There is a major problem with certain year Hyundai vehicles from 2016-2021 with the engine burning oil and clogging up the exhaust. The car has been at dealership for recommended oil consumption test at every 1000 miles and has not passed. Combustion cleaning done each time and sent on way. Called and made complaint with Hyundai corporate and and got no where. The tech department at Hyundai factory gave dealership recommendations to do which were completed and still having same issue. The factory was only willing to cover 70% off the cost of new catalytic convertor and my mom to be responsible for remaining balance. Hyundai claimed that the convertor was out of warranty 8 years/80,000 miles even though this has been going on for past 2 years. This is not a problem caused by consumer but an issue with factory. Hyundai not living up to there 10 year/100,000 mile warranty as they advertise. There are facebook groups with people having same problems as we are with dealership not really doing anything other than combustion cleaning as advised by factory and corporate not doing anything either. The problem has not been confirmed or reproduced by the dealer, but we did take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and they said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle that would have caused the unintended acceleration. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, the insurance company and an investigator for Hyundai. Hyundai infomed us that they are not taking any responsibility for anything that occurred and that they will not share their investigator's report with us. There were no warming lamps or messages related to the problem prior to the failure. However, there have been other occasions while driving on the open road when the engine has revved on its own and I told Hyundai about that. In doing our own research, we have found that there are other 2023 Hyundai Tucson drivers who have had this exact same problem (unintended acceleration causing a crash) while pulling into parking spaces. Additionally, the air bags did not deploy during the collision and therefore the incident was not recorded by the EDR.Read more

It, via computer interpretation, determines how the brake fluid pressure is applied/distributed to all and any of the braking systems. Some systems are automatically initiated and others are initiated by the driver. These systems include the auto-emergency braking, the application of the electric foot brakes, the parking brake among others. We had the car delivered to the local dealership with the above information. The dealer ran an OBD scan and decided that the electric servo booster. I do not challenge this decision. My concern is that this malfunction has triggered a recall in Japan and that there are worldwide reports of the malfunction. Please have someone look into this system failure with Honda.Read more

My vehicle was part of the recall N25494000 L87 Engine loss of propulsion. Vehicle went in for recall on Sep-30th 2025, PicoScope Inspection was done and vehicle passed. Oil was changed to 0W 40 with new oil filter. Dec-26/27 of 2025 vehicle started stalling, for no reason but no Engine light. The dealer said there was no problem because there was no engine light, so there was no way to find out
... what was wrong. January 11th 2026 vehicle lost propulsion 7 times on the freeway, vehicle had a hard time re-starting and started smelling oil burning smell. Car has many problems with battery. The dealership stated the wires are coated with soy, which is a food source for rodents. I've had to get the wires replaced in the car but continue to have problems with the battery. I've had multiple times when the car is dead and needs a jump. When attempting to activate the parking brake there is no response from the vehicle. No matter how many times in attempting to activate the parking brake it would not activate. The only way to successfully activate the parking brake was if "auto hold" was on and i turned off the vehicle. i have a safety concern regarding this matter as the vehicle could potentially roll away if the car is unattend

Loud clicking and thumping noises from area of wheel drive axles. This predominantly occurs when the front wheels are turned off center. Clicking in axles and loud thumping in the chassis are enhanced with acceleration.
