I had to fight the steering to get it out of the middle of the road. She then thought I was under the "influence". I had to have her check the steering to convince I was not. She then remarked that I should not be driving a "defective" vehicle on the road which can easily cause an accident resulting in serious injury or even death to myself and /or other motorists. Fri 11/3/23 went to Sutherlin and told them I would not be driving the said vehicle again and like to turn it in under the "Lemon Law"......they refused.....I am here wondering what should be my next course of action. I still owe the Bank and am responsible for the payments/balance.... they have possession of the vehicle.. and I am without transportation. I heard what sounded like rocks under my car so I took it into Firestone to have them look at it and they let me know they could not even align it because the tie rod had to be replaced. Apparently this part controls your steering and you can potentially lose a wheel while you are driving down the highway. This is a safety concern because if I lose steering and the wheel comes off in that distance of even one mile anyone in the area of such a situation could get hurt. I actually don't have much money, but have no choice but to pay to have it done. I have continually maintained my vehicle. I have not hit any rocks that would have caused this issue either. I asked Joe at Firestone what would have caused the problem and he told me simple wear and tear. I only have 27,360 miles on my car. As part of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V093000, Nissan provided an interim remedy by inserting a fastener into the key slot of the jackknife key on July 21, 2023. After this interim remedy, key blade could not be folded back into the key fob. In addition, the letter from Nissan states that any keys that are not repaired will be deactivated. Carrying a key with an open key blade in the pant pocket is causing skin irritation and there is a possibility of injury as well. If I decide to get the keys repaired as required by Nissan, then it I have to deal with the skin irritation and possibility of injury. If I decide to not get the keys repaired, then Nissan will deactivate my keys effectively locking me out of own car that is fully paid off.Read more

I had to use my emergency brake a could hardly turn my wheel and stop in the center divider of the road. I turned on my hazards and waited 15 minutes and was able to restart the car a drive home. While inflating the tires up to the recommended pressure, due to the low temperatures overnight, I noticed that the right front rotor had multiple cracks running on the bridges between the holes on the brake rotors. On April 1, 2023, my husband was weed-eating on our farm and a rock flew and hit the window directly behind the driver and shattered it. I immediately called the dealership the same day to get a new window ordered. They said it would be in in a couple of days. That turned into weeks. Then months. I posted in a Facebook group which has over 30K members to see if anyone else had this issue. Others
... told me they had been waiting almost a year then (now it's been 16 months for them). So my husband used cardboard at first -- then after months of cardboard got a piece of plexi glass from Lowe's cut to size and taped in with gorilla tape. (See pic) Once I heard from members in the group they had been waiting over a year -- and many many other issues with this window like spontaneously shattering Nissan has refused to address, I knew there was no way I was getting a window any time soon so started calling Nissan Corporate directly for answers. I opened multiple cases with Consumer Affairs over the past 7 months. They claim to have talked to their corporate parts department - but no one knows when this window will ever be in it's just back-ordered indefinitely. So here I am 8 months in with a plexiglass window that if we get into an accident won't shatter and therefore is very unsafe. Instead of shattering as a standard auto window is designed for safety - this one would instead break into large sharp pieces that would then be projectiles stabbing through the hearts of my 5 children seated in the back seats. And knowing that, I have to make that conscious choice as a mother every time we drive it because there is no other safe solution being offered to me. And I am afraid Nissan won't do anything about this issue UNTIL that happens to my family or another. I have 150 other comments from Nissan NV owners with similar issues with this window that have been waiting months with unsafe solutions. Backordered is one thing. The speed didn't rise above 20mph until RPM's reached 4k. We had to creep all the way home with the engine whining and juddering and couldn't go above 45mph.
