They say the camera is not the problem and that it is either a connection under the dash or a radio problem. The next diagnosis step will take 3 hours and $675 just to take the dash apart. I took the vehicle to Hendrick Toyota to have the pre-collision light checked January 23, 2025. I was told no codes were found and the reason my light came on it because my vehicle sensor is dirty. I told the service adviser when my light went of the vehicle was clean including all the sensor. The only reason the vehicle was dirty was because it had snowed the day before and I had to drive in the snow, slush, and salt to get to the dealership. I also informed them this not my first vehicle with forward Collison sensor. I had owned 3 Toyota Corolla with the same tocology. I was also told by another service advisor that She has seen other Rav4 with pre-collision light problems. About one week after dealership checked the pre-collision sensor it came on again and once again, I checked and made sure all sensors were clean. April 4/28/2025 I brought the vehicle to the dealership again to have the pre-collision sensor checked. This time they said they found codes from way back. I asked them how far back and were these codes back from my first service. Service adviser didn't know. But on my paper receipt it said they didn't find any codes but notice a very small rock chip in the glass and blamed it on that, which was not there when my problem had started with my issue of the pre-collision light. The fuel pump sensor electrically shorted. The assembly failed. (tube assembly, fuel suction w/ pump and gage), gasket, fuel suction tube set. It is available for inspection. The transmission, when slowing down from 3rd to 2nd gear is shifting really hard and jerking. I haven't noticed this when it upshifts, only downshifting. There are times when backing up it will also act like the brake isn't completely off. It will jerk and scoot until you put it in park and let it set for a minute and then start backing up again.

The dealership later replaced the engine under warranty. I was informed that the engine installed was the same model currently under active recall (N252494001), which affects the 6.2L V8 engine in this vehicle type due to defective crankshaft or connecting rod components. The failed engine is no longer available for inspection, but the dealership should have records of the inspection and replacement. There were no warning lamps, error codes, or drivability issues prior to the failure. The malfunction was immediate and severe.Read more

I bought my car brand new in July of 2020. In Spetember of 2023 roughly around 60,000 miles the engine started consuming large amounts of oil. The dealership put me through the so-called warranty process 3x over a years' time. They refused to file warranty paperwork within the year I was going through the process. I have documentation clearly showing the engine burning 2 qtrs. every 1000 miles.

The hood and front bumper were badly caved in at the point of impact and pieces of the undercarriage were on the ground. The air smelled like rubber and there were tire marks on the driveway here I had slammed on the brakes. The airbags did not deploy. The Automatic Braking System did not work. There were no warning messages or lamps. The only unusual symptom that I noticed was that on my way home from Kona, when I was pulling up slowly to a traffic light, the car seemed to hesitate a couple of times, which seemed odd but not severe enough for me to be concerned about a wreck. That occurred about a half hour before the incident. I was not physically injured but I have been very shook up and depressed since the incident. If this had happened on the highway, I could have been killed and the car could have killed others on the road. I reported the collision to USAA immediately and, on their advice, I had it towed to Kona Nissan, the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and where I have had it serviced. The expectation was that they would perform diagnostics on the vehicle but they won’t touch it, nor will they talk to USAA. I had taken the car in when it was recalled for the VCM issues and I don’t believe it was fixed properly. Or the repair wasn’t effective. The car is at Gerber Body Shop in Kona, Hawaii. Researching online, I have discovered other Kia Telluride owners with similar complaints about their headlights failing in this way. Furthermore, Kia Dealerships either fail to make the repair properly by not correcting the known defect(which results in failure again) or have been charging thousands of dollars for a new complete headlight assembly replacement. Normally, when a headlight fails, it is just a matter of swapping out the headlight bulb with a new one. Unfortunately, because of the defect and failure with the design, it is not that cheap/simple to fix. A class action lawsuit has begun because of Kia's inaction. I have had to have the starter replaced twice, I have had to change the spark plugs 5 times. I have to put oil in it about every 3 weeks. White smoke comes out of the muffler. The mechanic said I need to have an oil consumption test, which Hyundai will not covet.
