I asked my passenger if she saw what happened as she sat there looking at me terrified. Her response was 'no but I heard it, did we just crash?' My next thought was I had a seatbelt airbag deploy. I examined my belt and there was no airbag in it. At this time I noticed the belt was fully extended and would not retract back into the slot. I got out of the vehicle to do a walk around to make sure I had not triggered an airbag sensor. There was no damage. Now I was terrified because I had no clue what happened and my chest hurt so bad. I began to do research online and found out I had a recall on my seatbelt. I concluded it was in fact my seatlbelt when the red spots on my left collar bone turned into 1in x 0.5in abrasions the following morning. 18 hours later my right eye ball began to feel bruised. By 24 hours I began to have a headache and nausea. I was seen in the ER and had to have a CT scan of my head, neck, and chest. Although my scan came back clear I was diagnosed with contusions to my chest, a closed head injury, and a subcongunctival hemorrhage. By 36 hours my sclera was swollen and there was little to no visible white. At this point I was seen by opthalmology. He said the hemorrhage was very large and caused by such a sudden increase in intracranial pressure. The prognosis was good, treatment was steroid eye drops and rest. In the parking lot, I was driving at a slow rate of speed because it was a Saturday morning and there were lots of kids going to the Jui Jitsu gym and dance studio which was my destination. While navigating at this slow speed, I typical lift my foot off of the accelerator rather than tapping the brakes as it is an effective method in the B driving mode. I was turning right into a spot, my foot was on the accelerator because there is not coasting in this mode to turn into the spot. As I was turning the wheel hard to the right, my hand grazed the capacitive controls of the ACC and resumed the cruise control causing my car to suddenly accelerate at the previously set speed into the curbing. As mentioned, my foot was on the accelerator as I was pulling into the spot. When the car crashed into the sidewalk the impact caused my foot to depress further on the accelerator which caused a secondary impact into a support pillar further on the sidewalk. Fortunately, the pillar was there, otherwise, I would have crashed through the yoga studio directly behind the pillar which had a full class going. I also narrowly missed a father and son walking on the sidewalk to Jui Jitsu. I notifed VW and they analyzed the black box but claimed the accident to be my fault since the accelerator pedal was engaged, and I did not break until after impact. I do not dispute that.Read more

This was just after the recall service was performed in St. Cloud Minnesota. The first non-eventful trip was July 10th-14th, was into South Dakota, and no downshifts occurred. The transmission problem started occurring again this week. This week I drove the second trip to Western North Dakota, around Linton. There are relatively small hills there, and the truck experienced a severe downshift 3 times. One time was at about 25 mph, going down a small hill before the entrance to [XXX]. That was on [XXX]. The next day while driving around 55 mph, on [XXX] North towards Bismarck, the truck, again with tow/haul assist on, abruptly downshifted while going down hill twice in about 25 miles. I cancelled the rest of the trip and stayed on relatively flat roads to get back to Minnesota. Today I called the Ford dealership, and they offered to do a transmission diagnosis, but it would cost me $150 as it likely wouldn't be considered warranty work under the recall. Next I called the Ford company at the number on the recall letter dated July 2024. They too said it would not cover diagnostics because they didn't think it was related to the recall just performed, not yet anyway. Questions: There was no accidents, dealer hasn't seen or verified yet, and no warning lights came on. Dealer is welcome to inspect and diagnosis the problem if they waive the cost to me. The vehicle is equipped with the e - torque system that is supposed to restart the vehicle after coming to a full stop in the engine shutting down to conserve fuel. The vehicle will have multiple warning lights come up on occasion, including low voltage, service etorque system, low power mode. The vehicle has been taken to two different dealerships at least three different occasions. Sometimes they find diagnostic trouble codes that refer to loss or low engine power. But they have not been able to replicate the problem when dropped off. The problem has occurred during the winter months but also the summer months, so it seems that temperature is not the sole cause. But it seemed to happen more during winter time. The concern for safety is that the vehicle will shut down at a low speed of less than 3 mph. When letting go of the break and expecting the engine to restart the vehicle May slowly roll forward into an intersection if it's in a downhill before the parking brake is able to engage itself. Another concern is for the person behind might assume that the vehicle will drive forward but due to the engine failing to restart and applying the e-brake, the person behind might not see the brake lights engage and could cause the vehicle to get rear-ended if the driver behind is not able to determine the vehicle in front of them has stalled. The problems will appear with no warning whatsoever. And they seem to mostly happen during the initial few miles of the day. I was driving down the highway today at 70 mph and all the lights illuminated on my MDX. It began to struggle to keep speed and eventually shut down once I was on the service road. I was extremely scared and nervous that I was going to be involved in an accident or the car was going to blow up as it started bouncing up and down while I was still on the highway.

When I asked for my money back, the used car dealership refused to refund me and told me that they don't do refunds. power steering rack ( part # 53560-TBA-A01. Steering is sticking when on highway driving 55+ and hard to correct. Noone at dealership can duplicate issue, however my daughter and husband have also experienced sticky steering and hard to correct. No warning lights. Diagnostic tests show nothing wrong. While operating the vehicle at ~70mph, the front display showed a message that the vehicle was going to stop and to pull off safely. Unknown at what point the vehicle will stop, in a panic, I pulled off on the highway and immediately called road assistance for a tow. After calling the dealership, they told me

On May 12, 2023, the dealership informed me that they did not find anything wrong and said I could pick the vehicle back up since they couldn't replicate the issue. On my drive home, the exact same issue happened and in a panic I pulled off on the same highway with posted speeds of 70mph. The car was at the dealership from May 12 2023 - June 26 2023. The dealership replaced the valve body and transmission. On [XXX], while driving with two young children [XXX] and [XXX] ) on the same highway with posted speeds of 70mph, I received the same dash message. The highway was very busy that day and the concern was escalated with my young children in the vehicle. I was able to pull off. I turned off my vehicle, turned it back on, which put it in limp mode so I could putter to a safer spot than the middle of an off-ramp. I turned it off once more and restarted it, and it allowed me to drive with the check engine light. The next day (XXX), I took it to the dealership and they just confirmed today (7/23/24) it once again needs a new transmission. So I have been put in an extremely unsafe condition 3 times in just over a year with no new resolution beyond just trying to replace the transmission once again.
