With less than 50,000 miles on the vehicle, the fuel sensor went out and the check engine light came on. I replaced the fuel sensor and the fuel pump and it still did not correct the issue. After doing some research, I found this is known and common issue that is deserving of a recall.

2012 Audi Q5 2.0 engine failure 72,000 miles The dealership performed a tear down of my engine and had an inspector from Audi care come to inspect the damaged engine. It was determined the tensioner /timing chain caused the engine failure. Prior to the inspection, I did research and informed the service manager at the dealership that there was a known issue regarding this exact problem. He said
... he would have to perform The tear down to determine the cause. He contacted me to confirm it was indeed the cause. Now after more research, I saw there was a class action lawsuit regarding this exact issue. It was settled in 20/& or 2019 , I believe I bought my car in 2020, from an Audi dealership. Who I now assume should have been aware of this known issue and class action settlement. I would like to report this past known issue to the NTSBA. I am being told I will have to pay a large amount of money after my extended warranty will only cover a portion of the repair. This was a known problem which could have put me in danger of the engine seizing will operating the vehicle.Read more

... sting this issue as well [XXX] The issue just happened one day when I tried to open the door for someone. This needs to be investigated. I have been told by a local mechanic that it would cost anywhere from $400 to $800 in repairs. The second issue is that the engine burns oil faster than normal. I have a normal commute to work and before the 3,000 mark for an oil change, my oil light comes on in my vehicle. I check the oil only to see that it's very low. My mechanic has stated that Hyundai Tuscan and the Kia Sorento have this engine issue. The burning of the oil is faster and the catalyst converter has to be changed faster due to high amounts of carbon being burned. One notable manifestation of th
... is problem is the inability to start the engine despite repeated attempts to press the start/stop button. In some cases, the button may become unresponsive altogether, leaving drivers stranded and unable to operate their vehicles. This malfunction poses not only a significant inconvenience but also a safety risk, particularly in emergency situations where the ability to start the engine promptly is crucial. The root cause of this issue is not always clear, as it may stem from various factors such as electrical failures, software glitches, or mechanical defects within the start/stop button mechanism itself. Regardless of the underlying cause, the consequence remains the same—an unpredictable and unreliable operation of a fundamental component in the vehicle's ignition system. For Honda owners experiencing this problem, it can lead to frustration and concern about the reliability of their vehicles, especially if the issue persists despite attempts to rectify it through repairs or maintenance. Additionally, there may be associated costs involved in diagnosing and fixing the malfunction, adding further inconvenience and financial strain to affected individuals.Read more

I've already addressed what happened to my vehicle and a recall has since been issued in Dec 2023. The problem I have is the recall doesn't address the vehicles that have already failed due to the defective oil pump. Mine failed and totaled my engine leaving me without a vehicle on October 17, 2023. You even state in your description of the safety risk if this were to happen by saying it could
... damage your engine and possibly seize. It needs to be more prominent and highlite the fact that if this happens, your engine is gone, no more engine and no more car. It's more geared to the cars in the recall that haven't had it fail yet! Ford hopes to fix a part in those oil pumps and make it all better. But what about me!! At least everybody else still has a car to drive. I don't. It's gone and I'm still financing it. Ford has repeatedly told me they have no program for me. Nothing they can do. I still am part of that recall and they are breaking the law by not doing something. I need them to replace my car and pay me for everything I've had to incur due to this failure. They have no sense of urgency at all. It doesn't bother them one little bit that people are devastated when something like this happens because how do we get around. How do we get to work. Why can they get away with doing nothing for me and not held responsible. Recalls need to be split when they have vehicles damaged beyond repair for the exact issue the recalls address. They are more for just stating the safety issue if any instead of addressing what happened to each person and how they need to fix it or make it right for the consumer. I'm sick of this and I need to have them make this right.Read more

The vehicle exhibits excessive oil consumption due to defective oil control rings, as highlighted by Quality Bulletin P10186. Additionally, the sunroof leaks, as noted in Technical Journal 31272 and TJ 35503.3.0, and there are further issues with the windshield wiper/turn signal system, the parking brake system, and the steering wheel module. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon reque
... st. The excessive oil consumption and related engine issues can lead to engine damage and potential failure while driving, posing a serious safety risk. The sunroof leakage could impair visibility and cause electrical failures. The persistent dashboard warning messages and system malfunctions further distract and endanger the driver and others on the road. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by various dealers and independent service centers, as indicated by numerous customer cases, court rulings, and a class-action lawsuit. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer and documented in various technical journals and bulletins. There is no specific mention of inspection by police or insurance representatives. Yes, there were several warning lamps and messages, including the low oil light, Check Engine light, and messages related to the parking brake and windshield wiper/turn signal system. Symptoms such as slow acceleration, loss of power, higher tailpipe emissions, and a foul odor from the exhaust were also observed. These issues appeared shortly after acquiring the vehicle and persisted despite multiple repair attempts. The incident is primarily caused by engineering flaws and faulty materials, particularly the defective oil control rings leading to excessive oil consumption. Despite engine replacements, the problem persisted, indicating a fundamental design flaw. The sunroof leakage and other system malfunctions further suggest widespread safety and durability issues in the vehicle, rendering it unsafe to operate.Read more

The alternator wiring harness per recall bulletin NTB19-053 has has failed multiple times impacting starting and leaving driver stranded, shuttering while being driven, locking mechanism and other electrical components working intermittingly. Vehicle was purchased used from a dealership with 17,000 miles and shortly afterwards 1st episode of not starting occurred but then worked for about 8 month
... s, assumed it was bad gas. In 2019 Nissan advised they inspected the harness but never informed about inspection nor recall. Over the past few years the problem one come and go and once twice I replaced the battery. Took the vehicle in to Nissan May of 2024 and they advised an alternator was needed but they did not have the part and could not get the part in a reasonable time frame. I offered to accept and aftermarket part and they did not agree to do so. A local repair center provided aftermarket part with 2 year warrant and also discovered the harness recall and advised this appeared to be the problem and would cost an addition $700 to replace. I returned to Nissan regarding this findings and was told all they had to was inspect it and they did so. Nissan Compliance was contacted and after their review they refused to pay for harness removal, even after getting photos showing issues with the alternator harness. Once, the new alternator was installed the same problems returned as originally diagnosed by Nissan i.e. a failing alternator (less that 12 volts). I am seeking to have the original campaign to replace the harness, as a visual inspection of wiring may not lead to observation and what they assume was safe may not in fact been safe at all. In addition the harness replacement, I am requesting a refund as related to the alternator as the one removed was fine and its the wiring harness failing that is creating the problem, based on the symptoms described in the bulletin and those documented by both repair shops. Lastly, it appears vehicle was a buy back Nissan.Read more

Turn signal malfunction fixed by software update. Third issue- abs control unit software recall. Fixed under KTM warranty. No warning light displayed. Ktm did not notify me of the recall. I was not aware of the abs issue. Fourth issue- valve cover gasket leak and premature camshaft failure. Based on photos from the dealership when inspecting the valve cover gasket the camshaft lobes were prematurely worn at 8k miles, valves were also out of spec. Ktm refused to replace the camshaft and instead is polishing it and putting back in. Now I owe money on the repair because they are blaming the valve adjustment on “light” dust ingestion into the motor despite air filter cleanings being done well before the manufacturer recommendation and KTM factory accessories for additional air filtrations. No warning lights on dash. The premature camshaft failure could eventually cause engine lockup if not addressed until the recommended 18k mile valve inspection. Engine lockup could cause the rear wheel to lockup causing a loss of control and risk of accident. I am now selling the bike at a large loss due to fear for my safety when riding the bike. Based on expert guidance the camshafts should have been replaced and the cleaning procedure done under KTM warranty will result in accelerated wear. Ktm customer service refused to acknowledge widespread camshaft failure, as reported by thousands of owners.Read more
