The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The failure persisted, and there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the vehicle hesitated while starting the vehicle and pressing the Push to Start button. T
... he vehicle was taken to a dealer, where a diagnostic test was performed, and the contact was informed that there was sludge in the engine oil. The mechanic stated that sludge was found in the oil due to a lack of regular oil changes. The contact disputed the claim and provided receipts that all oil changes were up to date. The contact had the engine taken apart by the dealer and an independent mechanic, and both discovered metal shavings inside the engine, which had resulted in the engine failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.Read more

The rear subframe got separated from chassis. I was driving to work and had to hard brake to void a collision with another vehicle all of a sudden vehicle shifted to the left and I ended up on a curb. Further inspection vehicle`s rear subframe rotted out due to rust. Also, both rear brake lines from abs module to calipers are damaged due to corrosion. I ended up replacing both brake lines and did
... not think too much of it and now I see a lot of people complaining about both brake line corrosion and subframe separation or excessive rust, casing rear subframe to fail. It is a very serios safety issue and Mercedes should hold accountable for these failures. My vehicle is 2012 Mercedes E350 and only has 118k miles on odometer. I have attached pictures for the rear subframe for your review, but I did not take any pictures of the brake lines due to limited space to get my camera between the body and the rear subframe.Read more

The airbag light started coming on somewhere (approx) around 100K miles. I noticed that MANY hondas had takata airbags and were recalled. I cannot financially replace this as the cost exceeds the value of the car,

This incident happened twice in one week first with 2023 Nissan Sentra then replaced with a 2024 Nissan Altima both rented from Enterprise. I was traveling down the street from my house, a two-lane, steep hillside road, which I’ve traveled up and down for 30 years. I stopped behind a parked car on the right side of the road to let another car come up the hill and pass by before I continued down.
... As I continued down the hill, the car just began to accelerate and I could not stop it, I tried to break, but no response and the car kept accelerating for about 50 feet before crashing into. the granite hillside, lifting the car so it landed perpendicular to the road, setting off all airbags and blocking all traffic completely. Thankfully there was no other damage to other cars, homes or people, which was a minor miracle. To reach such an impact speed in such short distance suggests some kind of mechanical failure. My insurance paid for a replacement rental, a 2024 Altima and on my first drive down the hill, in the exact same spot, the steepest of the road, the exact thing happened, rapid acceleration and no breaks.Read more

Customer filing a complaint against BMW for untimely resolution of Recall #25V644. This recall is a known Safety Risk which began in the summer of 2025. It is now December 4, 2025, and discussions today with BMW North America, they cannot provide me an ETA of when parts will be available for my vehicle. Further info from BMW North America says they will mail me a letter sometime? in 2026 to tell
... me when parts are available but if I have electrical heating/smoke issues before that to take the car to the BMW Dealer. BMW appears to be pretty nonchalant about this recall and can't provide timing to resolve the serious nature of a fire being the result of this recall's safety risk. Very disappointing.Read more

RE: Formal Demand for Vehicle Repurchase/ Buyback due to Critical Safety Defect- Vehicle Breaking on Its Own While Driving I am writing to file a formal safety complaint and to demand immediate corporate intervention regarding an extremely dangerous mechanical/ADAS defect in my vehicle that Nissan has failed to repair since I purchased it in 2021. My Nissan Altima has serious, ongoing safety issu
... es where the vehicle will unexpectedly and aggressively apply the brakes on its own while I am driving, including on highways and regular roads. This defect happens without my input, without warning, and creates a major risk of being rear-ended, losing control of the vehicle, or causing a serious accident. This issue is Not minor. It is a life-threatening malfunction that makes the vehicle unsafe to operate. I have taken the vehicle to authorized Nissan dealerships for diagnosis and repair on multiple occasions: Repair Dates 2021-2025 at Passport Nissan of Alexandria 150 S Pickett St Alexandria, VA Location Despite these visits, the problem continues. Nissan’s failure to diagnose or repair this critical break/self-braking issue over several years constitutes: •Failure to remedy a known safety defect •Breach of warranty •Violation of consumer protection laws •Negligence regarding driver and public safety A vehicle that breaks on its own, especially at highway speeds – is not safe, not reliable, and not roadworthy. Because Nissan has had more than a reasonable opportunity since 2021 to correct this defect and has failed to do so, I am demanding that Nissan: 1.Buy back the vehicle at an amount equal to the remaining loan balance. I do not want to do any upgrade trade ins. This situation has gone on for years and the vehicle is now a clear danger to me and the public and my two minor children who ride in the car with me. I am requesting immediate action and a good-faith resolution.Read more

How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? This is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless
... other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix.Recall number 95B, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. So people are suppose to drive around in a $64,100 vehicle that could go on fire and cannot park in garage or use hybrid system for its intended use. Tonight s weather is suppose to be -10 degrees F in Iowa and we keep having problems with the heater blowing cold air and have taken it to dealership for total of 10 days trying to figure this problem out with no resolve yet. When does someone finally say is enough is enough? They have had my Jeep in their dealership 34 days total not counting recalls trying to resolve why the power steering goes out and all safety devices are offline and nnobody can resolve these issues so it is a total crap shoot every time you start it up! The fire hazard thing really bothers me being a past fireman and nobody seems to care, just park your car away from flammable material and structure, are you kidding me! What happens when you have kids and grandkids in this car? Somebody ha to help us! Internet is flooded with these problems with Jeep 4XE. On Dec 3, 2025,I drove my 2025 Nissan Rogue to my workplace as usual. It is new vehicle with about 2000 miles on it. The vehicle was parked in the employee parking lot, which is an open, uncovered area but not a location where projectiles or falling objects are present. The car remained stationary in this parking area until the incident occurred. When I returned to the vehicle, I closed the front
... driver-side door normally, using the same routine pressure I use every day. Immediately upon closing the door, the rear liftgate glass suddenly shattered without warning. The entire rear windshield broke into pieces at that moment. Most of the broken glass fell outside the vehicle, and the remaining fragments were found around the liftgate area. There was no evidence of any impact, no prior cracks or chips, and no external object struck the vehicle. The shattering occurred instantaneously and solely due to the act of closing the front door, which should not cause a rear windshield to fail. This appears to be a spontaneous structural failure of the rear glass, with no external cause. It could be a hazard to the people inside the car as well as outside. I reported that to Nissan who said that they were unaware of the issue. However this is widely known on even Google that the glass of 2024 and 2025 Nissan breaks spontaneouslyRead more

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 and the newly issued Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warning
... s appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68C recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no ETA, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to recharge, and requirement to park away from cars and buildings create a daily hardship and significant safety concern for my family. This is a serious safety defect affecting the same critical system twice in less than a year, and with no available remedy the vehicle remains unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unable to function as advertised. I am requesting NHTSA review due to repeated fire-risk recalls, lack of a repair, and the substantial ongoing safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIORead more

Hi, I am writing regarding my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), which is currently under both fire-risk safety recalls. I believe this falls under a reasonable expectation for relief when a vehicle cannot be safely operated and the manufacturer cannot complete the required recall repair within a reasonable timeframe. Please open a case for review and advise on the next steps. I am happy to provide any additional documentation you may need, including the recall notice and my communications with the dealer. The rotary volume control knob on the center console of my 2024 Porsche Cayenne Coupe detached during normal, routine interior cleaning while the vehicle was stationary. The knob lifted off the control shaft with minimal contact from a standard handheld vacuum nozzle. This indicates that the retention mechanism of the control knob is insufficient and may represent a manufacturing or design defect.
... A loose or detachable interior control is a safety concern because it distracts the driver from the road when attempting to adjust audio, alerts, or climate menu functions. The control knob is part of an interface that the driver must use while driving, and if it unexpectedly detaches or becomes loose, it can impair the ability to safely manage vehicle settings. The issue was reported to the Porsche dealership and Porsche Cars North America. Both declined warranty coverage and classified the problem as “customer damage,” despite the failure occurring under normal usage conditions and without misuse. A properly secured interior control knob should not detach during light interior cleaning, and this may indicate a broader quality-control issue affecting similar vehicles. There were no warning lights prior to the failure. The problem is reproducible because the knob no longer attaches securely to the shaft. I am reporting this to NHTSA because an interior control that detaches under normal use may distract drivers, impair safe operation of infotainment and climate systems, and may indicate a defect in the design or construction of the control assembly.Read more

The vehicle was sold with oversized 35-inch tires but was never recalibrated for speedometer, odometer, or tire pressure monitoring systems. The vehicle’s speedometer reads approximately 7 mph slower than actual speed, making the odometer inaccurate as well. This affects braking, ABS, traction control, and engine timing. The door placard still lists the original 265/70R17 tires, meaning the vehi
... cle no longer meets the safety certification indicated by the label. The dealership did not disclose these modifications. I have had two tire failures due to rubbing and unsafe fitment.Read more

Incident date: 2025-11-22 Location: I-70 (while taking an exit) Dealership: Jim Coleman Cadillac (vehicle purchased and routinely serviced here) I am reporting a sudden and severe brake system failure that created an immediate risk to vehicle occupants. On 2025-11-22 my wife was driving our Escalade with our two children when, while taking an exit on I-70, she felt the brakes go completely limp
... and the vehicle would not slow down as expected. The vehicle had been driving normally beforehand; we had made a couple of stops earlier that day. She was able to reduce speed and bring the vehicle to a stop without colliding with another vehicle, but this was only because there was no traffic immediately ahead. A tow was called; the vehicle was first towed to a nearby Cadillac dealer for initial diagnostics and then to Jim Coleman Cadillac where the vehicle was purchased and where all prior services and repairs have been completed. The most recent service/inspection at Jim Coleman had been completed a few weeks prior and no brake concerns or repair recommendations were noted at that time. The last documented brake service prior to this incident was in 2022 at the same dealership. After the incident, when inspected, the dealership service manager reported his findings: "The bolt on the top left front brake caliper walked out, the caliper swung rearward pivoting on the still secured lower bolt and the top piston was expelled from the caliper resulting in rapid loss of brake fluid and a failure of the hydraulic brakes. The reason the bolt came off could have been due to improper machine of the bolt or the caliper bracket that it was screwed into." This failure occurred without warning and represents an extreme safety hazard that could have caused a serious crash. I request that NHTSA review this incident as a potential safety defect, and that it be added to any investigation regarding similar complaints for this model/year.Read more

Around 160,000 miles my CVT transmission went out. I almost got into a wreck no warning lights just stopped on me. When I took it to my local dealership in waco, Texas they told me I'll be good to wait over the weekend that they first opening wasn't until Tuesday. I came by on a Thursday. The car was making noises I was concerned and it wasn't accelerating like normal. I slowly drove it to Nissa
... n dealership in Temple tx 30 mins away. The tech there immediately drove it to see if it was apressing concern or not. He immediately stated it wasn't safe and they gave me a loaner. My vehicle was in the shop for three weeks I had to get a $14,000 loan to repair it because my extended warranty didn't cover specifically CVT transmissions because of Nissan history with the other vehicles with that transmission type. I contacted Nissan corporate they said they would give me a warranty but since the Pathfinder wasn't on their recall list they couldn't assist me in that manner. Since the CVT transmission repair I've had engine issues and now my catalytic converter isn't working properly. I've given Nissan money on repairs that normally doesn't happen until the vehicles is over 200,000 miles. I went to some Nissan Pathfinder forums and found out this is to be true that many Pathfinder owners are buying new transmissions or vehicles all together because of this defect in the Nissan CVT transmissions. I hope to get my money back since I'm a disabled Afghanistan Navy veteran on a limited income. If it's happening to me it's happening to others and should be investigated.Read more
