Air bag style seat belt has broken twice and won’t allow seat belt to latch after it breaks. Broke while seat belt was in use and driving down the highway. When replacing the buckle I found that the frame piece on the seat was broke and moved when trying to tighten the buckle. The buckle has been unavailable online through multiple vendors and finally found one in stock.

Vehicle randomly will engage the parking brake while vehicle is in motion and in drive. Vehicle then will stall and needs repeated attempts to restart before break will disengage. Have had it to the dealer, no less than three times with one visit lasting over 30 days with no resolution to date.

On [XXX], I went to Volvo in Rochester NY and explained the situation expecting the service person to be extremely concerned. Much to my surprise he said “that happens all the time” and that when it gets cold out sometimes the latches don’t respond. I anticipated that my car would go in immediately but was told “how is Thursday to bring your car in.” I dropped my car off and received a call that afternoon with “great news” that the issue was a faulty door latch, the part was in stock and came with a “lifetime warranty.” He told me the cost was $734.00 per door meaning with sales tax the cost would be over $1,500 and I would still have two doors at risk for flying open in the future. I asked how this life safety issue which has failed on countless other vehicles is not covered by the manufacturer nor has there been a recall. He said Volvo has recognized the door latch safety issue and designed a fix. When the door latch fails, this new replacement part, that the consumer pays for, solves the problem. Volvo recognized a safety problem, designed the fix, yet has chosen not to recall the vehicles that have these problems but rather waits until the door latch fails before the consumer must pay to replace it. I arrived the next day to pick up my vehicle, sat down with the service manager who was empathetic, but reiterated this is an issue that has repeatedly occurred. The warranty company wants the GM technician to replicate the fault... which isn't possible without hooking up a trailer... also very dangerous which I refuse to do until the issue if resolved. Told VMI lost supplier for controller board leaving no way to properly restore conversion equipment. On 1/3/24 spoke to VMI technician who confirmed controller board is unavailable. He stated VMI engineering department is trying to develop a workaround for a new controller board. VMI technician also reported two calls a day for this problem, and that it affects their Chrysler conversion equipment as well. 2/7/24: Telephoned VMI technical support. Told workaround for controller board will not be available for months. Told that if quadriplegic becomes trapped in car to call fire department. Told this is an acceptable solution in the mobility industry if back-up fails. Very cavalier, comparing to Ford no longer making fuel pump or fuel hose for his old truck. 4/18/24; 4/25/24: Emailed VMI requesting status of controller board replacement. No response. Conclusion: The controller board failed without warning, causing all conversion equipment to fail, including back-up override, and potentially trapping power wheelchair dependent individuals in their vehicles. VMI has failed to provide parts for repair of its conversion equipment. VMI authorized dealer estimates $1,000 to bypass controller board. At one one point when I stopped for a long red light the smell of fuel was overwhelming. Arrived at dealership where you could and smell gas. Went into office and again was told that with out an appointment that was over two weeks out nothing could be done. Again explained the safety aspect of an active fuel leak and was blankly looked at and then told the only appt is more than 2 weeks out. Finally asked for supervisor and they said that it could be left but wouldn’t be seen for 4-5 days. My car is afflicted by a common steering issue experienced by other owners of 22-23 model year civics. The steering becomes “sticky” or “notchy” often at highways speeds. It is most noticeable when making small steering adjustments to stay in center of lane, and it takes more effort than normal which causes over correction and difficulty staying centered. It creates a more stressful drive

On a long night drive, I have experienced enough fatigue from trying to maintain center of lane that I’ve needed to pullover and rest frequently. I have described the issue to one dealership but the problem is intermittent and they have not yet observed it or done more than a basic inspection. However, there is a wealth of anecdotal data online in owners forums of people who are experiencing this, with varying levels of success with getting their dealerships attention and meaningful action or resolution. Honda has released a service bulletin (23-037) which matches my issue, however people are now reporting that the issue continues even after getting a replacement EPS gear box. Therefore it is my opinion that this should be escalated to a recall, and that Honda take more action to resolve this known issue before it results in accidents (particularly through driver fatigue or inability to maintain center of lane accurately). I have also started to notice noise from my steering system when stopped or at low speeds, which makes me worry that the steering issue is worsening over time and will become an even more significant safety issue just outside of warranty (I’m only at 22,000 miles currently).Read more

3rd brake light randomly goes dim online thousands of people have the same issue, it needs to be a recall. Light diodes are getting bad and the other half are cracking from the heat of the window. Chevy changed the like to the trunk lid. Seems suspicious to me. Chevy needs to make it right.its federal law to have a 3rd brake light.

There are issues with the emergency break system while driving. It is usually okay for the car to stop when reversing. Yesterday while driving with my children, I crossed some train track at a speed of about 30-35 miles per hour as the green light was on. As soon as I reached 75% in the tracks, all of a sudden the emergency brakes turned on, the car stopped in traffic and was about to be hit.
... As scary and dangerous as this was, thankfully the car in the back was able to stop in time. Despite never experiencing this before, I found out many VWG owners have had similar experiences. In order to avoid causing serious accident, I will have the dealer inspect the car and turn it off immediately. I ask for your help so there is something done about it as soon as possible.
