While driving my truck roughly 60 mph, I experienced a sudden and uncommandded shift from 6th to 1st gear for roughly 3-5 seconds. When this occurred the engine RPMs jumped up to near Red Line and I experienced a rapid deceleration. I was driving on a dry road with new tires and did not experience any wheel lock up or skidding. However, this could have very easily posed an extreme safety hazard
... to both me and other drivers around me had I lost control of the vehicle which would have been highly likely in less optimal conditions. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center and the components have not been inspected. While the downshift was occurring there were some lights that flashed on the dashboard. I believe it may have been a check engine light, but my focus was on maintaining control of the vehicle so I did not have time to focus on the lights. Once the engine shifted back to normal there were no remaining lights or cautions. The symptoms of this incident very closely match those discussed in the ongoing Investigation EA26001.Read more

The contact called on behalf of the owner of a 2017 Ford F550. The contact stated that while one of the employees was driving at highway speeds, a diesel fuel-burning odor was coming from the engine and entering the cabin of the vehicle through the A/C vents. The digital instrument cluster in my 2024 Genesis GV70 has failed multiple times while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealership on December 20, 2025 for instrument cluster malfunction. This electric vehicle would not charge from a 120VAC or 240VAC source. It would charge using HVDC. It has been repaired by a KIA dealership and therefore the part is not available for inspection. I don't know that anyone's highway safety was at risk because the vehicle continued to operate normally and could be recharged, although not at home. That said, the failure presented as a dead-short to
... the EVSE, causing the circuit breaker to activate. If the home were improperly wired, I suppose an electrical fire could have occurred. The component that failed and was replaced is the "ICCU," the same component which was subject to a NHTSA recall for failing to maintain 12V power for charging the auxiliary battery and powering the 12V auxiliary equipment. The vehicle was inspected by a KIA dealer and the defective part was replaced. There was no advance warning. One day the vehicle charged normally. The next day, it did not. I am providing this information because NHTSA should have a complete a record of the KIA ICCU failure history as possible.Read more

Three issues remain unsolved as Nissan states there is no current fix. 1) Recall for battery/fast charge. Recall was supposed to be fixed by Nov 24 and has not been fixed. This is a safety hazard as temps in the upper midwest dip below zero degress. Nissan consumer a

Steering the vehicle is extremely difficult leading to major safety concerns. When making turns, right or left, where the steering wheel travels greater than 90 degrees, the steering wheel becomes hard to push past that 90 degree mark (I am 6' 200lb man). Once past 90 degrees, the wheel will stay at that turning angles without correcting to straight. A few times I have had to "muscle" the steering

At the time of sale and shortly thereafter, water was present inside the trunk area, and the vehicle continued to exhibit water intrusion. The water intrusion appears to be associated with defective weatherstripping or sealing, which allowed moisture to enter the vehicle. On March 19, 2024, the dealership returned the vehicle to me with visible mold present inside the vehicle. The mold condition was observable at the time it was returned to consumer use. The vehicle was not professionally remediated for mold contaminated before being released back to consumer possession. A professional mold inspection later identified over 100,000 mold spores and at least ten (10) different types of mold inside the vehicle. Although the source of water intrusion was reportedly repaired on October 25, 2024, the vehicle remains inoperative and unsafe due to mold contamination. The mold condition persists despite repair attempts. I remain in possession of the vehicle, which cannot be safely driven or occupied. The manufacturer was notified of the water intrusion and mold contamination; however, the safety issue remains unresolved.
