I purchased this car new in 2018 and recently replaced the front lateral suspension arm due to worn bushings. During the process, I discovered that one of the 14 mm bolt threads on the right side of the suspension arm had a helicoil inserted. While removal was straightforward, reinstalling the bolt proved difficult. I spent several hours reattaching it to the new suspension arm, but did not apply
... full torque, as I was concerned about damaging the helicoil or stripping the thread. My main concern is that the factory has stripped the original thread and used a helicoil instead of replacing the affected part. Although the repair has held so far, I am unsure if this is a safe long-term solution, as the helicoil could fail while driving. I contacted Tesla, who advised me to visit their service center. At the Centinela location in Los Angeles, the supervisor informed me that, since the warranty has expired, they can only perform a visual inspection.Read more

Vehicle: 2026 BMW X5 System involved: Parking Assistant Professional (automatic parking) Description of the incident: While using Parking Assistant Professional on my 2026 BMW X5, the vehicle performed an automated parking maneuver and reversed into a stationary wall, causing damage to the rear window, tail light, and paint. The maneuver was initiated by the automated parking system. During the
... event, there were no audible or visual warnings, no alert prompts, and no system disengagement prior to impact. The vehicle continued reversing until contact occurred. I did not manually apply throttle or steering input during the automated maneuver. The obstacle was a fixed, stationary wall in a normal parking environment. BMW North America later informed me that their investigation concluded the system operated as designed and that certain sensor limitations are described in the owner’s manual. However, from a safety perspective, an automated parking system reversing into a stationary object without warning raises concern, particularly given the absence of alerts or system intervention. I am submitting this complaint to document a potential safety issue involving automated parking behavior and lack of warnings during low-speed automated maneuvers.Read more

On multiple occasions with outside temperatures below 30-degree F the rear drivers side door would not open or unlock. The door lock knob was in the unlocked position but the door would not open using either the outside or the inside door handles. The handles moved but did not do anything. The door handle was not frozen and it only happened to that door. I believe this had something to do with

My vehicle sometimes will not start when I press the Start Button and press the brakes at the same time. When it does start, I can drive the vehicle for a moment before it does the Engine Power Reduced mode where the car feels like its pulling more. It has done this several times while
... I’m driving on the highway which often times causes me to have to pull over to the side of the road, or make my way to the slow lane so I can pull into a gas station or somewhere public at the next exit. When the dashboard lights up with “Service ESC”, ALL of the hands on my dashboard (i.e the hands for the speedometer, gas, the car temp AND the RPM) move radically back and forth while the car is driving. Sometimes the speedometer will say 0mph even tho the car is moving. Sometimes I am able to pull over and turn my car off and back on and the lights will go away, but often times this doesn’t solve the problem. In fact, it feels like it only exacerbates the problem because when I shift it into park and then attempt to turn off the vehicle, it says “Shift to Park” even though it IS parked. In fact, this morning when the vehicle wouldn’t start after I tried to start it with the button, I attempted to turn the vehicle off (because the radio would come on and I can see lights on the dashboard, but the vehicle itself won’t start) and it said “Shift to Park” even though it is parked and has been since last night. I contacted the nearest Chevy dealership and they informed me that they have dealt with plenty of these complaints lately. I have not had an inspection completed by the dealership because my extended warranty is up and I do not have the funds to pay for a diagnostic inspection.Read more

The check engine light has been coming on intermittently and the engine has felt rough operating. On December 23, 2025, despite the absence of an illuminated "Check Engine Light", I was driving the vehicle when it suddenly lost power/acceleration in the middle of a busy street, which caused me to nearly get into an accident. 2017 Ford F250 issue is with the steering damper and the reported "death wobble" caused by the faulty part. In 2019, on several occasions driving on the highway I experienced uncontrollable shaking in the front end. Each time, I had to slow my speed down to under 10 MPH for the wobble to stop. When I took the vehicle to Ford dealer, they knew what the issue was and told me to properly fix the
... issue I needed to purchase and Aftermarket part, that Ford did not have the proper part to fix this. This comment was straight from the Ford Service Tech. I paid for the fix and up to 2025 the problem was gone. Starting in November 2025 the same issue is back. Each time of the problem, either my wife or I were traveling on a highway, traveling between 65 - 75 MPH. It takes both hands firmly holding the wheel simply to hang on until the truck can be slowed to, again, under 10 MPH. This puts us in a bad situation when on the major highways around the Ft. Worth Texas area. This time the Ford dealer charged ~$600 to fix the steering and re-align the front end. And once again, the Ford Service Tech said this is only a temporary fix and we would be back!! This has been a well known and documented issue with these trucks but Ford has refused to issue a total recall. I guess in this day it takes "confirmed body counts" before recalls actually happen. Why does it take the loss of life for this to happen? Ford should be proactive and fix the issue before deaths occur...but this would be expensive and bottom line financial statements to share with Wall Street take precedence over peoples lives.Read more

My vehicle has the Ford EcoBoost 2.0 liter engine in it that has been recalled on thousands of vehicles. This is a known issue this engine of mine has been looked at by three mechanics one being a Ford dealership to confirm that this engine was in fact warped from the factory which is causing my coolant to seep into the heads or whatever and I need the long block replacement that the original recall fell under which was somewhere around the 50,000 mark of these vehicles recalled. The engine is needing to be repaired and taken care of so I'm seeking direction on how to possibly get Ford to take care of this issue that I should not be having to deal with due to a manufacturing defect since leaving off the factory floorRead more

I am submitting this complaint to report multiple unresolved safety-related issues involving my 2024 Kia Telluride that have not been properly addressed by either the authorized dealership or Kia corporate. Issue #1: Front Bumper Sensor / Mounting Bracket Failure The front bumper sensor mounting bracket failed and detached without any impact, collision, or customer-caused damage. I did not strike
... anything, and there is no evidence of accident-related damage. This appears to be a manufacturing defect. This component is part of the vehicle’s front driver-assistance and safety sensor system. Because the bracket is damaged, I am concerned the sensor may be misaligned, inoperative, or providing inaccurate data, which presents a potential safety risk while driving. Issue #2: Unrepaired Safety Recall – Door Belt Molding I brought the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealership (Fred Beans Kia of Langhorne) to have recall work completed, including a recall involving the door belt molding. After the service visit, I received conflicting information indicating that I may need to bring the vehicle back in for the same recall, and to date I have not received confirmation that this recall repair was completed. This recall involves door belt molding trim that can delaminate and detach from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash to myself and other motorists. I am concerned that I may currently be operating a vehicle with an open and unresolved safety recall. Despite multiple attempts to obtain clarification and direction from both the dealership and Kia corporate customer care, I have received no clear confirmation of recall completion, no resolution of the sensor bracket failure, and no assurance that my vehicle is safe to operate. I am submitting this letter to formally notify the NHTSA of a safety critical defect in my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox Activ starting on 12/9/25 involving the Telematics Control Module (TCM), GM part number 85669062. This defect results in intermittent or complete failure of essential OnStar safety functions, including Automatic Crash Response, emergency communication, and accurate GPS location reporti
... ng. During normal driving, the vehicle experiences the following failures: •Loss of telematics connectivity •Inability of OnStar services to initialize or maintain a connection •GPS location drift or inaccurate positioning •Failure to reliably transmit vehicle location or contact emergency services These failures occur without user action and under normal operating conditions. The defect directly impairs systems intended to provide crash detection and emergency communication. If a collision occurs, the vehicle may not contact emergency services or may transmit an incorrect location. This represents a loss of a safety system that General Motors advertises as part of the vehicle’s crash response capability. On December 9, 2025, my Chevrolet dealer confirmed that the Telematics Control Module had failed and requires replacement. General Motors has placed this part on national backorder with no estimated availability, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe condition with no available remedy. General Motors has not issued a recall, service bulletin, or customer satisfaction program addressing this defect. The absence of available replacement parts suggests a potential supplier level issue affecting multiple vehicles. Given the safety implications, part unavailability, and potential for a broader pattern of failures, I respectfully request that NHTSA: •Review this defect as a potential systemic issue •Evaluate whether similar failures are occurring in other GM vehicles •Consider opening a Preliminary Evaluation (PE) if warranted. Thank you.Read more

After a bad OTA update in October, in November before the stop charge recall was issued I noticed on Nov 21, when in "ELECTRIC" mode, after 10 or so minutes of driving the vehicle loses the ability to accelerate past half application of the accelerator. This lack of power continues until the accelerator is FULLY pushed on the floor forcing the gas engine on and causing immediate and dangerous acc

On my way home from the dealer it happened again. From here I emailed the dealer over the holiday and sent them videos of the problem. I opened a case with Jeep and brought it in. I was then told they replicated my issue but that it's normal now since all the updates. They refused to go for a quick ride along and closed my Jeep case with no resolution or help. This problem that did not exist before the OTA update. I don't know if it's related to the OTA update or related to the A7C recall, wither way I don't feel safe driving this with any amount of charge in it, even though the dealer gave an OK to charge. The dealer wants nothing to do with addressing this because I think they can't fix it since there is no CEL or codes in the computer. I don't know what to do from here. I continued on the freeway at a lower speed and after another 1000 feet or so, the car's steering wheel once again took a hard right turn, forcing the vehicle onto the shoulder, and colliding with a railing and a freeway sign. During this second instance, the lighting inside the car when off completely. During both off these episodes, I had my foot off the accelerator and the brake. Automatic Driving and Driver Assist were disabled. The safety of my self and my passenger were put at risk. The car was free of any warning lamps or inspection warnings prior to the accident. The car is currently in a repair shop.Read more
