This is my 3rd Altima. The first 2 were amazing. This 1 is not. I bought it used from Shift.com with 73k miles on it. About 6-8 months later I started feeling something wrong in the steering. The shop I took it too said the lower control arms were in the rear were corroded and the bushing were going bad. Tried to get it repaired thru the extended warranty I paid extra for but that was a nightmare
... and we ended fixing it ourselves. Something was still wrong. I put new tires on it, still wrong. Changed out the struts on front and shocks on rear, new control arms,, bushings, sway bar links, and tie rods. New brake pads and rotors. Then I bought custom wheels and another set of new tires for it. Took it and had an alignment done. The shop said everything looked good. Not long after it started drifting all over the road and I started hearing a whining noise. The next shop said the electric hydraulic power steering pump was going bad. Again the warranty company only allows the shop to call in and handle any repair claims and then they make them sit on hold forever. This is my only transportation and I can't wait for it to break in order for the warranty to repair it. In the meantime trying to figure out what to do the car is getting harder to drive straight down the road. I turned left thru an intersection and ran over the center median blowing out a tire. In 2 other occasions I hit my new wheels on the curb because the steering wheel has excessive play in it. We ended up changing the power steering unit without help from the warranty. After some research I had the lower steering shaft replaced also. The entire suspension has been replaced(front struts 2x) and it only has 115k miles on it. It's had 3 alignments in 2 years and yesterday the man at Les Schwab said the rack and pinion has some play in it. As well as the upper steering shaft needing to be replaced also. Oh and the CVT transmission is now leaking.Read more

On Friday, Oct. 6, 2023 I was driving my 2017 Nissan Titan Turbo XD that I just purchased in December 2022, it just lost power and stopped on the highway in the dark. I was able to get it to the shoulder and waited 3 hours for a tow truck. This happened on a deserted road in Washington state. I was able to get a rental car for the weekend, but the only technician qualified to look at my truck c
... ouldn't do so until Wednesday the 11th. The diagnosis was metal shavings in my engine oil, meaning I needed a complete new engine. The cost is $31,400 - and the truck cost me $37,000. Upon doing some research, I have found that the diesel fuel pump, the cp4, that comes in the Cummins diesel engine that was put into the Nissan Titans from 2016-2019 was not mean to have US diesel run through it. Only European diesel, which is more lubricated than diesel in the US. This cp4 need for lubrication makes it break apart and seize your engine up when used with US diesel. This is a known issue with the Nissan titan XD Turbo, and Nissan stopped making the truck in 2019 partly because of this issue. There has been no recall on the engine or the truck, and I could have easily been killed or seriously injured when my truck just stopped in the middle of the dark with no warning. No lights came on, nothing. I take meticulous care of my vehicles and as an Army Captain stationed at Fort Lewis, am well aware that routine maintenance is imperative. There was nothing that alerted my previous service technicians nor myself as to the danger that this truck contains. It's a ticking time bomb and needs to be taken out of use by Nissan, and their consumers compensated. How long until someone is killed due to the defect?Read more

Incident date: Sep 25, 2023
The contact rented a 2021 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while driving at a slow speed in heavy traffic, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. After coming to a complete stop and shifting into park, the contact became aware that the transmission had seized, and the gear selector was unable to shift back into drive. Upon having the vehicle towed, the tow company was only able to shift
... the gear selector into reverse. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the rental company's service center for repair; as a result, the diagnosis of the failure was unknown to the contact. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.Read more

Recently purchased said vehicle. Found the back up/camera/safety component substandard, especially when compared to other makes/models including their own Sentry. The resolution is so low that images are hard to discern; are mottled gray like a 1950 black and white movie. When backing up in low light (i.e. garage, overcast, rainy), it is nearly impossible to discern objects. I actually took
... vehicle in and asked them to check the camera as I thought there was something wrong with it. On line reviews of this make/model confirm the poor camera quality. This leads to the question "Does this back up camera/images even meet required safety standards?" Since the vehicle is so new, there may not be many, if any, complaints, yet. Other Nissan models (i.e. Sentry) have the expected quality camera image (i.e. discern objects and color clarity). What went amiss here and why was this important feature quality omitted from the Altima? I rely heavily on the image, especially in parking lots and where there is heavy pedestrian traffic as many other people probably do.Read more

After I paid for the Reset and pulled out of the CS garage my vehicle started jerking and grabbing. I took the CS representative in my vehicle and Jackie felt this. The issue could not be found. I took the auto back and now I received paperwork saying that the issue could not be duplicated. I took my vehicle then in October 3rd, 2023 with an appointment at 1p. The issue could not be found. I had 2
... different times 2 techs ride in the parking lot. The car's drive shaft was taken out and another was placed in. Tech drove and the issue remained. My old drive shaft was returned to the vehicle. Next, my AWD coupler was unhooked. I didn't feel the issue. Then this was hooked back up. I was told around 4: 45p that day that the service tech was going to call me the next day, No invoice was received. Now I had a whirling/rubbing sound anytime the vehicle was moving along with the jerking. The CS rep never called me and I called a few days later. I was told the part wasn't cheap and it was the AWD coupler. The phone estimate for working on the vehicle with labor, and the part was 2500 and taxes. That was the verbal phone estimate. I took my cousin to Parkway on October 9th. We received a paper estimate. This is a similar problem to your NTB20-069. The exception is below 20 mph for the jerking, and turning the wheel for turns. Worse at very low speeds. Such as looking for a parking spot in a parking lot and right about ready to turn I get jerking and feel as if it bounces forward and backward as I was told AWD issues will feel like this. I was told the part will be ordered and I believe if it's similar to NTB20-069 there is a defect in the AWD. (the work/labor for 10/3/2023 and the replacement of the AWD coupler will be on the final bill) The other complaint form for another issue on 8/2/2023 is when it started AFTER receiving the invoice and starting to pull the vehicle out of the CS garage doors.Read more

The Air Bag Light on the instrument panel came on for no reason. I took the vehicle to the dealership. I had to pay for a reset to have been done. There were 2 or 3 codes that came up. ... now after 10 seconds, the passenger airbag light goes from yellow to off as someone is sitting in the seat. The only way that the seatbelt light clears off of my instrument panel is by buckling the passenger side seatbelt. The dealership said that the issue had to be called into a tech higher-up. I never have received an answer. I had the codes programmed in and taken out and the original issue still exists I don't know if all airbags are not working as my instrument panel airbag light is on and don't actually know if the passenger side is actually working or not.Read more

Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 SV until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my
... VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to Bill Seidle’s Nissan in Miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings. This repair will cost $1,747.57 parts and labor. The price of the seat frame ranges from $1,200.00 to $1,400.00. I do not know what the threshold for a vehicle is to be place under recall list, however I do think, an investigation should start with the 2016 Nissan Rogue. There are blogs regarding the driver’s seat of the Nissan Rogue with the same problem that I have. I did reach out to Nissan customer support however I lost my case number. My concern is what happens if I get rear ended. How much does my weight affects the frame or the railing. Is the railing weak from the manufacturer and as a consumer I have to $1,700.00. The car experienced sudden lack of power in the middle gears and was unable to accelerate. At the same time it displayed the sliding car icon indicating a brake issue. It came and went for a couple of weeks and then just would not pick up speed in the middle gears. The car is a 6 speed manual. The code thrown was for a manifold control valve failure. We could not get Nissan to schedule a repair so
... we took it to an independent who had to replace the entire manifold as no service parts were otherwise available. They could find no reason for the sliding car icon to have kept coming on. Even after the manifold replacement it continues to do so at random times. It causes concern over the brakes which is disconcerting at the least. The sudden loss of acceleration while the problem was going on also caused a few scary moments. Nissan was contacted and declined to reimburse us nor did they offer to check the car. This car has been serviced by the dealer exclusively except for the manifold replacement and the service schedule was adhered to. It is a 2017 model and now has under 45,000 miles. It had about 41,000 when the problem occurred. No reason for such an early failure. It is a relatively rare model so no information was available.Read more
