As I were driving down the interstate at 50 mph, I'd heard a loud POP, the sunroof exploded into a million tiny pieces of glass. When we got home, I started doing some Internet searching and found that shattering sunroofs was a longstanding problem with Honda vehicles especially, basically all vehicles with sunroofs. From some posts I was reading, I saw that many dealers were refusing to accept th
... ese as a warranty claim and some insurance companies were calling these experiences an "act of God" and refusing to pay claims. I saw at least one class action lawsuit against Honda for shattering sunroofs. I went to my dealer (where I had purchased the vehicle) all prepared to have a discussion with them about liability, but I was pleasantly surprised and angry when they said the broken glass would not be replaced under warranty. This was a brand new 2025 Honda CRV purchased with 7 miles at the time of purchased. I had to go through my insurance agency for repairs because this was not covered under Honda Dealership Warranty which I'd had purchased. Total Repairs for Parts and Labor was around 611.74. This is a major safety issue for all drivers.Read more

I was driving my car from Houston to Dallas when I got the "reduced propulsion" message and a check engine light. When I first saw the reduced propulsion issue I thought it might be related to the BECM issue again since I had already experienced that problem before. In the last few minutes of my trip the AC started to get hot and when I checked the coolant temperature I noticed it was around 240 -
... 255 F. I hadn't noticed it since there was no warning light for high temperature which I am used to with other cars. I'm not sure of the full extent of the issues yet, but I know for certain that the EGR valve has failed completely at about 71,500 miles. This is with very few miles on the actual ICE. I typically only use the ICE for a few hundred miles of driving each year. Fortunately for me, even though the CEL came on for the reduced propulsion I was able to reach my destination. However, when I went to leave, the car left me stranded as the ICE would shut down after a few minutes of running. The propulsion system is reduced and the engine becomes unavailable. Only the battery power will allow the car to drive. The F3 fuse in the EGR circuit blows if the engine is activated, and has happened multiple times already confirming the EGR issue. I have additional check engine lights that are a result of the EGR failure to circulate coolant properly. Below is a list of all the CEL codes that were pulled: P06DB P0030 P0031 P0403 P0405 P0443 P0458 P0489 P0597 P0598 P06DA P0AC4 P0135 P0AC4 P16E0 Looking into this issue I found that this is an one of the most common failures in the Chevy Volts but is no longer covered under the vehicle warranty and no bulletins posted for an extended warranty other than the BECM failure. This failure is so prevalent that I am surprised it is not.Read more

V8 endurance engine has a known defect with scaring of cylinder 7 causing knocking in the engines and engines replacements. I purchased this Titan brand new in 2017. It required a brand new engine at 18,000 miles that was covered by the warranty. That engine developed another knock that required another engine replacement at 89,000 miles. Initially Nissan refused to cover as the truck was more tha

I have found that these are bad engines that dealership is continue to install in these trucks even knowing that it could develop another knock. Complaint Description: The automatic transmission in my 2022 Toyota Highlander failed completely at only 62,800 miles. Toyota Brand Engagement Center offered to cover 50% of the replacement cost, but I was informed that the transmission is on national backorder with an estimated wait time of 4–5 months. This leaves me without a safe and reliable vehicle for an extended period of time. The failu
... re is consistent with Technical Service Bulletin T-SB-0008-21 (Feb 9, 2021), which acknowledges internal component failures and abnormal noises (whine/grind) in UA80E/UA80F transmissions. A major drivetrain failure at this mileage is unacceptable and raises concerns about safety, reliability, and Toyota’s handling of known transmission defects. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this issue as it appears to be systemic and affecting many 2021–2022 Toyota Highlander owners.Read more

Several times when driving at speeds of 50-60mph with my foot steady on the accelerator, the car will suddenly start to slow down so that I am going only, say, 40 mph. Either at the same time or shortly after this occurs, multiple warning lights/messages appear on the dash: Collision Mitigation System, Brake System, ACC System all appear and messages say they are not working, which is true, altho
... ugh the brakes seemed to still work fine. When this occurred the first time, I was able to pull off the highway and stop, unsure of what to do. I continued to try and drive because I was in the middle of a long trip. The slow downs kept happening intermittently, but I discovered that if I pumped the accelerator a couple of times, the speed would be restored. However, this was still a dangerous situation because I never knew when it would occur, so I stayed in the right lane and had to avoid any situations requiring confident acceleration, such as crossing a busy street. In total, this has occurred while I’m driving approximately 10-15 times, but the warning lights may or may not go away after a while, or after stopping and re-starting the car. I took car to DAR Cars Honda Fairfax (Virginia) dealer who updated software and said it should be fixed. Next day as I was driving about 50 mph, the slowdown occurred again and the warning lights came on. I drove back to the dealer, during which time the slowdown occurred one more time with me pumping accelerator to get power back, and left it with them. They could not reproduce the symptoms. I had them keep and drive it another day to see if they could make the slowdown occur, but it did not, so I picked up the car. However, I feel that this is a dangerous situation and I can no longer drive this car confidently on long trips or in situations where I need acceleration that I can rely on.Read more

While exiting I95 in Jacksonville, FL onto I10, the vehicle stumbled and lost power. Felt like it was running out of fuel. This happened at 500PM on Thursday, 14 August 2025. We even added fuel to ensure it was not a pickup issue. My wife and I were towed home (we rode in the two truck) after a few hours on side of the road. It appears this fuel pump issue is fairly common. I am out of warranty and will pay for a repair myself. However, this could have been a very serious situation had I not been alert and had the room to maneuver across the lanes. No warning lights or any such thing is present on the dash. I had purchased a brand new 2021 Nissan Rouge SV AWD in 2021. I am now at 46,000 miles and I have had all system lights on and off since purchase. Looking at the dashboard showed forward collision light, with no cars near me. I then went 35 MPH to get off nearest exit. I made it home safely with minor issues to kids neck from the brake issue. Yesterday on August 13 2025 I went to my local supermarket to get milk, and the car wouldn't start after I went shopping and showed a different error of 'Malfunction'. On 8/12/15, I had stopped at a stoplight. When the light changed and I attempted to move forward with traffic, the Eyesight Disabled warning came on and my car completely stalled and refused to move. The car prompted me to put it into park, I attempted this and it did not resolve the issue. After this, the car prompted to press the start/stop button. This also did not work. I eventually had to com
... pletely turn off the car while in an active lane of traffic and turn it back on. This resolved the issue. In less than 24 hours, I was at the dealership. They have been unable to determine what caused the vehicle to effectively shut off while idling. They are performing a TCM update and do not appear to believe the issue is a safety issue, however again the vehicle stalled in an active lane of traffic during rush hour. It felt like when the car goes into the gas saving mode while idling but this had not happened. It just stopped. This was an extremely unsafe situation to be in a car that can not move or have to try and get it into neutral and get it out of traffic on a busy road, moments after being on the highway. The dealership checked the battery twice and confirmed that it was functioning and I have the video walk through where the confirm the car is in good condition and they could not replicate the issue.Read more

My 2015 Audi A3 1.8T is experiencing the exact same failure symptoms and operational hazards as those described in Audi’s own Warranty Extension U49, which covers certain 2017 and 2018 Audi A3 and A3 Cabriolet 2.0 TFSI models. According to Audi’s bulletin, vehicles with faulty mechatronic units are eligible for replacement under an extended warranty due to safety concerns — sudden loss of d
... rive, vehicle being stuck in neutral, and PRNDS flashing while in traffic. My vehicle is now exhibiting these identical symptoms: (1) Sudden disengagement of all gears while driving when it tries to go to fourth gear. At this point, there is a (2) flashing PRNDS indicator and “Reverse Gear Not Available” message. (3) Loss of ability to accelerate in moving traffic, requiring emergency maneuvers, and halting traffic. (4) Temporary restoration of function after shutting off and restarting the engine, only for the problem to happen again. (5) Check Engine Light. This is a serious safety hazard that puts both the driver and other road users at risk. The only reason my vehicle is excluded from the coverage appears to be its model year (2015), despite the fact that the mechatronic unit and failure mode are identical to the covered 2017–2018 vehicles. I believe Audi overlooked this issue in other year models and, as such, I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate why Audi is limiting this safety-related repair to only certain VIN ranges and model years, when vehicles just a couple of years older are exhibiting the exact same dangerous defect. A sudden loss of propulsion at highway speeds is a serious risk that warrants broader manufacturer accountability. The company should fix this issue as soon as possible.Read more

The reverse camera continues to fail regularly, especially within the first few minutes of using the vehicle. I shift to reverse, and rather than seeing the video from the reverse camera, I see the message "Camera is temporarily unavailable" or something to that effect. My car is updated to the most recent software (version 3.6.4) which I believe was intended to fix this issue as a recall, but th
