The problem first started out 4 days after I bought it from Graff Jeep in Rockford, MI at 150,000 miles. The engine light came on. I would say the vehicle was inspected by my mobile tech, but he advised he never seen anything the issue with the door not closing or staying closed every time, said he would ask around and get back to me, I was told by another rep I had to pay for a new latch, but they couldn't confirm if this is the issue. After I finally got home I checked the pivot point of the wiper arm and the nut was still tight. I ordered a new wiper motor module, and replaced it. A known steering problem exists. Honda admits the steering gear box is defective. Dealer has ordered replacement but now Honda states it will be December before parts are available. A couple of weeks after getting some software (or maybe firmware?) recalls done on my Ford Maverick my husband and I were driving down a semi-residential street. We were only a couple miles from our house, and we were able to get home safely, semi-careening our way there. Luckily there weren't any kids playing in the street (there often are) or any pedestrians crossing somewhere unexpectedly. The next day, my husband took the truck to the Ford dealership and told them about what had happened. He told them about how it went into limp mode and then accelerated by itself. They had the truck for basically the whole work day, and then brought it back. They said they couldn't recreate that failure so they cleared the codes, and told us to bring it in if it happened to them. When we got the documentation from the service it said that all they did was clear the codes. And they did NOT document ANYWHERE that we had reported that it had accelerated on its own. That night we found a Reddit thread that had lots of other people reporting the same failure and no satisfactory explanation was given, and, like us, none of them was certain that the issue had been "fixed." I'll upload the documentation they gave us, but again it's what they did NOT document that caused the most concern.Read more

The GM portable charger has two pigtails for using either 120V Level 1 or 240V Level 2 charging. My complaint is that the GM charging unit will default to 120V Level1 charging without any fault/warning indication if one phase of the 240V circuit fails. I had a 240V dedicated service installed so that I could charge my EV at 240V Level 2 charging rates. The charging rate didn't seem to improve
... after plugging the charger into the 240V outlet, but I assumed that was due to current limitations of the GM portable charging unit. I happened to check the charging rate as displayed on the infotainment unit and discovered that I was actually charging at "120V Level 1" even though I was plugged into the 240V outlet. I discovered that a fuse had blown on one of the phases of the service and after analyzing my electric utility bills realized that the fuse must have blown immediately. I didn't check the fuses before because the charger light was on and I assumed everything was ok. I've uploaded some photos of the electrical fault. Being a new EV owner and naive to charging rates and levels, I was unaware of the issue. The pigtails for the GM portable charger should have an 'identifier' circuit that allows the charger to determine if the service connection matches the expected capabilities and provide some type of fault or warning indication.Read more

This issue generated two codes: U1011 - The automobile fault code U1011 indicates a problem with the Controller Area Network (CAN) communication harness, a faulty Engine Control Module (ECM), or a poor harness ground connection. The most common symptom is the Engine Light ON or Service Engine Soon Warning Light. U1028 - The automobile fault code U1028 indicates a communication issue between the vehicle’s modules. The contact's husband owns a 2019 Ford EcoSport. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH; an abnormal popping sound began to emit from the vehicle. The vehicle also began to hesitate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal. ... an independent mechanic where it was discovered that the oil line had been contaminated with various particles which caused the failure. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer and the turbocharger was replaced; however, the failure returned soon after the repair. Recently, the contact discovered that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.Read more
