*High Voltage Battery defect/failure - this is what was believed to be the issue when it was towed to the dealership. ... nd planned to try again the next day, then someone walked by and saw smoke coming from the car and called 911. They called it a thermal runaway and it burned for hours before being moved to a safer, emptier lot where it was covered in thousands of pounds of sand. The night before the mileage range dropped roughly 70%, unaware of the recall in our mail that hadn't been opened we stopped to try to charge so we could get home. Thankfully none of the chargers worked since the recall was for a potential fire if plugged into a level 3 charger. We tried to drive home only to end up on the side of the road in total system failure. Police sent incident management to get us to safety. If we had made it home we are told this could have caught our home on fire and would likely have blown up our house and taken neighbors houses out as well. It could hurt more people or structures while they tried to recreate the problem. I understand the dealership had $20K in damages from the fire on top of which my car is clearly a total loss. Homes & Businesses nearby had to be evacuated. *Yes, what is left of the car has been inspected by the county fire marshall, insurance co. Police were called, but no investigation. When I called consumer affairs at Nissan, I spoke to 3 different people who said there was nothing they could do. *We had one other time 3 weeks earlier that the range dropped significant, we got home plugged it in and it seemed fine. The only warnings said we were low on miles and to stop to charge which would have made things worse, could have killed us if they had worked.Read more

The car has been suddenly lurching backward and forward in traffic/ while driving, moving forward and backwards unexpectantly and not accelerating at an expected rate, causing other vehicles almost to hit me about 4 times within 1 week starting last week around 12/8/25, because my vehicle is not moving at the expected rate during yielding, changing lanes, etc. I took it to the shop and reported t
... his issue, and they informed me that this vehicle has serious oil leaks and multiple parts that have failed involving the oil filter housing, engine valve cover, engine intake manifold gasket, etc. I have attached a list of parts that have failed in this vehicle from the repair shop for your records and can make available the parts upon request. My repair shop has told me that they have had to repair MULTIPLE other cars of this make and model for the same reason/ failed parts across multiple years up to until about 2021, but that the company repaired it on more current models, which clearly indicates that this is a KNOWN issue for prior models. This company has an obligation to protect its customers and conduct a full recall on prior models to correct this issue, in order to prevent serious injury or death of the public! I trust you will investigate this matter thoroughly.Read more

the front collision detection system frequently stops working, especially when there is wet weather. The little light on the dash comes on that shows it's not working. ALSO. My car has a serious battery issue that is not related to the fast-charging issue with the current recall. The battery frequently loses charge while driving, and I have to cut trips short and head home in "turtle mode".

First year of ownership rear engine needed to be replaced. The car literally stopped where I was on the road and had to be towed to dealer. It took a month to get the motor replaced. After that, my car stopped while I was leaving my house driving it out of my driveway. There were red warining lights and sounds and then it just suddenly died seconds later. It had to be towed to the dealer. Th
... ey said it was fixed and that the 12v battery wasnt being charged. Then I was leaving church when my car died on me again. Same issue. Now, the third time in this vehicles 2 years of life, my car died while I was on the highway driving to work in the morning in the passing lane during rush hour. The dash went red and waring lights and sounds with a message get to safety quick check electrical system and it only gave me a few seconds the car suddenly just stopped running and I was coasting on the highway to try to get to safety. I was going 70mph in the passing lane during rush hour, I could not steer to the left to coast off the road because on my left it was just a ditch no side road to stop on, I saw in the right lane a car that was a length or so behind so I cut my wheel straight across the right lane where I coasted to a complete dead stop barely making it to the side of the road. The side of this highway was barely the width of my car so traffic flying next to me was just inches away from my drivers side door.... I called roadside assistance and had it towed to the dealer. They then told me about the recall - which I had already had it into the dealer to fix the last time it was there for this same issue. The car is 2 years old and so far I have had it stop dead in its tracks on me 4 times! I have such stress and anxiety about continuing driving this vehicle as it is completely unsafe! I almost died last week when this happened. My safety and others on the highway that day were at risk. This could have been catastrophic.Read more

On June 20, 2025, my 2023 Toyota Tacoma (VIN [XXX] ed a sudden loss of effective braking during normal driving conditions (dry roadway, clear weather). The vehicle was being driven by my adult son. While slowing for a turn, the instrument cluster displayed a Pre-Collision System (PCS) malfunction warning and a Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) warning. The Driver applied the brake pedal contin
... uously, but the vehicle did no decelerate as expected. ABS did not activate, and braking effectiveness was insufficient. During braking, the driver experienced reduced steering responsiveness. In order to avoid entering a busy roadway without adequate braking capability, the driver applied maximum steering input, fully loading the left side of the steering wheel with as much force as possible in an attempt to redirect the vehicle. Any reduction in speed occurred primarily due to the change in direction and tire to road friction, not effective braking. The vehicle was towed to a Toyota dealership. Dealer intake records document a PCS warning and no brakes upon arrival. Event Data Recorder (EDR/CDR) data shows continuous brake pedal application for approximately 5 seconds prior to the event, accelerator at 0%, and brake system hydraulic pressure reaching approximately 12.14 MPa (maximum recorded). Despite this, the vehicle did not stop as expected. No frontal crash pulse recorded. Toyota Motor North America later denied responsibility, asserting incorrect vehicle speed and stating that a CARFAX report indicated prior front-end damage. The CARFAX vehicle history report, dealer purchase disclosures, and service records show no reported accidents or damage. Toyota declined to provide brake system ECU logs (ABS/VSC/brake control modules). This incident raises concerns regarding a potential safety defect involving electronically controlled braking and its interaction with PCS stability control systems. The first time the errors (front collision, traction control/slippery road) happened, I was driving my 2019 Nissan Kicks on a dry night in October (10/23). I was going down a medium sized hill with my breaks slightly engaged, about to run into my apartment complex. There was no one in front of me. Lights lit up with an error that said 'Malfunction: See Owner's Manual.' When I went to back into my
... parking place, it was like I was trying to dry with my parking break engaged--the car was fighting me for every inch. Turned the car off, left it over night; came back in the morning, no more errors. Drove normally. On 12/10, I was going down that same hill, almost same conditions--shortly after sunset, dry road, no one in front of me. Drive down the hill, breaks slightly engaged, Front Collison and Traction controls light up, malfunction. Park the car, leave it overnight, get ready to take it to work in the morning, seems okay. On 12/11, I make it about 2 miles and I'm in similar conditions--Pre-dawn darkness, dry road, no one in front of me, going down a hill with the breaks slightly engaged. They all light up again, this time with the check engine light. Take it to the dealership, they say it's a P0101 error and I need to replace the Mass Overflow Filter and the battery. If it did the parking break-like issue from the first time it happened again, I'd be afraid that I couldn't get my car parked and out of traffic if I was in a public place.Read more

I leased a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Gengras CJDR in Fairfield, CT. I received two catastrophic recall notices from Jeep on Nov. 24th, 2025 and was notified of a third catastrophic recall when speaking to Jeep Customer Care on Nov. 25th, 2025. The first recall notice, # 68C/NHTSA25V-741, pertains to the car's high voltage battery. The HV battery in my vehicle "may become damaged during
... normal vehicle operation, which could lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from charging. Out of an abundance of caution, FCA US is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained". FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. The second recall notice, #A7C/NHTSA25V-710, pertains to the vehicle's HCP randomly resetting, which causes a loss of engine power, regardless of vehicle speed. The vehicle has been updated with "Firmware Over-the-Air" software which may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), this condition may cause the HCP to perform a reset. An hcp which resets while driving may cause a loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. I was advised of the third recall notice when I spoke to Carl, of Jeep Customer Care, on November 25th, 2025. I was assigned case #XXX. I was told the third recall involves remnants of sand and finishing debris of the engine block was found to cause the engine cylinders to seize, causing a loss of drive power and possibly a crash as well. FCA US has NO REMEDY for this recall either. My car is a DEATH TRAP! How can Jeep continue to sell a car like this and not face a class action lawsuit? I refuse to drive the car. First off the truck my father and I purchased was a brand new LT 1500 model with v6 engine and 4 wheel drive from Bill Defouw Chevrolet Lafayette, IN In 2020 I contacted the sheriff's department because the vehicle we had purchased had been stolen and switched out with another truck that had a non matching stamped vin on the frame underneath and nothing else matched with photos of proof did not
... match either. I gave the photos to the authorities to observe and they handed them back to me and laughed at me. The truck that was left with me that the thieves tried to make me believe was my truck was a salvage flood vehicle with the strong smell of mold and mildew and tires that didn't match and other areas on the truck that did not match our brand new truck we purchased that had never been altered except for adding a bed liner. I have tons of photos showing the unmatched stamped vin and photos throughout the years of ownership that I've been trying to get help with before someone gets hurt. When they wouldn't help me and continuously told me it was my truck in my possession even though I showed the proof I literally was brainwashed into believing what they were saying and I traded the truck in. When I finally realized that my gut instinct and proof was enough I contacted the dealership and took photos in where we purchased the truck to show them the differences and they agreed with me and told me to contact the police again. So I did and got the same results. Therefore there are two trucks out there possibly more that have been vin swapped and vehicle swapped from victims driveways, or work, or garage etc. I can submit my photos of proof immediately. They got my other vehicles too including my motorcycle I never got to ride because I noticed it a couple days after purchase. This crime is heavy and victims don't even know it's happened due to cloning.Read more

This is a follow-up to my previous complaint. My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to show safety-related system failures that have not been addressed by the dealership or Stellantis. The main new issue is a malfunction in the regenerative charging system. I have this feature turned OFF, yet the vehicle continues to engage regenerative charging while driving. This indicates a failure in the syste
... m’s control logic. I am also experiencing intermittent AEB system warnings. The AEB warning light activates randomly during normal driving with no obstacles present, creating uncertainty about whether the system will operate properly when needed. I reported these new issues to the dealership, but they stated they cannot schedule service until after Christmas and cannot provide a loaner vehicle. Stellantis has also not offered a solution. I am forced to continue driving a vehicle with malfunctioning safety and braking-related systems. This is an unresolved and escalating safety defect that requires investigation and immediate manufacturer action.Read more

On [XXX], my 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line AWD (VIN: [XXX] ) was damaged in a deer collision, requiring replacement of the right headlight assembly (P/N 5NL941114D/E, adaptive IQ.Light matrix with turning signal). The part was ordered June 9, 2025, via New Motors VW (Erie, PA) but remains on national backorder with no ETA (dealer confirms not even "top 25" priority). The vehicle has been undr
... ivable and unreleasable from Betts Brothers Collision (Titusville, PA) for 194 days (as of Dec 13, 2025). The shop refuses to release it without the OEM headlight for safety reasons—operating with one functional headlight + inoperable turning signal violates FMVSS 108 (S9.1: paired headlamps required for visibility; turning signals per S5.1.1). This creates an unreasonable crash risk (impaired night driving, rural area with no transit). VW Care (Case #[XXX]) refuses ETA, loaner (via Customer Mobility Program), or lease/insurance relief despite $10k+ hardship (6 months payments/insurance + lost use). PA BCP mediation (forwarded Nov 3) and CFPB #[XXX] pending—no resolution. Similar backorders reported nationwide (e.g., 4-6 month waits on forums/X). VW's systemic parts shortage effectively renders the vehicle a safety defect—demanding NHTSA investigation for trends/recall/service campaign. No crashes/injuries yet, but prolonged hold endangers if forced release. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

... apparent reason. Both of us were stunned, I checked to see how close I was to the curb on the cars passenger side and I was clear. Wasn’t close to the oncoming car either. I was going a very conservative below 10 miles per hour , with being in a parking lot and all, and it was the hardest braking I’ve ever experienced while being in a car. It’s impossible not to think of the horrible consequences this “glitch” may have on my safety, others safety (who’s driving behind me), or someone’s savings of hard earned money. If they don’t trust someone to drive safely without this system, then don’t let them drive at all. The psychological effects of knowing your car is capable of glitching and potentially injuring or killing you with no ability to counter the cars action is not to be overlooked.Read more

On 3 separate occasions, while idling, the engine will sputter as if it’s about to cut off. The RPM will rise and fall and the engine will rev up and down and finally it will quiet down. Once the light is green, It is able to drive as normal. At the next light the same thing happens and the engine revs up and down sounds like it’s about to die. At a certain point the car will lose propulsion,(
... hard to notice at first when it’s stop and go traffic) even with the pedal all the way down, making it difficult to drive at a safe speed. The car will operate this way in a very limited capacity w stuttered propulsion for a minute or two then a warning symbol and alarm sounds letting me know there is a safety issue with the hybrid system and to stop safely. The car then becomes completely unresponsive and you must stop immediately and shut the car off. Once restarted the car jolts back up and operates somewhat normally.Read more

The headlights continously and irregularly flicker between high and low beam while driving at night. I have no control over it and cannot turn off the high beams when they activate. This is highly annoying to drivers ahead me, as they believe I am trying to get their attention (or be obnoxious). In these times and the legalization of open carry weapons in the state of Florida, this can be highly d
... angerous if the wrong person is aggravated by unintentional signaling. I have already had issues on the road with drivers not happy with the high beam flicking on and off at them while driving on the road. They have become very aggressive, following, slowing down, honking at me because they think I am being impatient or trying to tell them someting is wrong. I spent $2000 in January 2025 trying to get this fixed and it has started (December 2025) happening again.Read more

The vehicle is affected by manufacturer recall R25C8 (NHTSA 25V-655), which identifies a risk of battery overheating and potential fire during fast charging. The recall instructs owners not to use Level 3 (DC fast) charging because the vehicle’s battery system may enter a failsafe mode or experience thermal issues under high-load charging. This significantly restricts normal operation of the veh
... icle, especially for longer-distance travel, and raises concerns about battery safety during charging. The issue is ongoing, and no permanent remedy is currently available. The restriction on fast charging reduces the vehicle’s intended functionality and creates uncertainty about the safety of the high-voltage battery system. No collision or fire has occurred, but the condition remains unresolved. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request.Read more
