Polestar knows this is an issue and I was quoted $900 for a software fix (which could truly not lead to the fix if there actually is a hardware issue). I feel this should not be an issue I have to PAY for especially if it is simply software based. I believe a recall needs to be initiated to help myself and other drivers avoid having to pay for this issue.Read more

A 2024 Polestar 2 electric vehicle was purchased used from a dealership. At the time of purchase the eCall service light was illuminated. The dealership dismissed the warning light as nothing to be concerned about. The selling dealership had access to a vehicle history report showing a prior accident and performed a pre-delivery inspection before the sale, yet failed to identify or disclose the st
... anding water, exposed wiring, or non-functioning eCall emergency system. After purchase the vehicle was driven for approximately two weeks before being brought to an authorized Polestar service center for diagnosis. During inspection the service center discovered approximately one inch of standing water pooled under the trunk area and exposed wiring in the rear of the vehicle — conditions creating a genuine safety hazard in an electric vehicle where standing water near electrical components creates risk of electrocution or fire. The vehicle spent 118 days at the service center. The root cause was identified as two wire pins installed backwards in the Connectivity CAN network at the VGM — caused by negligent repair following a prior rear end collision. The improper repair also caused water intrusion through compromised body panel seams and wheelhouse exhaust vents. The safety hazard of standing water combined with exposed wiring in an electric vehicle was present and unknown to the owner for approximately two weeks of operation. The damage has been confirmed by the authorized Polestar service center and documented in official repair orders. The eCall emergency safety system was non functional throughout this period.Read more

Reason: Left blank Service Advisors' texts attached: 1, 2, and 3 from [XXX] of Genesis/[XXX] of HHI: The dealership’s verbal assessment was that the fuel pump area bolts sheared off due to "outside work" or "over-tightening, I asked for photos to provide visual, metallurgical proof of tool marks or cross-threading to back up that claim, and [XXX] verbally stated they had submitted those to Genesis. I never received the photos. The last attachment (Diagnostic Check). **RESPONSE to dealerships' speculation: ** Under Federal Recall 033G (NHTSA Campaign 26V229000), which directly involves the failure of fuel system retention fasteners, the Insufficient torque on the stabilizer bolts is prone to a bolt backing out even a fraction of an inch; the fuel assembly begins to vibrate violently against it. This creates immense lateral (sideways) fatigue stress on the bolt threads. Eventually, under that continuous vibration and stress, the metal fatigues and shears (snaps) completely off. My 2019 Genesis G90 (3.3L twin-turbo) previously received Recall 019G for the left turbocharger oil feed pipe at a authorized Genesis dealership. At approximately 137,508 miles, the right side turbocharger oil feed pipe failed. I experienced an engine oil leak, a strong burning oil smell, smoke from the engine compartment, engine light on, lost of power and oil leaking onto hot engine components.
... The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent repair facility, which determined that the right turbocharger oil feed pipe required replacement. I contacted Genesis Motor America requesting goodwill assistance because the right side pipe is the matching component to to the recalled left side, but my request was denied because the recall only applies to the left side. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the failure of the right side oil feed pipe is presenting the same safety risk.Read more

This complaint concerns the structural frame and chassis assembly of this fifth-wheel trailer, specifically the upper deck/front bedroom area and supporting structure. While operating the trailer within the manufacturer's published weight limits (GVWR: 20,000 lbs; Cargo Carrying Capacity: 4,258 lbs), we experienced repeated structural movement and frame flex during normal highway towing. Over tim
... e, the condition progressively worsened and resulted in movement of the upper deck structure, shifting and separation of interior walls and trim, door and frame misalignment, repeated structural popping noises while towing, visible distortion around structural components, and components shifting out of square. These symptoms were repeatable and occurred during normal use. The condition continued to worsen over the course of ownership rather than being an isolated incident. Because the structural movement involved the primary frame and load-bearing portions of the trailer, we became increasingly concerned about the structural integrity of the unit during highway travel. The repeated movement and progression of the condition caused us to lose confidence in the trailer's ability to safely withstand normal towing forces, particularly while traveling with our family. As the condition worsened, we limited towing and ultimately sought a permanent resolution from the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified and inspected the trailer on multiple occasions. Repair attempts were performed; however, the structural symptoms continued to reoccur after those repairs. Ultimately, rather than continuing additional repairs, the manufacturer elected to provide a collateral exchange into a replacement trailer. The original trailer is no longer in our possession because it was exchanged with the manufacturer. However, the VIN is known. I am submitting this complaint so there is a permanent safety record associated with this VIN and so NHTSA is aware of this structural defect of this modelRead more

I live in [XXX], where summer temperatures are extremely high. This week, afternoon temperatures have been reaching nearly 100°F (38°C). My vehicle is a mild-hybrid Volvo XC40, and there is no option to permanently disable the automatic start-stop function (or at least every time I start the car). This week, while driving home from work at around 4:00 PM, I stopped at a traffic light and the eng
... ine shut off automatically. As a result, the air conditioning immediately reduced its cooling performance, making the cabin noticeably less comfortable in the extreme heat. I instinctively pressed the accelerator to turn the engine back on and I nearly collided with the vehicle in front of me. In my opinion, this creates a genuine safety concern. Volvo should provide drivers with the ability to disable the automatic start-stop feature through a software setting. While the system is intended to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy, drivers should be able to decide when those benefits are appropriate and when safety, comfort, or local driving conditions make continuous engine operation the better choice. A permanent on/off setting would allow owners to use the feature when desired while avoiding situations where the automatic engine shutdown negatively impacts driving safety or cabin comfort. On 04/14/2026, the second day after purchase. There was extreme vibration from the back of my vehicle at 40 -to- 45MPH and highway speeds 70-to-80MPH. after several service visits the vehicle still has vibration at 70 -to- 80MPH. At highway speeds there is so much vibration that window visors and seat arm rests are shaking. The Car Dealer ( ACE FORD of Woodbury ) did verify vibration during a "ri
... de along" in person with a computer connected to the vehicle . After several attempts to balance tires. On 05/15 2026 we test drove other same "FORD Transit Vans 250" and found that all Vans were exhibiting same vibration . FORD determined that because all vehicles preform the same way that this was "deemed Characteristic"and no further action would be taken. At This point I brought the FORD TRANSIT to another Dealer ( WINNER FORD of Cherry Hill ) They preformed the same or similar diagnostics and found that ALL FOUR (4) tire rims were bent and indicated a replacement of the rims was required. I Then brought the TRANSIT back to ACE FORD where they did more testing and found that there was one (1) rim bent and replace tire and rim. After turning the vehicle back over to me I went on a test drive and found the same vibration problem at highway speeds form 72 - 80MPH . to date, I still have a VAN that I fell unsafe in at highway speeds.Read more

The dashboard on my 2012 Lexus IS 250 has developed significant cracking across the surface despite the vehicle being garage-kept, low mileage, and well-maintained throughout my ownership. The cracking is not the result of any accident, impact, or misuse — it appeared spontaneously and has progressively worsened over time. Lexus acknowledged this as a known defect by establishing Customer Suppo
... rt Program ZLZ, which provided extended coverage specifically for dashboard, instrument panel, and interior trim panel cracking on certain Lexus models. The existence of this program confirms that Lexus was aware of a systemic manufacturing or materials defect affecting these vehicles. My vehicle fell outside the ZLZ coverage window by a matter of months. Despite my appeal to Lexus National Headquarters citing my long-term ownership, the vehicle’s low mileage, and the timing of the condition’s appearance, Lexus has declined to provide any assistance and has stated this is their final position. I am filing this complaint to document this defect and contribute to the record of affected owners. Dashboard cracking of this nature is not only a cosmetic issue — a deteriorating dashboard can cause glare, distraction, and potential visibility impairment for the driver, which raises legitimate safety concerns. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Customer Support Program ZLZ adequately addressed the full scope of affected vehicles and owners, and whetRead more

Component/System: Service Brakes, Hydraulic / Brake Pedal Assembly / Steering Linkage Description of Defect: A progressive mechanical noise and physical sensation occurs during driving transitions involving the brake, accelerator, and steering column. After the brake pedal is fully released and the accelerator is pressed, or when the steering wheel is turned, a distinct loud "thunk" and a sliding
... /dragging sound emanate from the brake pedal assembly area. When the accelerator is released, a secondary "click" sound is heard and felt through the controls. This condition did not exist when the vehicle was new and has progressively worsened in frequency and volume. The symptoms suggest a binding mechanical linkage, failing master cylinder pushrod bushing, or interference with the steering column shaft, potentially compromising braking response or causing pedal entrapment. Safety Risk: The physical sliding sensation and mechanical degradation pose a severe safety risk. Mechanical binding or un-isolated movement within the pedal box can cause unexpected resistance or delay when transitioning to emergency braking, increasing stopping distances or causing total failure of the brake pedal to actuate or return properly, increasing crash risk. Dealer / Manufacturer Actions: The vehicle was presented to an authorized Audi dealership. Comprehensive video and audio evidence explicitly capturing the exact "thunk," dragging noise, and click during vehicle operation was sent directly to dealership staff. Despite having irrefutable video confirmation of the defect, the dealer has refused to properly diagnose or address the issue. The dealership is now completely ignoring all communication, failing to return calls, and disregarding this critical safety defect. Warning Symptoms: No electronic dashboard warning lights or fault messages. Symptoms are strictly mechanical and acoustic, amplifying over time.Read more

Last year (2025) we were on a trip to Minneapolis, MN when our vehicle randomly stalled out on us. It would allow us to start it up again immediately, but stalled again shortly after. Each time it stalled, the dash lights would pop up and the engine would immediately stall and die. We had the car fixed in a pinch, and the diagnosis was a crank shaft error. Fast forward to this past weekend, our
... car stalled again in traffic, with the dash lights coming on and the engine immediately dying. This time, we were unable to start the vehicle again to get it to a safe location, so ended up pushing it in neutral to the closest convenience store and have the vehicle towed to a Jeep dealer. Upon inspection of the car, the diagnosis was again a bad crank shaft sensor causing erratic readings and needing to be replaced. Having the same issue twice on the same vehicle, we looked into possible recalls that we had previously missed. We found that our VIN does not qualify for any past or present recalls. However, we did find a recall for 2016 Jeep Patriots that addressed the faulty crank shaft sensors (NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V907000). Having had this same issue twice, our vehicle is clearly being affected by root cause which the above recall was based on. Knowing that, it's hard to believe our vehicle doesn't qualify for this recall, and we would like that recall service extended to our VIN, especially since the issue has happened on multiple occasions.Read more

On November 20, 2025, my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine began experiencing intermittent engine overheating conditions. Concerned about a potential safety issue, I contacted a GMC dealership and was advised that because no diagnostic trouble codes were present, there was nothing to diagnose or repair and that I should continue driving the vehicle. Over the fol
... lowing months, the overheating condition continued intermittently. On May 24, 2026, while driving on the highway, the vehicle suddenly overheated, displayed fault code P1098, and entered reduced power ("limp mode"). The vehicle lost normal performance and acceleration while traveling in traffic. This created a significant safety hazard because the vehicle was unable to maintain normal highway speeds, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or other traffic accident. The loss of power occurred while driving and without sufficient warning, leaving the vehicle unable to safely perform as expected in highway traffic. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other GMC and Chevrolet owners describing similar overheating, coolant control valve, thermal management system, and P1098-related failures. Many owners report symptoms involving engine overheating, reduced engine power, and limp mode operation while driving. I am concerned that this may indicate a broader defect involving the vehicle's cooling system and thermal management components. The vehicle exhibited overheating symptoms for approximately six months before the final failure occurred. Additionally, I understand that certain GM vehicles have been subject to service actions involving coolant control valves and thermal management system components. Given the similarity of symptoms, I am concerned that the overheating condition reported in November 2025 may be related to the same type of failure mechanism, yet my vehicle has not been included in any recall or special coverage program.Read more

The vehicle became inoperable in traffic and required towing. This created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership multiple times for the same or related issue on the following dates: • July 8, 2025 – mileage 80,099 • July 10, 2025 – mileage 80,101 • September 20, 2025 – mileage approximately 82,000 • October 27, 2025 – mileage 84,453 • October 28, 2025 – mileage 84,473 • April 16, 2026 – mileage 93,812 Repairs have included replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump and repeated diagnostic inspections, but the issue remains unresolved. I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2018 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine-related failures despite multiple repair attempts by an authorized Honda dealership. Problems have included dashboard warning lights, engine misfires, loss of power, fuel odor, and suspected head gasket failure. Most concerning, on September 20, 20
... 25, while exiting a highway with my child in the vehicle, the car suddenly lost power and all dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. I understand many owners of Honda vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine have reported similar problems involving head gasket failure, coolant intrusion, misfires, overheating, fuel system issues, and sudden loss of power. I am concerned this defect presents a significant safety risk.Read more

While driving my 2020 Acura MDX, the vehicle developed an intermittent check engine light and a noticeable engine knocking noise coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to an Acura dealership for diagnosis. According to the certified Acura technician, no diagnostic trouble codes were found stored in the vehicle’s system. However, the technician confirmed there was an audible k
... nocking noise present from the engine during inspection. The technician stated "No engine oil leaks found at this time. Engine. I did verify the noise that you are talking about far as knocking noise goes. Right now, it sounds like it's a lower end noise, possibly crank shaft related. Engine teardown would need to be in place to verify which cylinders are bad and to confirm if the bearing is gone or not.". The vehicle has all service records, including routine oil changes at recommended intervals. The technician also confirmed that the vehicle had oil in it. The vehicle is not part of the existing recall, but the symptoms and description match the known crank shaft rod bearing issue.Read more

I was leaving the parking lot at XXX downtown [XXX] around 12:30 a.m. with my passenger when the vehicle out of nowhere started throwing multiple errors and warnings. I lost the ability to break and I lost steering. I completely lost the ability to slow down the car using the brake pedals. Luckily I was not moving fast and I was able to come to a rolling stop. Have I been in heavier traffic or ha
... ve been traveling faster this most certainly have resulted in an accident, potentially causing injury or worse for me and or my passenger. It was a very scary situation and my safety was at risk. BMW assistance was not able to provide Tow Service due to the time of the hour and availability so I called Boca Raton police department and they provided with a towing service to the dealership at BMW Coconut Creek where the car has been since. The service at the above dealership is currently inspecting the car and I'm looking to find out the result of their investigation. I am aware of the current recall of the brake booster system however I want to emphasize that "safe mode" degraded breaking was not available does not match what happened in my situation. In my case I had no breaking power whatsoever and I could not stop the car even from a very low speed. The vehicle experienced repeated electrical and no-start issues believed to be related to the RF/electrical communication system. The truck has been returned to the dealership repeatedly for this issue and recently spent approximately two months at the dealership for diagnosis and repair. After finally being returned, the vehicle was completely dead the very next morning and would not start. The
... vehicle has also experienced dangerous electrical failures while being driven. During one incident at night, the headlights and interior electrical system became extremely dim and began flickering while an employee was operating the truck. Visibility was significantly reduced to the point the driver could barely see the roadway. During the same event, the brake pedal became abnormally hard to press intermittently, creating a serious safety concern while driving. The failure also occurred on our business lot where the truck was blocking multiple trailers needed for scheduled customer deliveries, creating operational disruption and safety concerns related to moving equipment and trailers around an inoperable heavy-duty truck. The dealership reportedly replaced or repaired an RF-related component/module during the repair process. However, the problem appears unresolved because the truck failed again immediately after being returned from service. Symptoms have included: * Complete battery drain/no-start condition * Flickering and dimming headlights/electrical systems * Intermittent hard brake pedal condition * Repeated electrical-related issues * Extended dealer downtime * Ongoing unresolved repair attempts The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This truck is used daily for commercial/business operations. Reliability concerns are significant because unexpected electrical failure or no-start conditions can leave the vehicle stranded or create hazardous driving conditions. The issue has been reproduced after dealer repair attempts. Based on the symptoms andRead more

I have a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. There was a recall last year and I brought it in to the dealership. At that time, I wasn't even sure what the recall was for. This year, about a month ago, I was driving (I take XXX to work everyday) and the display had a notice that said "Stop safely, the engine will turn off". I pulled over and turned the car off and turned it back on. The check engine light came
... back on but it drove fine. The check engine light eventually went off but the same thing happened again a few days later. I brought it into my mechanic who couldn't read the diagnostics. I brought it back into the dealership and they said I just needed a software upgrade so they did that. Unfortunately, the engine died again on the road. I shut the car off and turned it back on. I brought it back to the dealership and said the issue wasn't fixed. They haven't taken the issue seriously so I started searching and found this issue. It sounds like Chrysler is aware of the issue but I'm nervous even a new transmission won't fix the issue. In the meantime, I've had to rent a car as the dealership doesn't do loaners. This is a pretty big safety issue as now my car has shut down on the middle of the highway multiple times! I am submitting a complaint regarding my Polestar 3, which is subject to two open NHTSA safety recalls: 26V-037 and 25V-555. I attempted to have these recalls addressed on March 7, 2026, at Volvo Manhattan (an authorized Polestar service provider). Upon arrival, I was informed that no qualified Polestar technicians were available to service my vehicle, and I was told I would receive a follow-up c
... all. No follow-up occurred. On April 30, 2026, I contacted the Polestar service desk at Volvo Manhattan again. I was informed that they currently have only two Polestar technicians, that they are unable to schedule a service appointment, and that no timeline can be provided for when recall service will be available. As of today, I have been unable to obtain any appointment to remedy these safety recalls, nor any estimate of when the defects will be corrected. I am concerned that Polestar is failing to meet its obligations under federal law to provide a timely remedy for safety recalls. My vehicle is approximately one year old and remains in service with unresolved safety issues. I request that NHTSA investigate whether Polestar is complying with recall remedy requirements in the United States, particularly with respect to service capacity and availability.Read more
