The car suspension is not working properly and the car has becoming very bouncy-even on highway. Not sure if it is too hard or too soft, but issues start when it is about 24,000 miles. Changing driving mode made no difference. Besides being uncomfortable, it is very distracting. to the driver.

We realized a headlight malfunction where the headlights randomly and intermittently turn off. Sometimes they both work, sometimes one or the other works. A year ago, we seemed to notice a headlight go out, then they both worked. It happened again, so we replaced the bulb. Just last night, my wife happened to be following me home at night and her right headlight wouldn't turn on. In the middle o
... f driving, both headlights went out. Then, shortly after, her left headlight went out and the right one came back on. I searched Jeep forums and discovered this is actually a very common problem and is not unique. This is an extremely hard issue to recognize due to the intermittent nature and poses a serious safety hazard driving at night. Given that it is obvious (took me 5 minutes) to realize there were countless other Jeep Compass owners having the issue, and the fact that headlights are a serious safety issue, I strongly recommend the NHTSA take a look into the issue. If you have any inspectors in the Dallas Fort-Worth area that would like to inspect this vehicle, please let me know.Read more

Approximately three weeks ago, our 2020 Chevrolet Blazer's check engine light came on. It has a little over 63,000 miles on it. I took it to a private service garage where they diagnosed the code as P0128, or coolant system issue. They concluded that it was the thermostat. I did some checking on the warranty and it turns out that the warranty on this car expired at 61,066 miles. I then took i
... t to Serra Chevrolet in Grand Blanc, MI where they diagnosed the same error code, or P0128. They took the car back to give me a service estimate and when they returned they diagnosed not only the thermostat as defective. This has become a common problem with this car and the 3.6 liter engine in particular. We have been told that this is a "known issue" by two different General Motors dealerships, specifically in their respective service departments. However, the owners are now having to pay for the complete replacement, both parts and labor, for these issues. Given the fact that these are a known issue, it seems to me that these need to be elevated to at least a bulletin, if not a full recall. The repair and replacement for the thermostat and sensor is in excess of $1,000. Again, since this is a known issue, it is my belief that General Motors should pay these expenses.Read more

I then began to smell what smelled like melting plastic and then I saw dark colored smoke beginning to come out from under the center console on the right side of the vehicle. I slowed down and looked for a safe place to pull the car off of the road. The entire scenario appeared to have lasted 1-2 minutes, but I really don’t know exactly how long it was before I was able to exit the vehicle. In order to see where I was going, I rolled down the front windows and as soon as I did so, I saw flames appearing from underneath the center console on the right side of the vehicle. I was able to stop the vehicle on the right shoulder of the road and then I placed the vehicle in park and I exited the vehicle. I moved away from the vehicle and called 9-1-1. Bulverde – Spring Branch Fire & EMS and Comal County Sheriff’s Department arrived several minutes later and when they arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. I was still able to drive it home and after a little bit more research I found an open recall for 2016 Honda Pilots describing the same exact issue my car was diagnosed with as well as other years and similar model vehicles (Ridgeline & Odyssey). I read the potential dangers of this issue and finding out that it could cause the engine to stall while driving increasing risks of a crash or potentially catching fire. After reading that I started to feel overwhelmed and afraid that if I had continued to drive this car with my 3 year old son in the back and the engine seized or caught on fire on the freeway on our way to daycare.. I was relieved I was able to catch this issue before any of that could happen. No warning lamps or any other type of message except a knock coming from the engine bay to warn me of any issues displayed on the dash. I initially thought this was an overlook by the dealer and they must have not seen it but after calling them back I was told my specific 2016 Honda Pilot was not covered under that recall and it needed a specific VIN/Manufacturer date. Even though it was diagnosed with the same issue on the recall. I do not feel safe driving in this vehicle knowing that the engine could fail causing a crash at any moment and knowing that there is an open recall attached to it, not having a solution from Honda other than my VIN being from a wrong date is very disappointing.
