In May 2025 shortly after purchasing this vehicle I had complete Brake failure while driving down the road. I was driving approximately 65 mph when the forward collision warning, ABS warning, Brake Warning, Auto Emergency Brake warning lights came on and when I pushed on the brake pedal it was hard as a rock and wouldn't stop the vehicle. It was returned to the purchasing dealership, and they repl
... aced the Brake Booster. On November 27th of 2025 I was driving down the road and the exact same problem occurred with a complete loss of brake function. It went to the local Chrysler Dealership; they replaced the Master Cylinder. I picked it up 12/10 drove it 5 miles home and parked it. I got in the vehicle the next morning to go to work and on my way to work all the same dash lights came on and I had a complete loss of Brake function. It was towed back to the dealership again; this time they replaced the ABS module. I picked it up on 12/30 drove 5 miles home, parked it, tried to leave 3 hours later and couldn't push the brake pedal far enough to get the van started. When I did finally get it started all the same dash lights were on and the brakes were not functional. It was towed back to the dealership again and this time they replaced the wiring Harness. I picked it up 1/16. Drove it minimally over the weekend, on 1/19 the front-end collision warning lights came on and the check engine light came on while driving 70 mph. The brakes didn't lose function this time, however. The following day I was sitting in line at an elementary school waiting to pick up my daughter when all the same dash lights came on again and I had a complete loss of brakes, it was towed back to the dealership, where it still is. There was contact made with Chrysler engineering during the 2nd repair. The dealership has been able to recreate the problem more than once since they have had it. This put myself and my children a significant risk of injury, and other cars if there was an accident.Read more

Ongoing Software Issues From shortly after delivery through now, the vehicle experiences frequent and recurring warning messages and system failures, including but not limited to: Suspension system warnings Driver assistance and self-driving feature failures One-pedal driving malfunctions Parking camera and sensor errors Other system warnings that appear to be software-related
... While the vehicle was often still technically drivable, these issues regularly caused the car to operate at reduced functionality, with key safety and convenience features disabled. Although software updates have reduced the frequency of these issues, they still occur intermittently and often require a vehicle reset or time to resolve. Because of these persistent and unpredictable warnings, my family and I have avoided taking this vehicle on long trips out of concern that the car may become unsafe or inoperable while traveling. The vehicle was brought in for service in December 2024 in an attempt to address these software-related issues; however, the service did not resolve the problem at that time. Hardware Failure #1 – GHCA In January 2025, the vehicle experienced a failure of the GHCA component, rendering the all-electric vehicle unable to charge. This occurred shortly after purchase. Service appointment booked: January 27, 2025 Vehicle in shop: aprox 30 days The vehicle was out of service for approximately one full month. During this time, I shared my experience on Reddit due to the severity of the issue and the vehicle’s newness. That post received over 350,000 views, and numerous Volvo EX90 owners reported experiencing the same GHCA failure—many stating they had required multiple replacements of the same component. This strongly suggests a widespread defect rather than an isolated incident. Hardware Failure #2 – GHCA (Repeat Failure) On February 3, 2026, the GHCA failed again, and the vehicle was returned to the dealership for service with no ETA on a fix.Read more

We have had several problems with our 2021 Nissan Kicks, all of which are safety concerns, and all of which have have occurred at well under 100,000 miles. We purchased the vehicle from a Nissan dealer in January of 2022. 1 - Rust is bubbling up from under the paint. I am told this is perforating rust that could easily spread to or originate from the frame of the vehicle. This could cause the enti
... re structure to fail. Despite the 5 year, no mileage limitation warranty for perforating rust, Nissan has refused to comply with the warranty. At the executive complaint level, they have admitted that the warranty exists, but at the repair level, Nissan has repeatedly informed the Dealer that the vehicle is not covered by a rust warranty or that the warranty expired based on mileage. The person at the corporate complaint level refuses to speak with the dealer or affirm the coverage in writing. At the repair level, Nissan has offered a fix outside of warranty coverage (a patch) which does not provide the continuing coverage provided by a warranty repair (which requires replacement of the panel). I have spent countless hours taking the car in to have it looked at and on the phone to try to get coverage with no success. 2 - The structural metal on the inside of the drivers door is cracking. We took the car in for repair because the window was not working but when they opened it up, they found that the the structural metal of the door itself where the window mechanism is attached has cracked. We have video indicating this may be a design defect in addition to poor materials. The Nissan dealer is not helpful, saying only that they don't have a body shop. Body shops say the entire door needs to be replaced but do not want to get involved with seeking help from Nissan. 3 - The CVT transmission failed just after the manufacturers warranty expired which is way too early for this problem. By some miracle, most of the cost was covered by a third party warranty company.Read more

I bought a fairly used 2024 Mazda on December 19, 2025 from a Mazda dealership and immediately noticed that there was some resistance with turning the steering wheel. The steering will try to self correct wit
... h sudden jerks that manifest a violent pull against my efforts to keep the car on the road or the correct lane. I immediately took the car to a Mazda dealership by my house and they couldn't identify an issue with the lane changing sensor. They did however recommend I get new tires but I decided to get a second mechanical opinion by taking it to the Mazda dealership where I purchased the car. They also could not identify any issues or an ongoing steering recall, but recommended getting a new set of tires for a car that I had just purchased from them a couple of weeks earlier. Following my frustration, I decided to do some research on the Mazda CX-90 and that's when I came across the steering wheel recall 24V022. I told them about the recall and they could not find it under the VIN #. I called Mazda (The Company) and they could not also locate that recall using my VIN #. I pressed them to look closely and Mazda (The Company) finally established that my car was part of the recall under the batch number 6524A. I went back to the dealership where I had bought the car and provided them with the batch number and they were able to establish the recall for my car after haven refuted my claim. I mention this because it is VERY likely that other Mazda CX90s with similar issues may not have this recall show up under the car VIN #s, unless owners take the initiative to contact Mazda (The Company) directly. The dealership also told me that my recall was closed but they could not provide any proof of what remedial work that was done under the recall.Read more

While driving under normal conditions on a dry road (no snow or ice), the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of braking performance while in motion. The vehicle was traveling approximately 10–15 mph and approaching an intersection with a red traffic light. A warning message appeared stating: “Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer.” Immediately after this mes
... sage, braking performance was significantly reduced. Multiple attempts to slow the vehicle using the brake pedal resulted in minimal deceleration. The stopping distance was much longer than expected for the speed and conditions. The vehicle only came to a stop after the brake pedal was pressed with full force. Shortly after the initial brake warning, multiple additional safety-related systems went offline, including collision avoidance and other braking-related driver assistance systems. Approximately five to six warning messages appeared, indicating a cascading failure of safety systems while the vehicle was still in motion. The driver was able to slowly maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and park safely. No collision occurred. However, shortly before this incident, the vehicle had been driven on a highway. If the same failure had occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could have resulted in a serious crash or injury. The vehicle is relatively new (approximately two years old, low mileage) and has been routinely maintained. There were no prior warning signs before this event. The vehicle is currently available for inspection at a dealership. A preliminary dealer explanation suggested a possible low or discharged battery; however, the cause of the braking failure has not been clearly established. This incident involved loss of braking performance while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a significant safety risk.Read more

Subject: Safety Recall 25V 011 – Remedy Delay Over One Year / Request for Immediate Action I am contacting you regarding Safety Recall 25V 011 affecting my 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I received the original recall notice over a year ago, and Stellantis has still not provided the required repair parts or an approved remedy. Federal law requires manufacturers to provide a free recall remedy within a rea
... sonable time, and NHTSA generally considers 60 days to be the guideline for timely completion. A delay exceeding one year is not reasonable, especially for a defect that can cause loss of motive power, inability to shift, and potential roll away. I am requesting the following: 1.Written confirmation that the recall remedy and parts are still unavailable. 2.Escalation of my case to Stellantis for review due to the excessive delay. 3.A loaner vehicle or alternate transportation if my vehicle is considered unsafe to operate under the recall conditions. 4.Notification as soon as parts become available or if interim repairs or accommodations are authorized. Please document this request in your system and provide a written response. I am also filing a report with NHTSA regarding the extended lack of remedy. Thank you for your prompt attention. The high-voltage battery on my 2020 Nissan Leaf is subject to Recall 25V655. The recall notice states that the battery cells can develop excessive lithium deposits, which increases electrical resistance and can cause rapid battery heating during Level 3 fast charging. Nissan instructs owners not to use Level 3 charging at all until a “remedy” is available. The issue is that the remedy describ
... ed by Nissan is not an actual repair of the battery defect. Nissan states it will install software that monitors for “state-of-charge fluctuation” and, if detected, will prevent the vehicle from restarting or recharging in order to avoid a thermal incident. This means the defect inside the battery cells is still present, and the car may disable itself if the defect begins to appear. The recall materials also state there is no warning before overheating occurs. This creates multiple safety concerns: • The underlying battery defect remains uncorrected. • The vehicle can become immobilized (unable to restart or recharge) if the software detects the condition. • Loss of Level 3 charging capability affects the ability to travel safely or plan charging when needed. • A battery fire risk exists during Level 3 charging if the defect is not detected in time. Nissan’s documents state that the software is meant only to prevent the “progression” of a thermal incident, not to repair the defective battery. I am concerned that my vehicle contains a known hazardous defect that has not been physically repaired and that the software-only response is inadequate to ensure safety. I am filing this complaint so NHTSA is aware that the remedy being offered does not address the internal battery defect itself and may leave owners exposed to continued safety and reliability risks.Read more

I purchased this vehicle as a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned in July 2024 and also purchased an extended warranty. In June 2025, I received notice of the KR engine bearing recall affecting this vehicle. I brought the vehicle to Nissan dealerships three separate times regarding this recall and related concerns, but no repair was performed and I was told to wait because a remedy was not yet available.
... On January 29th, while driving, the vehicle began shaking severely and white smoke began coming from the tailpipe. There were no warning lights. The vehicle became undrivable and had to be towed to a Nissan dealership. The dealership diagnosed the failure as a failed EGR cooler that allowed coolant into the engine, which they state destroyed the engine and requires a full engine replacement. The dealership is now claiming this is not covered under warranty, recall, or extended coverage. However, the KR engine bearing recall specifically addresses internal engine defects that can lead to overheating, coolant system damage, and engine failure. The EGR cooler failure appears to be secondary damage caused by the known engine defect described in the recall. I had already presented the vehicle multiple times to Nissan for this issue after the recall was announced, and no repair was made. I am now being told I must pay for a full engine replacement on a vehicle with an active engine recall and extended engine warranty coverage, despite having sought service multiple times before the catastrophic failure occurred. I believe this is a direct result of Nissan failing to properly address a known engine defect covered by recall, and I am concerned this represents a broader safety issue for other owners whose engines may fail before Nissan implements a remedy.Read more

In June 2025, I bought a new 2025 Ford Expedition King Ranch. While washing my SUV by hand, I discovered a manufacturing defect on the roof—Ford Manufacturing had left exposed welding and rivets. The issue is quite noticeable, with depressions around the rivets and welds so deep they could hold golf balls. More than two dozen of these rivet welds are visible and exposed. I contacted my local dea
... lership in Sioux Falls, SD to file a warranty claim, but it was denied. During this process, the dealership informed me that their lot was filled with Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators showing the same problem, indicating that it's a widespread concern among all dealers. After my claim was denied, I reached out to Ford's nationwide customer support at [XXX] and was given case number CXh-XXX. After two conversations, it became clear that Ford's organization was not effectively communicating internally. My dealership thanked me for bringing the issue to Ford Corporate, as resolving it is financially important to them. Sioux Falls Ford contacted the local Ford Factory Representative, but no solution has been provided so far. The presence of these divots allows water to accumulate in the crevices, potentially leading to severe corrosion in southern regions exposed to salty ocean air. In northern areas, freezing and thawing cycles may cause further structural Integrity deterioration, both overtimes causing catastrophic failure. At no time did Ford disclose these defects to their dealership network, and had it been, proper disclaimers would have been required on vehicle window stickers. Nor was I informed about the exposed rivets, welds, or dents on the roof prior to purchase. Ford Manufacturing failed to disclose material information regarding this issue. I have had the driver’s side wiper blade stop working properly twice since purchase. The first instance involved ice within the vicinity of the wiper arm mount on the driver’s side. There was compacted snow and ice next to the arm motor mount location. When the wiper was activated, the wiper could not extend fully vertical due to the snow and ice in the corner and this caused the wiper arm to
... become loose. The driver’s wiper arm then failed to properly operate and frequently overlapped the passenger wiper arm/blade which still functioned. The arm was replaced under warranty at a dealership. The second time this happened, I was driving during a snowstorm and the wiper was turned on with minimal snow and ice accumulation from roughly one hour of driving and occasional wiper use. The snow buildup between the driver’s wiper blade and the A pillar prevented the blade from completing a full sweep of the windshield and the driver’s side wiper came loose and failed to function properly. It frequently became entangled with the passenger wiper blade, causing visibility issues while driving. I have an appointment for this. The wiper arm itself has splines that match up with the wiper motors located between the hood and windshield. If an obstruction of snow or ice either holds the wiper blade down or prevents a full range of motion, the wiper motor easily strips these splines from the wiper arm, resulting in wiper arm failure, damage/bending of the arm(s) and cosmetic damage to the plastic A pillar trim (from wiper over extending past A pillar. The design of the vehicle wiper recess location prevents lifting the wiper arms if there is any snow or ice accumulation on the vehicle and the wipers are in the normal down position. Combine this with the lack of any melting capability from the windshield defroster or a dedicated wiper defroster, there is no way to ensure the wipers will function properly when needed during a snow or rain storm and freezing conditions.Read more

The Original Equipment (OE) Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S 255/50R20 105H M+S tires on my brand new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder suffer from groove wander on roads in which grooves are cut into them to mitigate hydroplaning in rainy conditions. The geometric design, tread design incompatibility, or structural irregularities of these tires cause severe groove wander and impair safe handling. I believe th
... ere is a mismatch between the tire design and the vehicle's weight or suspension design - Nissan should not be placing this OE tire on new Pathfinders. Groove wander causes the vehicle to follow road grooves involuntarily, which is a handling defect that compromise driver control. This condition is a safety hazard, especially at highway and interstate speeds or in inclement weather. Groove wander does not allow the vehicle to operate safely, causing the driver to constantly correct the involuntary path of the vehicle on such roads. The driver's and others' safety are at risk if the driver is unable to quickly correct the path of the vehicle and keep the vehicle in the lane of traffic to avoid lane departure into another vehicle or object. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by both the Nissan dealer from I bought the vehicle and a local Bridgestone/Firestone service center because both are unwilling to do so. Both have refused to accompany me on a test drive on Interstate 90 where this occurs because this road is approximately 12 miles one way from their locations (their claim it is too far away; if it was only 5 miles, they would be willing to do this). The tires have been visually inspected by both companies, and naturally both have found nothing wrong with the tires (normal wear at this time). Visually inspecting he tires will not diagnose the issue, and a test ride needs to be completed to document this issue - again both Nissan and Bridgestone refuse to do this. Other brand tires on other vehicles I own do not suffer groove wander.Read more

On April 7, 2025, the dealership attempted to sell me a vehicle that was experiencing an engine condition running too lean. I declined that vehicle due to safety concerns. On April 8, 2025, the salesperson contacted me again and stated that a different vehicle had been located that would meet my needs. At that time, I was nine months pregnant and urgently needed a vehicle with third-row seating f
... or my children. The dealership was aware of my condition and urgency. I took delivery of the vehicle that day. Unexpectedly, I went into labor the following day and gave birth shortly after. Because of childbirth and medical recovery, I did not immediately operate the vehicle extensively or discover the safety issues. After being discharged from the hospital, around April 11, 2025, I began using the vehicle and discovered serious mechanical problems that made the vehicle unsafe to operate. The vehicle exhibited engine-related issues and a major suspension defect that affected vehicle stability and safe operation. The vehicle was returned to the dealership, where repairs were performed and parts were ordered, confirming that the defects existed prior to or at the time of delivery. Despite the vehicle being driven a significant distance immediately before sale, the dealership did not perform a basic oil change or standard post-delivery inspection. Operating a vehicle under these conditions raises concerns for engine reliability, overheating, and failure. The suspension defect created risk of loss of control, and the engine condition created risk of drivability issues. These conditions posed a safety risk to the driver and passengers, including a newborn child. The vehicle remains available for inspection if requested.Read more

My 2023 VW ID.4 AWD Pro S is subject to Recall 93EA (NHTSA 26V030) for battery fire risk. I must: park outside only (no garage), avoid all DC fast charging, and limit charge to 80%. These restrictions substantially impair use: Cannot park in my garage due to fire risk. Cannot travel beyond ~100 miles (no DC fast charging for longer trips). Reduced range from 80% charge limit. VW responded: "No fixed timeline for parts availability or repair" "No special lease-end accommodations" "Not processing buybacks at this time" I am paying $750.77/month for a vehicle I cannot fully use, with no repair timeline. My confidence in timely repair is further diminished because this vehicle also has an unfulfilled door handle recall (VW 57J9 / NHTSA 24V651, dated 9/4/24)—over 16 months without resolution. If VW cannot source door handles in 16 months, battery modules will not be available before my lease ends. Filing to document: Substantial impairment from recall restrictions. VW's inability to provide repair timeline. VW's refusal to accommodate affected customers. Pattern of unfulfilled recalls (door handle 16+ months). Request NHTSA monitor VW's recall remedy timeline and ensure affected owners receive timely repairs or appropriate alternatives.Read more

While driving I'm having difficulting staying in the center of my lane because my steering wheel is not allowing minor steering adjustments without sticking in place temporarily. I need to apply more pressure than expected to turn the wheel before it unsticks. My local Honda dealer recently replicated this behavior on a test drive and is recommending I replace my EPS gearbox, outlined in a ser

Honda has agreed to pay 50% of the repair since I am out of warranty - my mileage on my vehicle is a little over 41K. I am asking Honda to pay for the full repair given the related EPS saftey recall they have issued, but they have not agreed to do this yet. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to experiencing these steering problems.Read more
