been killed, injured, and caused harm to others due to this faulty transmission. I have reason to believe based on a class action lawsuit that took place in March of 2024, Ford knowingly placed faulty parts and transmissions into Ford Escape models that were produced from 2009-2021. I have called Ford corporate. They offered little to no empathy, offering a small amount of assistance, which was highly disappointing.Read more

When I requested service records to verify recall repairs, I was told that Thompson Hyundai’s acquisition by Heritage prevents them from providing full documentation—only three edited records missing key details. This raises concerns about: 1.Whether recall repairs are actually resolving safety defects. 2.Hyundai’s failure to maintain proper repair documentation. 3.The risk that other Hyundai vehicles remain unsafe due to incomplete recall fixes. Life-Threatening Breakdowns & Financial Hardship Since Hyundai’s supposed “fix,” my vehicle has broken down at least eight times, including major highways and intersections. This did not satisfy me nor when I spoke to multiple people who knew cars. Said that something was fishy. I had not even gotten to a first oil change. 2nd incident happened four months later. I was driving to work early morning, dark and raining. I pulled up behind a car leaving plenty of space between vehicles. I had my foot on the break when all of a sudden I noticed my car rolling forward despite my foot being down. I pressed harder and I almost rolled into the car in front of me. Finally my brakes caught and I was freaked out. I was fully stopped. I took my car immediately to the dealership the next day, missing half a day at work and had the car inspected. They told me everything looked great on my car and the brakes were fine. They could not replicate the issue. I know what happened. But I was told it was probably a mirage like experience where I felt the car rolling. I have never had another incident, but I just feel like that is too incidents too many for such a new car. I am not satisfied with the explanations to these experiences. An oil filter does not just crack and drain oil out randomly six weeks after buying my car. ABC Control Module - The warning lights that are on in the Dashboard are the ABS Light, Traction Control Light and the Brake Light. When these lights came on, I took it to the Ram Dealership, and they told me that it was the ABS Control Module that was bad and needed replaced. ... h power steering still continues to persist (steering wheel locks up while driving). Also the "Power steering" error message was never cleared after the initial service. I have a carfax report showing the power steering being serviced by 2 other GM dealerships after the initial service. This is an electric power steering system so there's no fluid that can leak and should not need serviced multiple times in the same year. They now refuse to fix the issue saying that it's now my problem because the part they replaced is out of warranty. The customer service rep for GM told me there wasn't anything more they could do because it's a 2008! I'm sorry but that should not matter considering the car is still under 200k miles and only 10000 miles were driven before we took it back the second time, and 2000 miles before taking it back the third time. They also claimed that safety was their primary concern at the same time they tell me there's nothing more they will do. This definitely a safety concern but GM doesn't actually care. I'm trying to prevent an accident but they are not. I got to the back and found the whole back window was completely cracked, although still intact, and there were big areas on the sides and bottom, where there was more breaking of the glass to the frame. The temperature at the time was in the low 40s, and I had used the heater from the house to the clinic, which is about a mile away. I had also fell off and is currently subject of a recall (NHTSA campaign number 24v826000). Since it was Sunday night, I was unable to get the vehicle towed so I left the vehicle at the gas station and got a ride back to Baton Rouge so I could borrow a vehicle to get back to Winnfield, LA for work the following morning. My parents went the next morning ([XXX]) and had the mega switch replaced and the truck started right up. My mother then drove the vehicle to Baton Rouge, when she stopped at a traffic light, the truck quit again and she called OnStar to have it towed to Gerry Lane GMC. On [XXX], I received a call from Scott at Gerry Lane stating the vehicle had a lower engine knock and the truck needed a new engine. After multiple phone calls and my parents going to the dealership, mg parents were finally told the oil filter was filled with metal. None of that information was given in the phone call to me. I was simply told it needed a new engine with no explanation of how we got from a truck that wouldn’t start to needing a new engine. After waiting an extended time frame for them to locate an engine, I was finally able to pickup my truck on [XXX].
