I was driving on a busy two lane road. The vehicle instantly decelerated and made a large thump while driving at 55mph. ... e a total loss to the car as an accident and Injury to myself and my wife. The vehicle then after waiting several hours was towed to a certified BMW shop to be looked at. The shop noted that it sounded like it was a high pressure fuel pump failure that caused the car to abruptly decelerate. The shop confirmed that the high pressure fuel pump did fail and with high probability took out all components associated with the fuel system. The recall/ safety issue only covered the high pressure fuel Pump to 10 years or 120k miles. I have a 141k on the vehicle the issue is the safety aspect of the vehicle suddenly decelerating when at a safe driving speed with no way of knowing the issue with a the pump. These pumps and all components should be covered not only because of cost but because of the general issue of instant deceleration and the safety of not only the driver in the car but those that could be effected driving on the road with the car. This issue should not minimized by the manufacturer based on mileage or years of operation. Component or System Failed or Malfunctioned: The ABS harness connecting to the ABS module is the primary culprit. ... safety risk. When the ABS system fails, it affects braking performance, stability control, and traction control. This jeopardizes the safety of both the driver and other road users. Confirmation by Service Centers: While the issue was previously identified by the Hyundai Dealer it was attributed to a short in the Tow Hitch Wire. Unfortunately, the problem was not adequately resolved at that time. The recent appearance of the ESC Light, ABS Light, and Traction Control Light confirms that the issue persists. Inspections: The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives specifically for this issue. However, the symptoms (warning lights) have been observed consistently during driving. Warning Lamps and Symptoms: ESC Light: Periodic flashing and occasional getting stuck. ABS Light and Traction Control Light: Illuminating after driving, especially during turns or rapid acceleration. These symptoms have been present for an extended period. Cause Assessment: The top part of the ABS harnesses not being properly sealed has allowed water ingress, leading to wire shorting.Read more

My car had been sitting across the street from my house for about 3 weeks after i had gotten it back from the body shop. But then the fire trucks showed up after someone called them when they heard the ban
... g. according to the firemen, it was probably caused by an electrical fire even though there were no visible flames. but the inside was filled with thick gray smoke which also came out of the trunk when they opened it. , the air bag was activated on the driver's side - the windshield was broken and the interior was a melted mess. The dashboard was melted on the driver’s side and the window was blackened. .the drivers side was where the damage had been from the accident. I do not think it coincidence. It seems i am not the only person whose bmw has spontaneously caught on fire. I did get bmw involved as far as sending documentation and talking to a rep. They of course were blameless. They did say they believe it was caused by an error made during a repair that allowed the rain water to get into the wiring. It had been raining hard for a couple days. But they could not say based on what i sent them if it was the body shop that did the most recent repair that made the error or it was done prior to that by another shop. But that they would not be investigating further. My much loved bmw been totaled and i will never what caused it.Read more

I have joined the millions of disappointed Hyundai customers who have faulty engines in their cars. Hyundai is refusing to replace my engine or provide any assistance because there is no formal recall for my vehicle. In May of 2023, my engine failed after starting to have oil consumption issues and Hyundai diagnosed it as failure due to maintenance neglect. When I opened a case with Hyundai, I g
... ave all maintenance records, including a January full-point inspection done by Hyundai, showing no engine issues or anything engine-related to be addressed. In follow up after providing the records, Hyundai determined it was actually not due to neglect of maintenance, but a dirty valve train, and therefore there was nothing they could do since I was out of my warranty period. However, when I asked how I was to know my valve train was dirty if all my inspections came back with no issues, I was told that it just happens and there is no way to prevent. I asked them to re-open my case and they again asked for maintenance records, the ones I already provided, to try and say again that it was maintenance related. I kept getting different stories from the case manager, the service manager at Cool Springs Hyundai, and the GM at Cool Springs Hyundai. I have since joined a group on Facebook with thousands of others encountering this same issue - random engine failure and case managers requesting maintenance records in the hopes Hyundai can find a way to blame it on the consumer. It’s no secret that Hyundai makes vehicles with faulty engines as seen by the multiple recalls over the past few years, including the recent one regarding engine fires affecting 3+ million customers. Hyundai needs to be held accountable. In research of my engine, the 1.6L GDI, I see that this engine is under recall for the Hyundai Veloster for the same exact issue that I have had, but for some reason that same engine in my vehicle has yet to be recalled. I plead for your assistance and resolving.Read more

I was driving today 3/2/24 and speed was about 40-50 and suddenly/randomly the vehicle would do a jerk once it got to about 50 and the rpm’s would jump up between 2-3 and quickly drop back down to normal. I was not pressing the gas hard or a lot just lightly and also the jerking would happen if I was going down in speed from like 60-50 it would randomly jerk again and rpm’s would increase and
... go back down. Would do this off and on. No check engine lights or any lights what so ever we’re out up on the dash either which made it odd that my car was acting up. My vehicle only has 59,300 miles and has been serviced strictly at dealer for oil and transmission and I have been told that Nissan and their CVT transmissions are no good and transmissions can suddenly “die” on you for no apparent reasoning. Online searches let me to forums that discuss this being a common issue although Nissan has never done any form of recalls. This poses a safety concern in that the car is jerking and rpm’s go crazy for a moment. My vehicle also after being stopped at a traffic light today did not want to accelerate and “go” when I pressed the gas. I creeped up to 20 mph while rpm’s increased and then all of a sudden the car jerked and I was back in motion. I have owned my car since brand new and never have I had any issues.Read more

I am writing to bring a critical safety concern to your attention regarding my 2017 Kia Optima LX. The steering wheel of my vehicle frequently loses power, necessitating a restart of the engine for it to function properly again. This issue occurs randomly, but consistently takes place during steering wheel turns. On one alarming occasion while navigating a winding canyon road, the steering lost p
... ower, compelling me to slam on the brakes to prevent the car from falling off the cliff. Another incident occurred while making a right turn, resulting in me slamming on the brakes to avoid colliding with oncoming cars, narrowly escaping a potential rear-end accident. When the steering loses power, it remains functional but demands significant physical effort. Unfortunately, in attempting to steer during one episode, I strained a muscle, leading to a week of suffering. Despite the severity of this safety concern, Kia refuses to address the issue unless they can replicate it during a service visit. The problem occurs randomly, ranging from three times a day to once a month, with no warning signs prior to power loss. Kia has acknowledged this issue, evident in the warranty extension they provided up to 150k miles (attached). Regrettably, when I take the car to the dealership, they decline to address the problem due to an inability to replicate it. I believe this recurring steering malfunction poses a serious risk to my safety and the safety of others on the road. Your intervention in investigating this matter would be greatly appreciated to ensure the well-being of Kia Optima LX drivers. Attached, please find the mentioned warranty extension letter from Kia and an image displaying the MDPS warning light illuminated during instances when the steering lost power. Thank you for your prompt attention to this urgent matter. The contact stated Kia inspected the vehicle but was unable to replicate the issue during their inspection. I urge the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration to investigate this matter promptly and take appropriate action against Goodyear for their negligence and failure to uphold their warranty obligations. Plus to have the tires taken off the market as they put myself and my families lives at risk. Consumers deserve better than to be burdened with faulty products and dismissive customer service.Read more

My car started with the Ck engine light coming on, then white smoke from the exhaust randomly, then my temperature gauge randomly going up then back down, my car then losing coolant but not leaking any coolant under my car when parked. Then it started acting like it was gonna stall while at a stop or in park. I thought at first I got bad gas somewhere. These are all things I’ve never experienced
... since purchasing my car new in 2018. I took my car this week to the Ford dealership to get a diagnosis. They told me my car had some coolant intrusion that was a defect with my engine. They told me that Ford was replacing the engines but that my car didn’t qualify because it was over the 84,000 miles. I couldn’t believe it. So a vehicle I bought brand new( my first ever brand new vehicle) and I just paid off early in January of 2024 now needs a new engine. To say I was mad and disappointed would be an understatement. I only have my income as my husband passed away 9 years ago. I’m not old enough to collect his pension as I was only [XXX] when he passed. I also took in my 2 nieces 6 years ago when my sister passed away. I can’t believe Ford does not have to repair these vehicles. Why should mileage matter if it’s a defect on their part. On going issue since August 2023. Same issues that a class action suit was filed but did not incude the 2020 model. This has happened in Aug 2023, Oct 2023 and now Feb 2024. Low oil pressure Engine power is reduced I have been towed 3 times I have dealt with Castriota Chevrolet, Hudson FL where I purchased the car who would not speak with me I have dealt with Chevrolet of Milford who claims I only
... needed an oil change but since August this is the 3rd time this is happening and Jonathan does not return my call I have sent all my Invoices and expenses this has cost since it happened to Chevrolet Corp and filed a complaint but they said there was nothing they could do, this is the case number and contact person Selinda Chevrolet Customer Assistance Service Request Number:[XXX] Phone Number: 1-866-790-5600, Extension: 5912260 I contacted the States Attorney office and they advised I contact you, so here I am. I have photos, invoices and receipts to back up everything and the things there is not enough room to fit in this space. This car is a hazard to me, the drivers on the road, my family and grandchildren I pick up daily. It does not belong on the road or traded in to have someone else have these issues. You do not get any warning, it just happens. The class action suit was for this problem up to 2017 models. This is what is in the suit: The lawsuit stresses that operating a car without sufficient engine oil is dangerous and can lead to an engine fire or an increased risk of accidents. Per the suit, GM itself warns drivers in its owners’ manuals to stop driving if their car’s oil pressure is low, stating that the engine “can become so hot that it catches fire.” The lawsuit goes on to stress that if an affected vehicle’s engine is damaged enough, it could fail to accelerate properly or shut down unexpectedly while the car is being driven. This could lead to an accident or leave drivers and their passengers stranded in an unsafe location, the suit says. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIONRead more

My 2018 Kia Sportage was burning oil - had to add oil every week. On [XXX] I was driving on the [XXX] and my check engine light came on and the car slowed down. I got to the shoulder this was early in the morning I searched for a dealership and there was one 1 mile away It was 6 am when I arrived to the dealership and had to wait until they opened. And went to DCH Kia and eventually told me it w
... as a cylinder that was blown. Why? Honestly I feel like this may have been a “false” diagnosis since the oil was burning up. I had extended coverage but they said it didn’t qualify for any engine recall. I had to get my entire engine replaced and was out of my car for over a month. Which I’m assuming the cylinder blew because of the oils burning. This should never have happened. And is truly frustrating. Especially when I am a loyal Kia owner and have never had any problems like this before. I was completely overwhelmed with the amount I was charged and that I even had to replace my entire engine and having to get a rental car the entire time as well. I’m noticing from the other comments a lot of oil burning and engine trouble in my make and model. Fortunately I did not get hit on the freeway when my car decided to stop.
