Warning lights displayed for ABS and ESC systems. Had Autozone pull the OBD2 codes which indicated the left rear wheel speed sensor failed resulting in failed/disabled ABS and ESC systems. I later learned that Toyota had launched a Customer Support Program related to paint issues on white vehicles, but I was completely unaware that it existed or that it had ended in 2024. Had I known, I would have brought the vehicle in sooner. My car only started showing signs of this defect in mid-2025, well after the program had expired. I’m reporting this because I believe the issue is still ongoing and more widespread than Toyota may realize. I own a 2020 Nissan Kicks and have experienced recurring and unpredictable electrical and system malfunctions while driving. These warnings appear randomly, about a few times a month, while driving under normal conditions. The issue usually resolves temporarily after restarting the vehicle, but this raises serious concerns about the reliability of key safety systems such as traction control, collision avoidance, and issues with the engine itself. On several occasions, the check engine light (CEL) accompanied these other warning lights during the "malfunction" and the CEL remained on even after a restart. A diagnostic scan revealed P0101 (Mass Air Flow Sensor Performance issue). However, when I had the vehicle inspected at a Nissan dealership, the technicians stated that the MAF sensor and related systems were operating correctly, and they could not identify a specific mechanical issue. Despite that, the CEL and other malfunctions continue to occur intermittently. They were also not able to recreate the situation I explained with the malfunction since it occurs at random times. This issue has happened multiple times and creates uncertainty about whether the vehicle is safe to operate. I have found numerous reports online from other Nissan Kicks owners experiencing the same combination of issues (P0101, engine stalling, random warning lights, and vehicle malfunctions that reset upon restart). Jan 2025 bought a 2022 Ford F150 Lariat 3.5 eco boost with 10 speed transmission with 32,000 miles on the transmission started going out around 35,000 miles as it was shaking, shuttering, and hesitating. Drove it for a week starting have issues with it shaking between gears 7-10 with the smell of burning transmission fluid in the cabin. Took it back to the dealer they had it for 3 weeks drove the truck and felt the issue I explained but told me they couldn’t fix the problem and there is nothing they can do right now. During the time of going between dealerships got in contact with Ford they made a case against the truck but have not got involved with fixing the problem. All of this does not include the 2020 F150 Lariat 3.5 eco boost I bought at the end of 23’ with 38,000 miles and at 45000 miles had Transmission issues and had to be rebuilt but never got fixed correctly so ended up having to trade it in with all of the other issues with that truck. The concern is a rear end collision. At road speeds, vehicle changed to neutral (popped out of gear). Engine continued to run. Vehicle had to cost to a safe spot. The ABS system kicks in on uneven surfaces even at the slowest speeds. It is almost impossible to stop and have almost hit people several times. This is coming to a stop even if it’s at 5 MPH and the road doesn’t even seem uneven. It is very scary and I’ve almost had an accident multiple times due to not being able to fully engage the brakes.

Driving down the road and the camera above on windshield above rearview mirror went out as well as the forward collision braking. Both went out at the same time. The problem was inspected by a certified mechanic shop. It puts people’s lives at risk once each sensors go out limiting the safety features.

The biggest issue is last year while driving on 74 in busy traffic, the car automatically went into a "low power" mode and limited the power without warning. So now in traffic driving 55 mph, the car drastically slowed to about 35 without warning. It would not go faster no matter what I did. Then the check engine light came on afterwards. Now fast forward today... my daughter drove to the store and the car cut off in the middle of the street. The way she explained it to me it was similar to what happened before. Except it cut all the way off this time. Same error on dash something like, "switched to low power." So I'm panicking. My husband and I go down and I try to start, it wouldn't start a few times. But eventually it did then cut off. Then it cut on when I kept slightly on the gas like I know to do with an older car. So... long story long... I got us home but with limited power and hazard lights. I'm glad we made it home safely and my daughter was shook up but she's safe. I'm terrified to let anyone else in the car let alone drive it. Bought this car a couple of years ago. In the past 6 months we have had to have brakes/rotors fixed ($650), spark plugs, etc ($780). It's had issues with not starting after fueling up with gas. It's been riding rough and rattling/vibrating. Took it to mechanic and he told me it was a manufacturer issue with cylinder 3. Coolant has been leaking and causing misfires. ... d. Recommended we call Ford dealership because it has had several reports filed for this reason. We immediately went to dealership and were basically told "not our problem". But we will run a diagnostic exam for $145 but unless it's under warranty it's your problem. We're like no thank you. Literally just had a $80 diagnostic exam done at the other mechanic. I've been instructed by GM to continue driving and using the vehicle until the problem happens again, knowingly putting myself and others at risk on a second failure that could happen at any time. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes this is a common problem with a recall #N242454440, NHTSA 24V-797. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Mine has been rejected by GM. Although I documented and photographed the failure codes, I cleared them from the vehicle in order to attempt to safely get to the dealer and prevent further damages. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? At the time of failure yes, check engine light and codes from an engine monitor coinciding with the known problems. Engine speed / power was reduced to allow only 5th gear.Read more
