This was our family's third Prius and a sixth Toyota vehicle. ... 35 mph (50 km/h). Suddenly, while driving, the red BRAKE light, yellow ABS light, and red brake system warning lights came on all at once. The car's brake continued to work normally but I also started hearing a low volume, frequent, 1-sec long electronic buzzing sound coming from somewhere the front of the car, on the driver's side. It was audible every 3 seconds or so, even after the car was put in Park and turned off, then it went off after a couple minutes. I took the car to a local German Toyota leadership to have the problem diagnosed. The Service Department told me later that day the DTC1391 was identified, and the brake booster assembly + brake booster pump assembly needed to be replaced, at a total cost of this repair being over EUR 9,000 (around $9,900). The parts themselves were quoted to cost EUR 3,500 and EUR 4,000 each, and would have to be ordered from the US. I cannot afford to pay $10K to repair a 10-year old car. After some research, I discovered while Toyota never issued a recall, they knew about this brakes problem since 2018. I found several "Customer Support Program" notifications to Prius owners for this specific problem, including the one numbered 20TE07 which applied to 2012-2015 Prius's V. It told dealers to do this repair free of charge and extended the coverage for 10 years or 150,000 miles It also had info on repair cost reimbursement to customers. Hoping I could get my car fixed and file for reimbursement I called Toyota US and was told this CSP expired in Mar 2024 for my VIN and that there was nothing Toyota would be able to do.Read more

The drivers seat is loose, rocking back and forth significantly to the point it very noticeable while driving. The dealer states that this is due to the bottom seat frame being worn out. There are only 41,000 miles on the car, about 37,000 when I first noticed the information. This should not fail so early the car’s life. So when I started the car and the warning lights came back, I would turn off the car and open and close the door (to turn off the computer). After I turned off and on the car 3 or 4 more times, the warning lights weren't on, so we started our road trip. This is a safety issue because I am now used to 4 years of Lane Keeping Assistance and Collision Mitigation. For the first time in 4 years, I experienced *3* near collisions with other vehicles due to the failure of these systems. This issue was inspected by the mechanics at Purrfect Auto. On 07/02/2024, my newly purchased Tesla [Model-Y 2024] was parked next to a pillar in a parking garage. After ensuring that the Full Self-Driving sign was on, I activated the FSD feature. This sudden and unexpected action caused the right side of the back passenger door to scrape against the iron guardrail on the pillar and caused damages to the right back passenger door and a portion of right back fender. This action happened so sudden that did not have the chance to react and take manual control. I contacted Tesla to report the issue and seek assistance, but after +4 weeks of contacting and restless following up with Tesla service teams, Tesla stated that the software was functioning properly and denied any responsibility for the malfunction, and they closed my case without offering any resolution or further investigation. Luckily, this incident happened in a confined parking garage. It could have resulted in more severe damage or injury had the circumstances been different. Additionally, Tesla's dismissal of the issue and refusal to accept responsibility is deeply concerning, especially about the reliability and safety of their Full Self-Driving technology. I sincerely request your office to investigate into this incident, and I hope you could advise any appropriate action to examine and address this issue. The dealer, asking like it was an oil change, asked if I wanted a new $9k transmission. As I can't afford anywhere near that, nor is the car worth it, I was required to drive it home from the dealership, again putting my life at risk. IN ADDITION - a recall repair was requested (the driver door wiring harness) - and the dealership told me that it was completed. They did not complete this recall either. Nissan should not be allowed to make vehicles in the USA. If they actually stood behind their product and made repairs and replacements when there are manufacturing issues, I would feel much better about the situation. Again, I am having to press the accelerator numerous times to get the car to work and with that, there is a jerking feel to it. ... ing only recently purchasing [XXX] and I had driven maybe 60 miles I located but with seeing a couple of vehicles approaching and being in the #2 lane my steering was stiff with little chance to get over safely to the #1 lane or to the further left HOV lane, I reached down w/ right hand and made very minimal contact with ignition/ keyfob area and the vehicle had power and was able to regain speed. I absolutely did not attempt to turn the key that was still fully in place. I can not say that other than making contact with no aggressive action or intent was I to believe the vehicle would again be running as it had prior and I proceeded the remainder of my trip (approx. 15-18 miles) with no further issues and without a clue other than I had been made aware of the recall prior to purchase and told it was not anything to be concerned with that the jackknife keyfob seemed to lock in the open position fine, and to just leave it in that position, which I did not agree with that opinion as I read about this safety issue and have brought up on at least 4 occasions prior to and after the sale. We were actually informed by the finance mgr. upon signing there were NO RECALLS on this vehicle, which we made him aware of and he commented that it would be nice if somebody would let him know that! And I informed sales person on two separate occasions as well asking that it receive the final Nissan remedy yet never being taken very seriously and now unhappy with this event when I that my knee making such slight contact is disturbing! The engine fan fell off, broke off, sheered off at the bolt that attaches it to the engine. The van is brand new this happened with less then 3000 miles on it. We realized an issued when the van gave a warning to stop immediately and turn off engine. This warning came on 3-4 times as we tried to ascend the pass. We had not place to go on this road. We pulled off several times waiting and hour to
... let it cool just to travel 3 miles.We just thought we may be running to hot. It was warm out, on an incline on Logans Pass in Glacier national park. Once we coasted out of the park after several hours of this situation and were able to safely get under and look we discovered the fan was dangling in the engine compartment. We contacted a dealer in Billings who told us they have seen several of these. We have read several sprinter van forums and Facebook pages where numerous people are reporting the same issue. The Missoula Mercedes Benz dealer replace the pully, the belt and the fan. The said they were going to replace the water pump, but did not. We requested the parts from them and they would not allow us to have them. We requested pictures of the parts and they still have not been supplied to us. We have a few pictures of the damaged bolt. The service tech was initially just going to rethread the bolt. This a know problem by Mercedes Benz, Winnebago and they are taking no measures to correct it. Repaired it putting the same parts back on. What is to ensure this will not happen again. We were in a remote area of Northern Montana with limited service. We were essentially stranded there for three days.Read more
