When I start driving, sometimes I randomly see Key System Error and DAS Malfunction. All other warnings such as emergency brake, traction control, blind spot detection light up. Engine RPM meter keeps going to 0 and back and forth (see video in the link below). When this happens, driver assistance features like forward collision warning, blind spot warning and lane departure warning stops working.
... Sometimes, I cannot turn off the engine by pressing the Stop Engine button. I have to hold the button for about 5 seconds to stop the engine. Sometimes there's a Chasis Control System error (Attached a picture from last year). This started happening about a year ago and has occurred at least a dozen times so far. I have taken this to different dealerships, and none have been able to identify the issue. I haven't had any accidents on collisions on this vehicle. ... eport being able to just shift through the gears a couple times or wiggling the gear shift and it shuts off, but that is not always my case. I have, on a few occasions now, had to remove my gear shift knob and panel completely, locating the park switch and manually bending it to recognize that my car was in park. Doing this will typically subside the issue for about a week, but no longer than that. We have tried to have the dealership see the message when taking it in for other things, but it never seems to happen when they are watching. There were no other issues with this vehicle before this started happening. We purchased the vehicle in February with about 44,000 miles. This issue has instilled fear in me every time I go to shut my vehicle off never knowing if it will actually shut off or not. When driving down both highways and interstates on several occasions my vehicle has slammed the brakes on prompting the warning of emergency braking. This when there are no vehicles directly in my lane or path. It often occurs when passing a tractor trailer on the interstate so much so that I hover my foot on the gas pedal to counteract this braking.

Analysis many DTC codes found related to this system:B2512 4WAS SIG: C1B9000 DAST SYSTEM: C1138 4WAS CIRCUIT & C1A04 ABS/TCS/VDC CIRC. Correction Recommended to perform DAST calibration first before performing further diagnosis. COST $539.15 . They also did Multi-Point Inspection items requiring immediate attention Engine Air Filter COST $94.99 GRAND TOTAL $641.64 out of pocket. 4/3/24 picked up car. On that evening drove the car and as I’m pulling up on drive way power steering goes out again. I managed to get the car in garage. Once I’m in push button to close garage doesn’t work and car dies no power at all. Able to get car started by playing with battery cables. On dealership notes car was there 30 miles ago. Now they say wrong battery size. That battery was replaced by them on 2/28/22. Also the battery just past Multi-Point 2 days ago.New battery cost $232.78 now out of pocket $874.42.This is now 4/10/24. Drove that evening and front splash guard fall off had to tie wrap to hold whatever pieces are left. Took it to dealership they took no responsibility. I will need to replace it. Well the part I’m the most upset about is my daughter could have died driving down the road and all the lights came on in the vehicle and it would not drive while she’s out in the middle of nowhere scared half to death. We get the vehicle to Honda and they say it’s the fuel injectors. I’m like no one’s fuel injectors go out. Well I look it up and it’s a huge problem for Honda and they just don’t want to pay to have them replaced. I have seen many recalls on the Ford Escape for the problem below. Ford Escape Recall: Certain vehicles with 1.5L engines may have vulnerable engine oil separator housing that can crack and allow oil to leak. A fire can occur if fuel leaks onto an ignition source at high temperatures. Ford states that at least four drivers experienced car fires within five minutes of shutting down the engines in their vehicles. It is disappointing that Ford does not own up to this oil leak issue in their vehicles. I have had nothing but problems with my 2014 Ford Escape. The repair costs are incredibly high. I am making car payments on a vehicle that I can no longer drive due to the dangers of a possible car fire. He assured me there was nothing in the way so I put the car in drive and tried to go forward and it did the same thing. It was like I was trying to go over a log or something. (My husband said the same thing had happened to him when he also had it parked on the slight incline and he said to shut it off and try again). I then shut it off, put it in drive and as soon as I took my foot off the brake it flew forward without me ever touching the gas peddle. I slammed on the brakes and it stopped. It was like the cruise control was set to 60mph and it was accelerating without me in control. I tried another time to get it to operate correctly and the next time the rear wheels locked and it flew forward with the wheels locked, leaving a skid mark on my driveway. My husband then took over trying to figure it out and had the same things happen to him. We left it parked outside in our yard and called Kia. It was towed to Berlin City Kia in Williston VT today. Hello: We bought the vehicle in 2021. After a few months, we noticed that the vehicle braked itself: meaning it auto-braked while driving at 25mph on the road. We took the vehicle to the dealer for repair. They said, "the vehicle was absolutely fine and perhaps something in the way of the vehicle triggered braking". I, the driver replied, I didn't have any vehicles either in front of or behind me
... . And besides, I understand the "safety features" and functionalities. Yet, they gave me the vehicle without repair. After a few months, same thing happened: the vehicle auto-braked or braked itself without me the driver putting my foot on the brakes. This time I also called the company's consumer affairs who said they'd help. The consumer affairs worked with the dealer. The dealer now said, "yes the vehicle indeed had auto-braking issues and it could be fixed, and that they'll fix it". So, I, now assured that the vehicle was a 100% fine when it came to auto-braking had been driving the vehicle until today April 16th, 2024, when while driving out on the city in 25mph the vehicle auto-braked again! I emailed the dealer and also called the company's consumer affairs (at their headquarters) to keep them in the loop today, and expect to hear back from them. In this instance, (3rd in 2-3 years), I'm not sure whether the dealer will brush aside the problem as "nothing" as in the first instance, or purport to "fix the issue" without actually fixing it, as in the second instance. At any rate, it came down to a "matter of principle": meaning since I'm not sure if the vehicle's intrinsic defect will be "resolved completely ever", I have to report it to "governing authorities". Upon starting the car (54,000 miles) the ABS Light, Steering light, FCW, LDW, Brake light came on. After looking in the manual it was determine that the car was dangerous to drive. ... noid Value was Malfunctioning, the Electric Power Steering was experiencing a problem in the "VSA" System, the Forward Collision warning, and Lane Departure warning were showing a "VSA" Brake Actuator Malfunction. The car was underivable without getting this repaired. Because the VSA Solenoids are built inside the ABS Modulator they can not be replaces separately. The cost to repair this $2764 the part cannot be replace without a $150 Brake Fluid exchange. The initial Diagnostic fee was $30. The out of pocket expense to drive the vehicle was $2944 plus tax and shop fees. There are multiple complaints regarding the same issue. Please issue a recall. I would like Honda to reimburse me for the repair costs.Read more

Vehicle is flashing all kinds of repair needed signals. It is stalling and shutting off. It's not safe for me to drive. My passenger seat airbag warning is illuminated, with associated chime. I am also getting a orange warning light indicating the passenger airbag is inop.
