... onding so I was stuck straight out on the main road with traffic that was heading north coming straight toward my driver side of my truck. I almost got T-boned by multiple vehicles. Traffic slowed and had to stop to move around my truck while I was attempting to get the truck to respond. The truck responded after about 2 minutes of being stalled. We brought the truck into our local ford dealership again (had brought it in before for this same issue described below), they kept it for about a week to try to reproduce the issue again however were not successful again. The dealer said that the truck did not throw any codes when the stall happened and there were no warning lights or messages in the vehicle at the moment that it happened to me. They are now telling us that we need to pick up our truck which we truly do not feel safe in. This is a family vehicle and our daily driver that we drive around our 3 year old child in. It not only put my life in danger that day by stalling, but it put all of the others cars headed toward me - almost T-boning me - in danger. I had a previous instance of this same issue where my truck was non-responsive, but was not on a main road so it wasn't as scary. There were also multiple other times where it experienced the same issue, but did not fully lose power (just kind of lagged when the pedal was pushed). We brought my truck into a local ford dealership for these instances of the issue but they could not reproduce the issue, therefore did not fix it. There was a recall issued for this a couple months back, however currently no fix.Read more

Recently in the past few months my car has been bucking when shifting gear engages in an automatic transmission. ... 36 months. I bought an extended warranty thru Dealership which now sending someone to dealership to verify that this is infact a torque problem which were found 2017 and 2019 but not 2018 is hard to believe. They will be keeping it for 7 days and already had a recall for 2017 and 2019 so are they stating it only occurred in those years, and they fix the 2017 but then it skipped 2018 and jumped to 2019. Why have I not received any recalls since I buy most of the GMC vehicles and lived in the same home for 35 years. Its awfully strange that I never receive any recalls when I owned Silverado truck, Savana High Top Van with special needs lift, Pontiac Torrent, Chevy Traverse. The warning lane change or the blindspot warning shut off too. Was told to wash the window on the front and on the camera back and did not clear the sensors. While driving, my 2016 Chevrolet Colorado experiences sudden voltage drops and intermittent loss of power steering assist — the same symptoms described in the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado recall (NHTSA #16V054000). When the failure occurs, the steering becomes extremely heavy and unsafe, especially during low-speed turns or lane changes. In September 2024, I brought my truck to an authorized Chevrol
... et dealership for sudden loss of power steering and electrical issues. A diagnostic was performed, and a fuse was replaced — they claimed that fixed the issue. Not even a month later, in October 2024, I brought my truck back to the dealership for the exact same issues. They confirmed a voltage drop but could not identify a specific cause. They verbally advised me they “cleaned the connectors,” which temporarily fixed the problem. Approximately one year later, in October 2025, the same issue returned — identical symptoms and voltage behavior. My truck was manufactured in August 2015, which is close to the recalled 2015 production window. Based on the symptoms and timing, I believe my truck may have been built using the same steering components or wiring harnesses as the recalled vehicles. This appears to be the same safety defect that caused the 2015 recall, only affecting a slightly newer VIN range. I request that NHTSA investigate whether additional 2016 Chevrolet Colorado vehicles built in mid-to-late 2015 should be included in the recall for loss of steering assist. No service lights will be on and suddenly while driving I will get “service stabilitrak”, “no traction control”, and “service power steering”. Turning off my vehicle and restarting will temporarily fix the issue. While driving, my 2012 Ford Explorer displayed a “Service Power Steering Now” warning message, and the steering wheel completely locked, making the vehicle impossible to steer safely. This issue matches the conditions described in Ford Safety Recall 14S06 (NHTSA Campaign 14V286000) and Customer
... Satisfaction Program 15N01, both addressing Electric Power Steering (EPAS) system failures in 2011–2013 Explorers. Ford’s Defect Information Report to NHTSA (PE12-017) states that intermittent electrical connections in the steering gear’s motor position sensor can cause a total loss of power steering assist exactly what occurred in my vehicle. Despite this, Ford and the dealership (Tommie Vaughn Ford, Houston TX) have stated that my VIN is “expired” for program 15N01 and refused assistance. However, the failure mode and symptoms are identical to those covered by these safety campaigns. My Explorer was manufactured in December 2011, which falls directly in the affected build range. The Carfax report for my vehicle even lists program 15N01 EPAS Steering Efforts as an associated service campaign. This is a critical safety issue, and Ford’s refusal to assist due to expired coverage should not override the need to correct a known steering defect. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Ford’s current handling of EPAS steering failures is sufficient, and whether Customer Satisfaction Program 15N01 should be reopened or extended to cover affected vehicles like mine that are experiencing the same safety defect.Read more

The problem was confirmed by Toyota of Clermont, which inspected the truck, documented the damage, and provided a written estimate exceeding $8,000 for repairs (copy attached). The vehicle was at the dealership while the manufacturer’s Limited Service Campaign 21TD03—issued to address this same defect—was still active, but the required inspection and seal repair were not performed. The failure of Toyota of Clermont to perform the mandated remedy under Campaign 21TD03 while the vehicle was in its possession resulted in a serious safety hazard. The entire interior of the cab—including the seats, ceiling, and carpet—is covered in mold, and the vehicle is undrivable due to water intrusion and electrical damage. There were no warning lamps or error messages before the failure, only a strong musty smell inside the cab shortly before the leak became visible. Toyota Motor North America was notified but declined responsibility. This case represents a potential noncompliance with federal defect-remedy obligations under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. § 30120) and should be investigated as such.Read more

The leak also damaged electrical components, posing a risk of malfunction or short-circuit while operating the vehicle, and it is currently undrivable due to this damage.
