Unfortunately I bought a Hyundai Elantra sport brand new in 2018 i’ve kept the maintenance even to this day the car currently at 147,300miles. So now that I have 147,300 miles the same misfires are now catastrophic failures on the same cylinders, to add insult to injury I took it to a different dealer located in Sanford Fl so they can try to get willful engine replacement, and my claim was denied because I was out of warranty and over the mileage, the dealership new that I was both over mileage and out of warranty the second I brought the car in somehow I still get charged $213. It seems like no one can do anything about it cause Hyundai America made there decision to deny my claim. These cars are straight up trash my buddies Kia similar situation has made it to 150,000 before he had total engine failure engine seized up on him. To make things worse I’m making payments on a car that’s needs an engine replaced. I’m never buying a car from Hyundai ever again they’re straight garbage and now I have to purchase another vehicle. Thanks Hyundai America for making unreliable vehicles and then taking my $213 to just deny my claim despite having a perfect maintenance record. I hope people read this and realize what crooks you guys are. Side note Hyundai America refused to help, however when I threatened to contact the BBB to complaint about there product the customer service agent Ciani mentioned they will open up case as to why I’m putting a complaint to the BBB, I don’t know what the outcome of this will be but it’s irrelevant I wouldn’t take a free Hyundai even if it was given to me! The transmission is skipping or jerking randomly. It has happened several times while driving on the expressway and when driving on the regular roads. It is concerning that this is happening more often which puts my and my family's lives at risk when we are driving at high speed on expressway and vehicle will jerk and gears get stuck which can cause me to get hit by another vehicle or semi truck
... . There is no warning that this is going to happen. I bought the truck in Sept 2021. It happened to me in May of 2022 and has been happening more often now. I took truck to dealership on 3/13/24 and service adviser just told me that they know this is common in the expeditions but that the transmission module needed to be reset. I asked if this covered under warranty since it is known issue and should not be happening to brand new vehicles. I also spoke to a friend who has a similar expedition and this has happened to them where their vehicle has left them stranded for transmission jerking all of a sudden. Ford needs to fix this issue. I should not have to pay for Ford to recaliberate the module to get the transmission to work properly. I also had them check my radio screen because it keeps going to a black screen and/or gets stuck on the rear camera not having access to anything on the screen. I was also told by advisor that they had to put a new module in it because again this is a known issue on the computer screen as well.Read more

There has been many reports of electronic steering issue where it would just swerve you off the road and loose full control while driving for years 2013-2015 cars but 2016 years are also being effected. A dealership confirmed it was an electronic steering rack causing the issue. No warning lamps had went off either

The cvt transmission is going out. The dealer has conformed this. This vehicle only has 120000 miles on it and has had every transmission service that was recommended. When this goes completely it could cause an accident at freeway speeds. I believe this model year needs to be added to the cvt recall list and should be covered by honda to 150000 since they clearly know they have an issue here.

Dealership foreman and corporate field tech looked at vehicle and denied any problem, stating this was “normal for this new vehicle” and refused to investigate or try any diagnostics. The cabin boom sound is recorded on video, and is such a low frequency you must use noise canceling headphones to hear it on video (confirmed by professional audio engineer). This sound/pressure can be heard and felt by other people in the car, unless they already have low frequency hearing loss. This problem creates physical illness and is a huge safety concern for this brand new model Grand Highlander. After a recurring dashboard alert to tell me that front sensors and rear braking were offline, I took the vehicle for warranty repair. The Ford dealer indicated that the repair would cost $519, because it was a wiring failure and not a failure in a part. According to the service advisor, the failure is a common failure that occurs at a tee where the wiring branches to a sensor just behind the rear

He said that it is not covered by Ford's "bumper to bumper" warranty because it's a wiring failure and not a part failure (although the subject wiring harness does carry a Ford part number). Since my 2022 truck had only about 14,000 miles and had been lightly used (no off-road use), I balked at the notion that it should not be Ford's responsibility to replace the wiring harness. I paid only the diagnosis fee ($155) and took the truck home. On investigation, I found the harness and sensor wire he described to be easily accessible and easily damaged by any sort of road debris. I also found the wiring from the harness to the sensor to be unsupported, leading me to conclude that resonance due to normal road vibrations could have led to metal fatigue in the wire. It's my view that Ford's conclusion that this is normal wear and tear on a truck is ludicrous. I expressed this view in a letter to Ford's Consumer Relationship Center, but the response was simply to back the dealer's determination. They did provide the option to seek a second dealer opinion, but my concern is more about the long-term vulnerability as I am capable of repairing or replacing the harness myself. It's my conclusion that the joint should be shielded from road hazards and the wires to the sensors should be separately supported to reduce stress on the joint in the harness. My belief that this is a matter for NHTSB is based on the fact that the harness failure compromises rear emergency braking.Read more

The rear crossmember subframe on my vehicle is completely rusted out which caused serious suspension issue and cause the control arm to be in contact with the fuel tank. On Christmas day, 12/25/2023 my EGR valve failed about 60 miles from home blowing my F3 fuse and putting the car into walk home mode. Luckily after some quick searching i was able to self diagnose the EGR valve as the problem as this appears to be a frequent problem with this model of car. Lots of posts online. The heating in the car was not working. Then one morning the car started overheating and the check engine light came on. Taken to dealer to find the coolant was low and that it was leaking into cylinders 2 and 3 and now the engine needed to be replaced. The CVT transmission in my Kicks slips every time I try to accelerate. It will also stall out from time to time, lose power and die. I've had this happen on an interstate before, almost causing a serious wreck. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with it mechanically that they can see.
