NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858: I have contacted my local Honda dealer multiple times to fix vehicle per the recall and have been told that Honda has provided no parts to fix the vehicle, even after my vehicle began experiencing problems. Recently, while operating my vehicle, it hesitated (i.e. almost stalled out) and then surged forward, which caused me to get into a collision and sustain injuries
... . After the collision, I contacted the Honda manufacturer using the customer service number on the recall notice and informed them of the collision. They denied that the issue my vehicle was experiencing was related to recall even though a Honda website states that the fuel pump issue will cause the same issues that I experienced. The Honda manufacturer customer service rep. stated that Honda has parts to fix the recall and the dealer should have asked to receive a part. When I contacted the dealer and informed them of the Honda manufacturer customer service rep. statements, the service manager and my local dealer became upset and frustrated as he informed me that they have been trying to get parts for months. The Honda manufacturer does not appear to care for the safety of the individuals using their products, nor the for the individuals that may also be injured based upon these unsafe vehicles still being on the road. In additions, the Honda manufacturer is providing intentionally misleading statements to consumers related to the recall. Their actions are unacceptable and they should be held accountable.Read more

The Nissan Frontier (and perhaps other Nissan vehicles employing the same system) equipped with the 'Intelligent Cruise Control' (ICC) exhibits dangerous behavior when a followed vehicle comes to a complete stop with ICC enabled. When this occurs, the Nissan will come to a complete stop, then a warning chime will sound and the vehicle will immediately start moving quickly forward. Since the ICC
... brings the vehicle to a stop very close to the followed vehicle, if the driver is thinking the ICC will hold the vehicle in a stationary position, it is possible that this behavior could result in the Nissan rear-ending the followed vehicle. This is the result of a flaw in the design of the Nissan Intelligent Cruise Control that releases the brake with little warning when the traffic in front of the vehicle is stopped. A proper design would hold the brake until some manual driver action is taken such as physically pressing the accelerator or the brake. My personal experience was that I was on an Interstate freeway in very slow traffic. This was the first time I had the ICC enabled in slow and go traffic. It was working fine and, when the traffic came to a complete stop, it properly stopped behind the vehicle in front of me. Then, to my shock, my Nissan beeped and started to accelerate forward nearly rear-ending the vehicle in front of me. Luckily, I was able to press the brake in time to avoid a collision, but this is a flawed design and represents an unnecessary danger to the Nissan as well as followed vehicles.Read more

My Ariya lane assist almost crashed me outside Philadelphia on I-76 (a notoriously congested and hazardous road). My hands got sweaty (I have sweaty palms, it's a medical condition) and it suddenly couldn't detect my hands. It quickly went into the "retake control" alert and I tried tapping the break to disengage it but that didn't do anything because it thought I wasn't driving the car so it kept
... the locked up lane assist on. I had to take my hands off the wheel, dry them, and then grab the wheel over and over until I found a dry enough spot for it to detect my hands. I figured out the fault, and why different people have different experiences. It's based on how moist your skin is and how sweaty your hands are. It took a couple trials to figure it out. I think it also uses back-force on the wheel to some extent, but mostly it's the capacitative sensor. I also tested if it would detect at different pressure levels when your hands are sweaty but that doesn't seem to matter. In addition turning the wheel ALSO doesn't help so you can be fighting for control of it when the system refuses to de-activate and is steering you into a bad place due to a left exit or something with traffic bearing down on you from 3 sides. This is extremely dangerous and using a system that fails IF YOUR HANDS AREN'T EXACTLY THE RIGHT LEVEL OF DRY/WET is absolutely something that needs to be recalled and replaced.Read more

Ever since the systems have become overly sensitive to the point of locking breaks up on the highway, at highway speed, for no obstruction.
