HI, I purchased a brand new 2022 Lexus RX350 from Hendrick Lexus of Charleston SC. Since day one I had dangerous issues below: 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The defects involve multiple electronic control systems, including steering, braking, and airbag modules, which continue to generate active and stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) even after the May 2, 2023 recall repair. The vehicle remains in our possession and is available for inspection upon r
... equest. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Because the vehicle fails to illuminate dashboard warnings, we were unaware of critical malfunctions occurring in real time while driving. This creates the risk of sudden failure in steering, braking, or airbag deployment, directly endangering both occupants and the public. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Independent diagnostic scans repeatedly confirmed active and stored DTCs following the recall repair. These findings show the defects are reproducible and ongoing. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by Kia’s authorized dealer, Spradley Motors in Pueblo, CO, for the recall repair. Since then, diagnostic evaluations have been performed by independent service providers. Documentation of these inspections is attached. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No dashboard warning lamps illuminated, even though faults were recorded internally by the vehicle’s control modules. The absence of warnings despite active codes is itself the central safety issue. The four 225/55 R19 tires’, purchased 05/02/25 and available for inspection upon request, asymmetrical tread design has 5 treads & 4 troughs across its width. The center tread and the adjacent one to its outside both have varied design water dispersal slots. When the tires are properly mounted with the word “outside” viewable on the outside of all 4 wheels and the vehicle is rolling forward,
... the 2 above referenced treads’ slots of the right side tires will force water away from the treads and into the adjacent troughs, but these same tread slots on the left side tires, now spun 180 degrees when mounted on the left side, will force water toward the center of the two above referenced treads, actually building up water upon the referenced treads’ surfaces, not dispersing it like on the right side tires. On wet roads, this will dangerously set up the likelihood of hydroplaning on the referenced left side treads, as well as a surface grabbing imbalance between the right and left side tires which sets things up for a spin out. When viewing the mounted tires, the above safety concerns are easy to envision. They appear to pose a risk for an accident, but Pirelli states that their tires are “engineered with advanced tread patterns that balance performance, safety, and comfort” and the tires are properly mounted as described. I have no data indicating that actual issues have been confirmed with my concerns, but I feel they are valid and that this asymmetrical tire should have also been designed and marketed as a directional tire, with left and right mirrored tread designs, which it has not been. I just noticed this tread discrepancy concern.Read more

My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has ongoing electrical problems that match the same symptoms described in existing recalls, but my VIN is not included in those campaigns. The issues began around 08/30/22. The vehicle has experienced stalling, electrical shutdown, dashboard warning lights, loss of power steering issues, failure of the start-stop system, dead batteries, loud creaking, popping, squeaking n
... oises from the front suspension, especially when turning, backing up, steering lock, or going over bumps. These events began in 2021 and continue despite numerous repairs at mechanics and dealerships. Despite repairs and inspections, the problems continue. I have reviewed NHTSA recalls and found recall numbers 18V524000, 20V334000, 19V143000 as well as battery ground recall for 2017–2019 models, and my vehicle’s problems are identical to those safety issues. The dealer confirmed that my VIN is not covered, so I have been responsible for repair costs. These defects create a serious safety hazard, especially when the vehicle stalls or loses power while driving. It places my family and other drivers at risk of a crash. We have been stranded on highways and in the center of busy intersections due to loss of power. I strongly request that NHTSA investigate whether the existing recalls should be expanded to include additional VIN ranges, since many 2018 Pacifica owners (myself included) are experiencing the same electrical failures. I have had the vehicle inspected/repaired on: 4/15/21, 9/15/22, 10/2/23, 11/22/23, 8/10/24, 7/21/25, 8/7/25, 9/23/25 for battery ground, electrical module replacement, wiring repair, and strut repairs. Eventually I was able to pull off and shut off the car. It was able to be re-started immediately with no warning indicators and EV battery power restored. This loss of power has happened 6 times before during the time I have owned the car. Last time was in March 2025. Each previous time it happened I was traveling at about 35 miles per hour and while annoying I did not fear for my life. On March 6, 2025 I had the dealer, McCarthy Hyundai, check out this problem. There were no detectable problems or problem codes. I was told that it might have been caused by the oil dip stick not being fully seated. It was obvious they had no clue what caused this but that I should come back if it happened again. I have reported this to Hyundai customer service who would not confirm that this was a problem encountered by many others. From looking at reports on the internet, my problem is not unique except for being life thretening. Customer service had me bring it back to dealer. Yesterday, September 24, I picked up the vehicle whohad it for a week to try to fix the problem. Once again there were no error codes. Only problem they found was an ignition coil which needed to be replaced. They could not give a convincing explaination of how a bad ignition coil could cause a complete failure of the gas motor and EV system or why if the coil was sole problem that it would only cause this failure every 3 to 6 months. I purchased a 2026 Genesis GV70 3.5T Sport Prestige (Certified Pre-Owned) on August 26, 2025, with ~100 miles on the odometer. At around 475 miles, the climate control screen went completely dark, rendering the HVAC and seat heating/cooling systems inaccessible via the center stack. While some touch-sensitive functions remain partially active (e.g., seat heater turned on and could not be turned o
... ff; AUTO and SYNC lights blink), no display is visible, making the system unusable. This poses a driver safety hazard—especially in foggy or cold conditions when defrost or rapid cabin adjustments are needed—and causes distraction and discomfort during operation, hot seats in the summer and cannot turn off. The vehicle was dropped off at the dealer (Genesis of Cary, NC) on September 11 and remains out of service awaiting a replacement screen (ETA September 24). I was told this was the first time the dealership had seen this issue. Though covered under warranty, the failure occurred in the first two weeks of ownership resulting in extended downtime. I’ve now driven a loaner longer than my own vehicle. Having evaluated 2023–2026 GV70 models and currently driving a 2024 GV70 loaner with 14,000+ miles, I’ve seen three different cockpit versions. From my background in human-machine interfaces (HMIs), it’s apparent Genesis is rapidly iterating critical driver-facing digital systems—climate, cluster, infotainment—without sufficient real-world stability testing. According to forums, there are systemic quality issues with this brand. This 27” display is no longer just infotainment—it governs key driving functions. Its failure affects safety. NHTSA should monitor this trend to ensure these systems are reliable, redundant, and repairable before analog backups are removed. Consumers are making substantial financial investments in vehicles where essential systems fail within days. This undermines safety, trust, and confidence in a growing number of vehicles on the road.Read more
